05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

 So I got an email from Spirit last night that they had changed my flight coming home to a 9:30 am flight. We will never make it to the airport by then so I called and they were unable to do anything for me but refund my money! I am so mad because I only paid 59.00 each person for this flight and now the prices are up in the 150.00 for a one way. I don't know what to do:confused: ??? We may have to spend the night and leave on the 17th now and we really did not want to do that! Just when I thought everything was going GREAT I get this on my plate... Man I will never fly Spirit again even if they offer the seat free of charge:mad: !

Lyn9856 and YenSid I Have updated your FE info! Also to anyone who is on the list and info in missing from your name and you please PM me with it. I will be closing the FE list on Monday March 2nd.
THANKS!!!:thumbsup2

That stinks big time! Sorry you have to go thru all of this now as the trip grows closer. Any luck with flying on SouthWest out of your airport? I know they have pretty decent fares running now, at least from Ohio.

Yeah I have looked a SW but they have no direct flights. I may just go with them anyway because its only 98.00 per person and I don't have to pay a bag Fee. I just don't think its fair for Spirit to advertise something and then cancel on paying customers!

DisneyMommy1022,

That stinks about your flight. We too had a similar experience with Spirit a few years ago. Just keeping checking everyday, it seems like they prices can stay the same work weeks and then bam they come down. I hope it works for you.

Do they have another flight later that day? If they do I think I might complain until they gave it to me at my original price! Sounds fair to me.

Good Luck

Hey Scottie, what's this day pass your talking about? Our flight isn't until 6:30pm (after the cruise) and I'm not sure what to do???? Any Ideas:confused3 :confused3

I have read on the boards that a Day Pass runs $89. I would assume tax on top of that. I am not sure of all the details but know people use this when they have a later flight home. You may want to give the Hyatt MCO a quick call to check on it, if you think it will work for you guys. :goodvibes

The grandkids are looking forward to the Hyatt pool. I made all arrangements through Disney so we will be taking their bus to the port. I know it was more $$ but less stress, at least I sure hope so. With 3 adults and 3 kids and stroller, we will have alot of stuff to manage.

Come on now... half the fun is dealing with all the stuff that comes with multiple adults and kids traveling on a Disney trip togther!;)

We will also be 3 adults and 3 kids plus likely a stroller in tow so I feel the pain!! I will be so happy to have that large SUV pull up out front of the Hyatt in the morning the haul our mess of stuff over to port!

Here is the final update for the bracelet order (well not exactly final if anyone has anything to add/adjust).
**If you want to add anything or make any changes... Please let me know no later then this Saturday at Noon ET.

I know... the trip is all we are talking about and just yesterday I found out that my sister & family will be at Disney World the Friday before the cruise and we are gonna meet up with them at the Magic Kingdom for a day!!! So we have that much more to be excited about! We are gonna have a blast... :yay:

Royfam,

The Hyatt at MCO has "day rooms" you can use. The cost is $89.00 plus tax. You can check in at 9:00 a.m. and I believe check out is 5:00 p.m. Just like a regular hotel room and you can use the pool also. I figured we would take the DCL buses to MCO and check in.

I found out about it from fellow Dis'ers. Our flight isn't until 7:00 p.m. so I thought it would be a nice relaxing day until we leave. But the crazy in me is debating whether or not to scrap that idea for a day at DTD. The jury is still out!

But anyhow, I called Hyatt MCO directly and booked the room. I had heard you can not book on line.

Hope that helps.

Hey there - my two cents as a totally uninvolved observer: Unless you absolutely MUST shop at the few stores at DTD or want to spend a really quick day at DisneyQuest, I'd personally stick with the day room. I haven't done the trek from Port to WDW to MCO, but I have to think that there are a LOT of opportunities to get stuck in traffic or just run into issues. Why give yourself added stress from that when you can relax by a pool or eat a leisurely lunch/dinner or just kick back and nap? :cloud9:
Personally, I wish I could do that, but I'm hopping right onto a cross-country flight!:scared:

Ignore me if DTD is just too strong a siren call...nothing wrong with that at all. I just can't see bumping up the stress level that much right after a relaxing cruise!

Thats a great bit of news to find out for sure, have fun with the fam in the Magic Kingdom! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Its gonna be a busy day but its gonna be well worth the memories!

I am bummed out Space Mountain isnt going to be open for our trip:sad1:
Do you think when you are at the park Friday you can help them rush the work so we can take a ride on it after the cruise? :confused3 ;)

Yes, just focus on all the money you will save on bag fees if you book with SWA... hopefully that will help take some of the sting away!
