ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

Here's an off topic question. I have been to WDW many times. Somehow I had never heard of crowd calendars until this year. I was quite excited when I found my first one. Anyway, I was wondering on thoughts and opinions from anyone on what is the most reliable one, or if any of them really are reliable. Thanks in advance.

I have a subscription to Touring Plans and also use EasyWDW. I like them both for different reasons. I find Josh's rationale behind his park picks and crowd predictions more comprehensive and more fun to read. He's witty and makes me laugh all the time. I like to compare the two, and they are usually in line with the other. However whenever there's been a discrepancy I've found Josh at EasyWDW was the one who was on the money.
TouringPlans tend to release the numbers earlier and they are almost always too low and adjusted as park hours come out. For that alone, I'd put more faith in Josh and check his numbers first.:)

Wow, go to a couple meetings and come back and 2 more pages! Yes, this is my kind of crew. I keep looking at the same pages every day hoping something new will develop so I can make some sort of official change to my ADRs or Reservation. I am jumping out of my skin excited.

I love this group!! We're all so excited and help one another pass the time until our trips!:goodvibes

QOTD!

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

We are driving. I can't remember when my husband put in for leave, but if it's not till that day we'll leave at lunch time, although I'm hoping to leave a little earlier so we can check in, relax and head to DTD for dinner at T-Rex.

QOTD Calling Everybody! -lurkers too- Check in with your days left and excitement level :dance3: or :sad2:

43 Days!!!!!

A guy I know just came back from Disney with second degree sunburns covering his legs! His wife is fine and remarks on what fun they had, so I don't think he was aware of it as it happened.
I am soooo super concerned about sunburn. I know that we will bathe in 75SPF sun lotion and wear hats - as of right now everyone in my family wears hats at Disney. One of my medications makes me photosensitive - super easy burns, guess I will have to reapply regularly. Can I pack those big 20oz bottles of sunscreen in my checked luggage or should I have it shipped to my resort?

We have the first (and only) flight out in the morning and hopefully will be checking into SSR by 10:30 am (arriving at MCO at 9:15). Unfortunately that means we had to take 'the only' flight home which is a morning flight (10am). We always take night time flights but Frontier was less than 1/2 of what Southwest was when we booked and direct. So we'll 'suffer' and maybe I won't be so wiped out when I go to work the next morning (since I'm feeling hungover when we take those night time flights and I go home and unpack and start laundry), ugh.

Double check and tripple check your flights going and coming! We flew with frontier 2 years ago out of montana and somehow on our way home our connecting flight didn't exist! They didn't notify us at all!!! It sure was fun to find out when we arrived in denver that there was no connector back to Billings! That was at MIDNIGHT!

In your checked luggage it should be fine, but be sure to pack it in a ziploc incase of spillage...wouldn't want to wreck your clothing!

40 days from today!!!!!!!:dance3:
It is our first time to Boardwalk and AOA LM (just 1 night though:()
We are also traveling with friends for the first time! The only downside it is it will mark the near end of our summer when we return since we are both teachers:) :teacher:

QOTD! (The benefits of waking up at 5:30 in the morning for no apparent reason lol)

We have a 6 am flight and land at 8:30:) We had a similar flight in December and we were eating brunch at CR by 9:45 am and in AK by 11 am:) Hoping to have the kids wear their bathing suits on the plane so we can head to the water park as soon as we get there after we check in.

Welcome!! We will be in Epcot on the 19th and MK on the 23rd too!! I'll have my LGMH on my backpack!
Another person in EP on the 19th! We should arrange a meet!

We're in Epcot on the 19th as well! Let me know if you're planning to meet up - I think that would be so much fun!

Lucky! I have never gotten any before and I am SO LOOKING FORWARD to this mail!

Hope you get yours soon!!! :goodvibes

At what point do they arrive? Is it relative to when you leave?

I'm really not sure. We are about 34 days out, but I have gotten it early (at like 40 days), and WAY later (at like 21 days). Just like a lot of other stuff--not really sure!! But when it comes, it sure does put a smile on your face!!!!

Yeah!!! That means ours should be on its way too! (Goes through TA first). That is if I don't change anything else... :-/

I'm SURE its on its way!! Hope to see you there!!!!

Thanks, Pigletto. I had been looking at undercovertourist, but wasn't sure what to make of it. I will probably just take it with a grain of salt. The only plans that are set in stone are the flights and the dining ressies. Otherwise, if a park is too busy, we'll hop somewhere else. It is always nice to know kind of what to expect on certain days though. I will have to check out the sites you mentioned.

Has anyone had their kids hair cut at the main street barber shop? I'm trying to decide if I want DS to have his first cut there. I'd hate for us to look back and say "Oh remember when we started our vacation with butchering Noahs hair!?"

We used a touring plan last time and while it seemed that reality was in agreement with the site for overall crowd number , we visited the recommended and park to avoid and they both seemed equally busy.
EasyWDW has two of our parks as park to avoid and the other two parks as the next park to avoid. But I'm being optimistic and deciding to really like crowds. Being sandwiched next to sweaty strangers in a foreign land will be my cup of tea. I'll be carpe-ing the crap out of the diem. (;

We have had our son's hair cut twice there. They do a really nice job. The last time the Barber shop quartet even came in and sang. The stylits had colored hair gel. They made a Mickey head on the back of DS's head. It was really cute. One time we were there for the Halloween party, so they gel was in orange and white. I would reccomend it.

LOL! I think I will be carpe-ing the crap out of the diem as well.

We did! DS 15 had his first haircut at 18 months. It was very cute. They blew bubbles, played with him and gave us Mickey ears with "my first haircut" embroidered on the back and a certificate with a lock of his hair.
