Where was the info on the Castaway Club tiers!! I have 5 cruises and REALLY REALLY want the Wonder Repo!! Can my TA book for me early?

I am sure we will go the day the ship comes into port for the first time for the 'welcome party' though! That will land on my DD's birthday!

I wonder if the Wonder will come into Victoria on the LA - Vancouver repo - a welcoming party would be fun....

I know that everyone is excited about Alaska; but honestly, this kind of news breaks my heart. We have been saving up for a couple of years, and were really looking forward to a "private island oasis." Now, we will likely be sailing to a construction zone. Not an oasis at all. IF we even get on the island, as it is possible construction could shut down CC altogether. The date is non-negotiable. So, I may be forced to change to a WDW vacation for that week if CC is going to be a wreck. All that planning for nothing...

I would be stunned if they ever closed CC. I do not believe that's even feasible -- to deny passengers a trip to their island when it is such a huge draw. I wouldn't worry about it -- and I'm sure the only "construction" that may be noticeable is at the dock. Disney will probably keep the construction of the new features for non-docking days so as not to interfere with the guests (and for safety reasons).

On the Castaway Club Member Benifits page, it says that Gold & Plat members:

Early Booking Opportunities
Be among the first to book our newest itineraries and ships 7 days before the general public.

So, if that's true, Gold & Plat members should be able to book these cruises on Sept. 21st

Under the new Castaway Club Tier, cruiser who have been on 5 or more cruises can even book earlier than 9/28.

Yes I see that, just unfortunate that in order to get the best price we will need to book straight away and that means no onboard booking discounts as by the time I sail I imagine prices will have started to rise....

Regarding CC construction, there will be two weeks in early October when CC will only be used one day per week while the Wonder is in drydock. This should give them even more time to make progress. :)

Wonder if there will be SoCal resident and/or Vancouver resident rates for the WC itineraries???

I sure hope so. After all it's only fair if they do that and they may get pleanty of e-mails asking why or why not. I am all for a discount :cool1:

Then they need to get that info out to those members soon since booking is just 2 1/2 weeks away.

yup yup yup. Also if we will also get a discount.

When will they announce the Dreams prices and destinations???????

Barb: What type of work are they doing?

And a BIG question for anyone who has done Alaska -- since they didn't get the required permit to do Glacier Bay, are there other such areas they will sail that includes glaciers and/or the cascading (probably wrong term) of the ice off the cliffs?

Tracy Arm Fjord with Sawyer Glacier at the end is beautiful. I'll see if I can post a pic later when DH comes home.

Pretty cool to see ice floating in the water.

In Juneau, it's fairly easy to get a bus to Mendenhall Glacier.

Not sure about the "Dream". He only mentioned the keel pieces and the weight of it (WOW, how interesting!!!)

Hopefully, we'll get some info soon, perhaps on the DVC Members Cruise this weekend.

Where are the dates? I am not finding them at the DCL website or on the DCL events 2011 site!

I was able to get the info on the Van to LA repo n 2011

I am debating right now...we head on the Magic on October 10th for our cruise...I am wondering if I should wait and book Alaska when we are onboard or book it now through a TA????

I vote for a Washington/BC res discount. :rotfl2:

I have a question about booking now. If I book Alaska on 9/28 when the booking opens, could I cancel and re-book it and get the OBC and re-booking discount when I'm on the Magic in November (assuming it would be cheaper with the discount in November)?

It seems the DCl website is fixed, I have been able to get to all the new cruises. Hooray:cool1:

Castaway Cay is quite big - you'll still be able to find a private island oasis - especially if you are heading over to Serenity Bay.

My understanding is that no active construction happens while a ship is at the island, so you won't have construction noise. Just go and enjoy.

Yes, you can take your ressie number and give it to the CM at the rebooking desk [or fill out a form requesting a quote and tell them that you have the existing resie]. They will tell you if they can get you a better price or not.
