03/29/08, March 29, 2008 Eastern Magic - Who else?

Well given that it is spring break in Florida, there really is no surprise to see a lot of Florida teachers on the boat for this particular week....However, how many of the teachers may actually see some of their students on board :)?

As to dinner links, they do need to be done before the boat sails.

I am setting this up so everything can be in one post if other people copy my post by highlighting and copy then paste into your own post. Does that make sense??? Can we tell I am a visual person. Please correct anything I got wrong.....including adding your names

Dinghydeb DW H.S. English and AVID and Adjunct Professor DH H.S. US History, Government, and Law

Dipdotdarlin' DW Middle School Sped and DH H.S. Math

meshellpnc 1st grade (17 years as Kindergarten) and party planner

BTW we are late seating and still awaiting on our cabin assignment.

Looking forward to meeting everyone! Just made that final payment too!!!

Time to make those reservations!

Can anyone help me find this logo but for 2008?

Okay, I think you have a problem with your image link. I tried to see if I could edit it at all and see the picture, but I cannot.

If it is what I think you want I might have it. Can you repost the picture or give me a description. I have a fairly large graphics collection.

PM me your email and I will send you the .jpeg. I thought it was what you were looking for.

I teach fourth grade and no I won't see any of my students!!
By the way I am logged in under my husband name. I'm the wife of stevenpensacola.:thumbsup2

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I just made our first door magnet and hung it on the fridge out of excitement!!!

:teacher: Teachers and those that like them, what would you think of a little adult-only party during the cruise to honor those in the teaching profession? As I stated before, our cabin has a huge veranda (half the aft) & is perfect for just that.

Icemanpad, did you say that we are allowed to bring booze aboard at Pt. Canaveral? We've brought soda & water before.

Meeshel, would love your help. I'd just like to do something so that we can get together more than once.

For St. Thomas, we are looking into private sailing/snorkeling excursions that run anywhere from $75 for 1/2 day to $125 for full day. I have emails into a few companies which sail from a maximum of 6 to a maximum of 15. Some go to BVI, some to St. John and surrounding cays and others to Buck Island and surrounding areas. If we can get a full boat, they will change the 4:00 docking time so that we can get in early enough to board on time. I'm happy to send the info to anyone who emails me. Any takers? My email is debra.callahan@ocps.net

Angelhalo, how did you make your door magnet? DinghyDeb

:confused3 Has anyone checked to see what movies will be playing on board or is it too soon? DD

Yes as to the booze - unopened.

Too early for the movies.

Door magnets are easy....print on regular paper and laminate...and you can use different color paper as a background much like a matte finish when framing art. I did ours at Fedex/Kinko's in their machines. Then affix small magnets that you can get at Michael's craft stores or the like.

I am using magnet paper. It's awesome! I just put it in the printer and hit print. The picture printed it right on there and I didn't have to use paper, lamination sheets, magent strips, etc etc.

My Fiance bought it for me for Christmas because he knew how excited I was about making door magnets!

Sadly, no teachers in this duo.

I must have missed something, can someone explain table linking to me?

We're curious if they might try to seat us alone since its our honeymoon but we've heard the tables for two are very far and few.

To Cruisecrzy: Yes we were on the same cruise last year. This cruise pretty much lines up with our kids' spring break. Did you guys stay at the Beach Club last year before you cruised? We corresponded with someone that did, wondering if that was you?

And yes - your name does sound familiar.

No that was not me. I live 20 min from WDW and 45 from the port.

Nonetheless, I guess we are repeat cruisers for the same cruise, which I suppose is probably more common than not - as a matter of fact, I'll bet the odds are probably better than average that you will cruise with someone who has cruised before and see some familiar faces once you get on board.

Last year, we met another family (tablemates) that we have become good friends with and corresponded with. They are cruising this year but unfortunately, they cruise the week before us (to the Western). We have unsuccesfully tried to get them to switch to ours and vice versa....

Here is the one thing to think about the magnetic paper....it is more expensive then plaing paper or photopaper laminate and magnetic strips. And sometimes things do not look the same on paper as on the screen or sometimes the printers mess up.

To answer the linking quetion here is what it is. You link your reservation numbers so that you are seated with the same serving team (essentially same table) for dinner. So the linked parties are together. I believe there are some advantage if there was PAlo booking to be done but Chuck and Lisa know that better than I do.

PS17 you are definately right about that. I of know I saw a lot os the same faces when I did our Thanksgiving Cruises and there is a group that cruises Halloween all the time as well.

Well I am off to preschool now...oh the fun :)

The other big potential problem w/magnetic paper is you need to be very careful to keep it separate from any important items that can be affected my the magnets or you will demagnetize them...starting with room keys and credit cards to name a few.

Wow I never thought of that.

I am starting to work on the door sign for the group. And I will fix the lists tonight if I get the chance. I may be too busy playing with my new interwrite pad.....if you do not know what it is think telestrator that they use on football and basketball games. I got one for my work computer and like playing with it.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I am LOVING my magnet paper and haven't had any issue with it yet. Seems ok in the printer and it looks even better on the magnet paper than it did on the test sheet of regular paper that I originally test printed it on.

As for the magnet paper affecting the card keys, the same thing goes for any magnets whether its magnet paper or strips of magnets. I plan on putting the magnets all in a double manilla envelope at the bottom of the suitecase so it shouldn't be a problem.

Everyone likes different stuff though so I guess its just up to personal taste. So far I am on :cloud9: with my magnet paper.
