I wanted more dream info like deck plans specifically cabin info ... we were on board when the CC info was released nothing new there and those pictures have been out for weeks

CC still looks lovely they are doing an excellent job of only doing construction when guests are not there and we were told the island would not shut down at any point for construction, but i guess that could change

when we were there you could clearly see major construction equipment to the right of the pier but my day was just as amazing with it there

I know that everyone is excited about Alaska; but honestly, this kind of news breaks my heart. We have been saving up for a couple of years, and were really looking forward to a "private island oasis." Now, we will likely be sailing to a construction zone. Not an oasis at all. IF we even get on the island, as it is possible construction could shut down CC altogether. The date is non-negotiable. So, I may be forced to change to a WDW vacation for that week if CC is going to be a wreck. All that planning for nothing...

We were just at CC two weeks ago. Aside from a large crane that you can see, there is not an overly large indication of construction going on. We did see workers working near the dock, but that is it. There was definitely not enough to make me feel it ruined the CC experience. The new water slide area is on the opposite side of the family beach area (across the walkway). From the ship I had binoculars and could see all the lumber, etc. I wouldnt think that the construction of it would interfere with the existing areas of CC.

Help! I can see the 7 night itineraries to Caribbean for 2011 but not the 3/4/5s to Bahamas. Can anyone see the Bahamian sail dates for 2011??

I would love to be on the LA to Vancouver repo, especially if they stop in SF and/or Seattle. Unfortunately, it will be the end of April and DD is in school. Unfortunately, the repo at the end of the summer is going to be when DD starts school too. Oh well.

Why did they have to open bookings so soon though!? I am not onboard until Oct 31st and have no dummy dates to move across! Looks like no OBC for me!!!

Wonder if they will be offering any discounts or OBC for these new itineries?

No mention of Hawaii, huh.....or did I miss it....computer froze a few times.

I'm doing my happy dance. As I've said before... I don't care where Disney is sailing to... I AM THERE! I've already sailed the Alaskan Inside Passage twice but Princess Cruise Line can't compare with DCL. That's a fact. Count me in on the Panama Canal. My bags are packed and I'm ready to go. Just put me on a Disney ship and I'm happy!

We were just at CC last week and construction has begun for expanding the dock for the new ships but other than seeing it when we arrived you would have never known it was happening. I don't think DCL will shut down CC there are many ways to expand without disrupting cruisers.
Same here ...how stupid frustrating is that :lmao:
Very, it's like,, "ok here's all kinds of new and exciting cruises to go on (but you can't get any info on them)." :lmao:

Oh well, I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

The Castaway Cay changes are supposed to be finished in April 2010. This came from one of the employees who lives on the island. He told me 2 weeks ago while we were there.

Sounds good to me, we will be at CC on Tuesday 4/20/10 for my 55th birthday!!! :thumbsup2

Barb: What type of work are they doing?

And a BIG question for anyone who has done Alaska -- since they didn't get the required permit to do Glacier Bay, are there other such areas they will sail that includes glaciers and/or the cascading (probably wrong term) of the ice off the cliffs?

Our honeymoon had the same ports, including the fjord, and with the addition of Glacier Bay. We took a bus trip in Juneau to Mendenhall glacier and it was a very pretty park. BUT the amazing calving of the glaciers we only saw at Glacier Bay.

I cannot understate how amazing Glacier Bay was. You could definitely have a very nice trip without going there, but at this point I have to say I strongly advise cruising with another line to go to Alaska. Glacier Bay is...breathtaking.

Also, we did the gold panning excursion they showed in the video. They told us at the end that gold was never actually found in AK (they plant a little in your pan for you.)

Agreed, with the island not being used 4 out of the 7 days of week, a lot of construction can be done without anybody there.

Wonder if there will be SoCal resident and/or Vancouver resident rates for the WC itineraries???
