03/01/2008 Eastern!!

My kids are planning on wearing jeans to dinner -- they like pairing nice tops with jeans to throw people off --- i do not wear jeans since the last kid -- so I'm not even taking any. In fact, every pair of pants I'm taking is black == just in different styles - five pair of black pants --

I'm bringing shorts (not for dinner) but I doubt I'll actually put them on!

AS we're planning our day at MK - does anyone know about fast passes? do they still have them?

Yes they still have them..... FP.... Since you got your dinner rotation changed Rani, I will not see you, so that is okay. I guess I will just have to close my eyes. Jeans are bulky and I would not want to pack them. I am a rule follower, so I have a hard time with it.

How can it be sooo cold up there and so warm down here ?? Before MAD gets on with a smart --- comment...

Don't ask if you don't really want to know.

How about a nice seven day cruise to the islands plus lets go on the Disney one. I've heard it's the best ! How does March 1st sound, enought time to get to port canaveral ?? I'll see if we can get a group together and all meet you there !

Sounds great, we're in. My only concern would be, booking so close to the departure date, is there any way to even know for certain what stateroom you would get? I can't imagine what that would be like... pretty frustrating I would guess.

- Mike

That sounds just about perfect. I think I'll go look into something like that right away

Don't forgot pre-cruise planning as well. Ideally, you might find that you have a family member that lives in the area where you can stay. If so, it's not like they're likely to up and move with little prior notice!

For all of those veteran disney cruisers, please tell me honestly what the average person wears to the casual dinners? I read blue jeans allowed, but what do people really wear.

I am not a veteran cruiser, but I can tell you that I will likely NOT be wearing jeans. I don't want to get yelled at by Tink (actually, Tink probably will have A LOT of things to yell at me about, but that won't be one of them).

Okay, forgive me if you are a real poster and are truly joining our thread, but I want to know if this is really Mike? Being a new poster, just joining and then bringing up one of my most hot buttons, jeans at dinner :scared1: :scared1: I can not but to think this is a MAD joke. Again forgive me if I am wrong..... Until I find out, no comment....:flower3:

I my gosh, I can't stop laughing!!! But after last night, I don't blame you at all!

THE FIRST PIRATE COSTUME HAS BEEN LOCATED!

I know you're all breathing a sigh of relief....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Rani,

(I know non-cruise-talk is frowned on by Tink, but she didn't list it in her gripe post this morning, so let's go) I love FASTPASS and have gotten quite good at making good use of them. Are you very familiar with the park? Being familiar with the park is very helpful for optimizing FASTPASS use.

- Mike

We are slightly familiar with the park -- been there twice in the past six years. We also made a customizable map -- and Craig will statistically figure out where most people go first and we'll go the opposite way. Then, we'll split up at the optimum times to have one of us (me) walk with the kids to the next destination while Craig zooms to the next fastpass machine.

As far as your stateroom - I think you should call your travel agent and tell him that the 'women' in your life are beginning to suffer panic attacks because of their refusal to tell you where you'll be staying and that you are going to contact your lawyer about pain and suffering if you can't get your room number by end of day tomorrow.

tkmontg aka DHTyler,

Wow. I hope you post again after that abrupt welcome. What you decide to wear in the dining room is up to you. We usually wear the jeans down and home since we're in a cooler climate. We wear them at night, sometimes. But, I think more than saying that you can or cannot wear them in the dining room - you may feel a little underdressed. We make DS wear a pair of khaki pants and then let him change into shorts after dinner. Now, that's only on casual nights too. Formal nights you'll want to pack a suit and tie and khaki pants for your younger ones. That's just my opinion. During formal nights you'll get an opportunity to take pictures with the characters, just with your family, or with the captain. I like the opportunity to get some nice shots.

BTW, there are no rules that you cannot have DCL take your picture with YOUR camera. Shutters is not cheap but we have, on occasion, thrown out photos early in the trip so that we are not tempted.

Again, welcome! If you'd like to be added to our list, send me a PM or email and I'll get you a copy.

Kim :thumbsup2

where is everyone? just me?

guess what? A while back I took out various people's clothes to pack for later and guess what -- i can't remember where i put them.....i must not be feeling well.....

maybe i'll resume tomorrow!:rotfl:

Can I tell y'all how much it stinks to work on the weekend? This is the first weekend I have worked in 6 years. I have more important things to do, like read all these posts and catch up!:surfweb:

Rani: hope you are feeling better- you'd be proud of me- I bought sunscreen and room deodorizer today- now I have something in a bag next to my suitcase!

MAD: All I can say is, you better get a good upgrade with all the anxiety you are going through. Maybe they've been monitoring your posts and decided you sleep in a lifeboat.:rotfl:

Amanda
