ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

QOTD! (The benefits of waking up at 5:30 in the morning for no apparent reason lol)

What time is everyone landing in Orlando and what do you do for your first day?

We are scheduled to land just before 6:30 pm. We are on the only non-stop of the day out of Syracuse via JetBlue, and the flight leaves just after 3 o'clock. We plan to enjoy the resort that evening, with no other firm plans after a tiring travel day.

BTW.. for anyone looking for a rental car, Dollar and Alamo rates are dropping and I just got a 9 day standard car for $206 with Alamo:cool1:
That's really a Full-Size though because Alamo doesn't have a standard aisle at MCO.

Those low Alamo rates elude me. Still really high for my specific dates. But I'm watching! ::yes::

You are probably on your way by now, but have fun!

Thanks :goodvibes . We are currently on the 25th floor of the Delta Chelsea, with a sparkling view of the city. Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow until Monday! :cool1:

I usually try to get one of the first flights out so this time we are leaving JFK at 7:30 and landing at 10:10. Hopefully, we'll be at Pop by 11-11:15. I don't usually make plans for the first day since you never know what can happen with flights. So once we are checked in, we get on whichever bus comes first (as long as its one of the parks easywdw has as a recommended park). On the 16th, it's MK, HS, or AK. We are going to AK the next day so we'll either be at MK or HS and then DTD for dinner :)

We drive from PA and will be staying in St. Augustine the night before. We'll wake up early and be arriving in WDW and having breakfast at WCC at 10:00am and then will head to POR to check-in/check out the resort. Later on that night, we'll do EMH at MK, but otherwise there is no plan. My family will love that!

Have a great weekend Gina!:)

It's my moms birthday this weekend so we'll spend some time with my family and we're also spending a night with my inlaws and seeing the fireworks. We have mostly low key family plans for the weekend. Looking forward to it.
Monday will be a tidy the house and lounge around day and then it's back to work.
Only 8 more weeks until Disney!:yay: It still feels like such a long way away sometimes!

Has anyone had their kids hair cut at the main street barber shop? I'm trying to decide if I want DS to have his first cut there. I'd hate for us to look back and say "Oh remember when we started our vacation with butchering Noahs hair!?"

My son gets his haircut there every time we go, well noit only my son I also get mine, this will actually be our 3rd haircut at HB for this calendar year:banana:, They do a great job, I would recommend making a reservation if you are going, we always make ours for 12noon, since 12-12:15 is the best shot of the Dapper Dans stopping in:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness! I get busy for a few days and we're on page 39 (looks like I just brought it to 40!!!) already! I guess we're excited. :)

Like a few others in here, our first day is the 18th, so as soon as we drop off our things in our room we are headed to MK to ride Jungle Cruise before it closes. Also, it's really fun to hit MK on the first night. ;)

I have a QOTD, providing it hasn't been asked yet in the posts I may have missed in these 39 pages -- ARE YOUR SUITCASES OUT YET??

We have had our son's hair cut twice there. They do a really nice job. The last time the Barber shop quartet even came in and sang. The stylits had colored hair gel. They made a Mickey head on the back of DS's head. It was really cute. One time we were there for the Halloween party, so they gel was in orange and white. I would reccomend it.

LOL! I think I will be carpe-ing the crap out of the diem as well.

What about a girl's first haircut? DD is 2 and has really long hair. Hasn't been cut yet!

No, our suitcases are not out yet. I usually bring them out a little after the 4th of July and start putting things in them from our Disney bins (things we only use at Disney). Also I tend to start packing any of the new "Disney clothes" I've collected.

I like to slowly pack rather then at the last minute; otherwise I tend to forget ALOT!:rolleyes1

We are arriving from Hartford. I think it leaves around 8:30 and gets in just after 11. We will check in and sit by the pool and then go to chef mickeys for dinner at 5, come back, swim, watch water parade and wishes and go to bed.

Oh thanks for the tip!

I did online check I. Few weeks ago. No glitches so to speak. I checked off my 2 room requests and hope I get them but if not I can ask once I get there. Heck...I will be happy to have a room at the poly, so I don't care where.

I entered my cc and now I have to think about what I entered as a pin....

No suitcases out yet. I probably won't start packing until the week before we go. So the third week of August for us. For our summer trips we need to pack the clothes we are wearing every day so I have to wait until it's almost time to go.:)

Gina, We were so annoyed that JetBlue ended the 6AM direct SYR to MCO. That plus the $600 savings for a party of 4 means a trip to BUF for us. Save a bit more time for security at SYR than you are used to- the renovations are finished, security has been consolidated, and it is a bit bottlenecked at times. They may work out some glitches before August, but I understand it's been a bit longer wait than it used to be.

DisMeet Plans
Aug 20th EP ::MickeyMo
How about 3pm at the UK Phone Booths? I figure this is after luncha and before Dinner, unlikely to bump into any ADRs.
Thus far momto3gr8boys and Loreli

Anyone remember the Disney paint chips with the Mickey heads? Dis'ers used to make pins outta the lime green ones? Anyway now you can purchase the Disney paint at WalMart, however the paint chips are just like normal paint chips with a little gray Mickey head in the corner. I was disappointed to see the change, however I am sure they will not loose $ on people taking these new chips. Glad we have our own LGMHs!

I just found this thread!! We (myself, DH, DS11 and DS5) will be in WDW staying at POR from Aug 19-26.

AUG 20 - MK - BOG 7:20pm (celebrating DS 's 12 B-day)
AUG 23 - MK - Kona Cafe 6:30pm

We are also at BOG 7:20 on the 20th - maybe we will see you there!

Welcome!! We will be in Epcot on the 19th and MK on the 23rd too!! I'll have my LGMH on my backpack!

We will be in MK on the 20th and 23rd. I'll have my LGMH on my backpack too. If you see us please say hi. It's always fun meeting other disers!

QOTD - we have a late flight arriving in Orlando at 7:45pm as it was the same price to add a day and take the later NS flight. We will eat a late dinner at the resort and settle in. The next day we are hoping to pick up our package tickets early go to MK and then dinner at T-Rex and exploring DTD. If we can't pick up the package tickets early we will spend the day at the resort pool and go to DTD for dinner.

48 days and counting! :cool1:

Not yet but soon! I'm making a list of things i need to buy and in the next two weeks the piles will start. In about a month we'll have the suitcases out and started to be packed. I'll slowly make the kids available clothing piles smaller as my suitcases get fuller.

We're at 48 days and sooo excited! Happy Canada Day my fellow Canadians and happy Independence day to all the US too!!! Have a great holiday weekend!

No suitcases here for the same reason, although I do have my list going so I don't forget anything.
