“Official” 2025 Hurricane/TD/Weather thread for the 2025 hurricane season

Last week, it rained Tuesday and Friday while I was at the parks. Thankfully, it did not lightning.

Things to think about. Wet shoes. Have a spare. I think newspaper helps dry them best.

If rain persists, a poncho can get very hot on a 90 degree day. Maybe carry both umbrella and poncho?

Zip lock bags or something to keep things dry.

Waterproof or resistant purse, backpack, etc. I love my Disney Vera’s but they get soaked quickly.

Stores and quick service fill up fast during a storm. CM won’t let you sit in a store because it’s a fire hazard, so be prepared to walk or stand.

On Friday, TT was running in the rain. I’ve been on the ride during rain, and it doesn’t feel good getting pelleted by rain in a fast moving vehicle.

The good thing is rain chases people away. So wait times go way down.

Leaving Monday and starting to worry-we had a horrible trip during a hurricane once and we certainly don’t want a repeat of it - is probably too soon to panic though.

It’s definitely too early to start panicking. Most models have whatever it is veering right. It may not even become a full hurricane.

I’ll try to relax! Lol but for the sake of my trip and any people either heading there or living there, I hope for everyone’s safety as well!

We arrive tomorrow. While it doesn’t seem like they are calling for this to be a direct hit, I am thinking we will still have a very rainy trip.

I’m terrible at understanding these charts, when is it supposed to start? We have someone leaving Sunday and if I have to reschedule I’d have to be quick about it.

Youll be fine. People in these kind of instances like to jump to conclusions and act like its a category 5 hurricane thats going to blow right over the castle. It is literally nothing right now.

Definitely not anything to consider cancelling trips or anything like that. Just keep an eye on the weather and pack some extra rain gear. Over the next few days it may change to a tropical depression, then tropical storm, and possibly a hurricane depending on how much strength it gets. However, all the model forecasts currently state that it will stick to the east coast (orlando is not on the east coast, in fact most people flock to disney to escape hurricane weather).

I was there last year when Milton hit (a hurricane that directly made landfall over florida), and aside from the parks being closed for a day and some wind overnight, you never wouldve known a hurricane went over (which again, i stress, this is not a hurricane yet, and may not become one)
