Hey all, I am finally home (check the time) from my DLR weekend with my son. We had an AWESOME TIME. It was supposed to be REALLY CROWDED this weekend as in it was VERY HARD to get a hotel ressie, but those crowds did not materialize at the parks. . .(maybe they all heard the crowds would be horrendous and decided their first weekend should be doing San Diego or Universal). Whatever, it worked for us. The longest line we stood in was the expected longest line and that was for Toy Story Midway Mania. Talk about a FUN, FUN, FUN ride. We actually managed to go on it twice. We also did a BUNCH of stuff we have not done in a while just because we didn't experience heavy crowds at all.

I'll post more about the experiences after I sleep and then wake up later. I have been driving forever and am way too wired up on caffeine to sleep but want to go through all my pictures and upload them to my photobucket for later today. But I have to go to the store and get some REAL FOOD. .

The low crowds thing was a fluke I am thinking. . .at DLR there are NEVER low crowds and especially on a Saturday. . .but hey, I had fun. . .

I can count on one hand the number of times I have been during the week during the slowest months of the year and still the crowds were not this low. . .though there were TONS of people in the park. . .the lines just didn't materialize. . .amazing but true. .

ok today I am working from about 7 am to about 11 pm in order to have a wonderful Independence Day weekend that does not involve work! I have this obscene urge to banana dance, but I am supressing it. lol I don't know to post most of the emoticons from my phone beyond the simple smile But if I could, I would dance.

oh and the weather is amazingly beautiful, and I think it is only because I'm working all day. If I was off, it would be raining. Seriously.

Oh my backyard finally dried up! I was able to chop down most of the jungle back there by the pool that used to be a swamp! Now it is a nicely trimmed patch of grass. I love it.

I hear you on that one. . .the funny part about it is my son was actually noticing the short lines and walk ons. . .he kept going. . ."it is Saturday, right mom?". . .priceless. You have to understand that we go about every other month for at least 2 days at a time, so we are very familiar with the way the crowds work and know how to work the fastpass system to our advantage. We know where to go first and get fastpasses, which standby lines to wait in and not bother with fastpass and when to walk away from a ride and come back later. We didn't have to do ANY of that on Saturday. . .we would go to get a fastpass like normal and find no line, so we would just ride. . .it was awesome.

Good morning everyone!!!!!!

I actually got everything done yesterday that I wanted to get done!! It was great!! I went and saw Wall-E with Tawney. I have a new favorite Pixar movie, that is all I am going to say.
It is very cloudy and rainy this morning blah... However, I am heading out of town for the weekend and hopefully the weather will be better. Have a great holiday and a great weekend!!

I just have to say that I am very glad that when I do have a 3 day weekend it does not revolve around a holiday. . .don't think my nerves could take it. There are SOOOOOO many cops on the road right now cause this is a huge weekend in Vegas. . .scary

Nice pics, Darcy! I went to DL and CA 6 years ago and it was awesome. I definitely thought there were attractions there that are better than WDW like the Haunted Mansion and Pirates.
