I called and there was no PIN attached to my name -- usually, when I do get them, they always come to my email in my mom's name (she is not coming with us), so it's probably better I didn't get the email. It would have just made me sad.

I did, however, make a dummy account in DH's name and used it to order a planning DVD and price out a dummy trip for our dates. I even set up a new gmail account for it. I'm a woman obsessed :lmao: Hopefully, it works! Not holding my breath though.

When you price out those trips make sure to save a variety of resort levels. At the bottom you can choose to "Save this offer".
Some people speculate that those trigger pin codes. I haven't ordered a DVD in years and either myself or my husband seem to get almost every pin:confused3

To pass the time since I have all of our ADRs all set (except for BOG) and there isn't much to do between now and then I started poking around at cruise times and costs for next year. We're considering doing a half and half trip where we do a few days at the parks and then a few days on a cruise. With our dates that we had in mind I think we could do 5 park days and then 3 cruise days to wind down. Of course 3 days on a cruise is the same price as a week at WDW but many have said it's a wonderful time. We've never cruised before so a short cruise sounds like a good intro. Also would be a nice way to wind down from a Disney trip since they can be pretty taxing.

To save money, I would highly recommend Royal Caribbean for your cruise. There were a lot of people on our last cruise that had just finished a Disney trip. You should definitely try pricing their cruises.

That's what we are doing, 4 days in Disney then a 4 night on Royal Caribbean - Enchantment of the Seas (the name of the ship fits the Disney theme for our Princess) LOL
Over $1,000.00 difference, we've gone on 2 Disney cruises so we also wanted a change.

Hmmmmmm.....maybe our DVD order is what triggered the PINs?

And yes, I just said "PINs". We have now received two. One to my work email and one to DH's personal hotmail account.

Wow, that's awesome! It's going to be a great trip.

Jealooouus. I am ready to cry about this, since we receive every other pin (granted, in my moms name). Figures we wouldn't get the one we could actually use!

It sounds like the PINS that are coming out are for our friends in the Great White North. I've gotten them in the past but wasn't able to take advantage of them due to scheduling. For the dates that were posted on this offer I wouldn't be able to use it either. I had ordered both a Cruise DVD and a Planning DVD in hopes of a PIN but when I called today I had nothing on the account. I still check my snail mail daily in hopes of getting some Mickey Mail but as of yet nothing.

I think for now I'm pretty content with our setup. The only thing I'd like to get is a BOG dinner ADR but if we don't get that on this trip it's OK.

Next planning thing is to start collecting little gifts and trinkets for the kids. This time I think they'll be left by Mater or Lightning McQueen instead of Ariel. We'll hit up the dollar store or Party City for various things. The kids love that stuff.

I might order some maps for the trip too, just need to figure out what we want on them... :)

I am sorry ... I didn't mean to make you sad  . If there was any way I could share, I would in heartbeat!!

We used to have a Party City here in our neck of the north and it was AWESOME! My DS loved it (he was about 5 at the time) and we used to get some super cool themed stuff there for cheap, cheap, cheap. Sadly, its been gone for many years :sad2: .... and I still miss it!

Congrats to everyone getting pins :cool1:

pigletto, so exciting that you switched to onsite - just makes you happy inside, huh :lovestruc

I got some pixie dust today too - after messing around (too much!) with my ressies for August, I needed to call today and "clean up" the ones I needed to cancel or revise. I got a wonderful and knowledgeable CM who was able to apply the 20% discount to the last four days of our trip :dance3: :yay: I have a 35% discount on the first three nights, using the current AP discount, and had the 15% AAA discount on the last 4 nights. But while on the phone, he worked some kind of magic and got me the 20%. It saved me another $122, bringing my grand total savings (from rack rate) to $1,204.06  :cheer2:.

Now granted, those Poly CL rooms are outrageously priced, and we'd never be able to afford them without a discount, but I'm still so excited when I look at that savings amount.

Hoping everyone else gets good discounts and lots of pixie dusted vacations :grouphug:

QOTD: Now that final August offers have been released this morning, are you adding onto or changing your reservation?

Answer: We did! We added one night at Port Orleans Riverside. We've stayed at French Quarter before, but are excited to try Riverside. I'm happy we'll actually have time to explore both Port Orleans resorts during this vacation!!

We added a night at POR, too! We usually drive to the airport the night before and take the first flight out in the a.m. I talked DH into just talking a late afternoon flight the day before and getting a RO reservation before our package. We figured we'd be paying for a night in a hotel either way. Now we get to spend another full day at the parks!

I love days when "Disney" fills my mailbox. I got my UT tickets and a box of tees I ordered from Disney Store for our trip.

sooooooo......

Flights set... check

UT Tickets in hand... check

Touring plans made... check

ADRs set... check (though of course I'll keep tweaking those!) :rotfl:

Now the waiting (), and keeping SOME things secret from the kids (like the fact that I added 2 days at CR for the end of our trip). We'll be there 8 days with family at SSR, but I wanted to have some "just us" time so when the room only rate came out this week I jumped on it. Today my youngest said "Someday I want to stay at that hotel that has the monorail inside it, where we see Chef Mickey." It was all I could do not to tell him!

That makes sense, and yay for adding another day at POR!

We'll have to do a room only the night before our package starts too. We fly in on Friday night and stay at the Marriott by the airport (free shuttle, decent hotel and was a very good deal) and then we were moving to Bonnet Creek. But now that we have free dining at POFQ, that doesn't start until Sunday. I think we'll book a LM room at AoA to check out the resort. I don't even think we'll do a park the first day but just take it easy, relax at the pool and head to DTD and go to Earl of Sandwich for dinner since the kids love it there.:)

Sounds great! We stayed at LM in September and thought it was fantastic.

DD wants to wear her princess dress at the airport. We're bringing 2 anyways (Cinderella for CRT and either Snow White or Belle for Akershus) so it would save room in the suitcase if she was already wearing it :rotfl: but do you all think it's okay to wear in the airport? I guess my main concern is leaving that trail of glitter across half the United States.

Lol to the glitter comment. If she wants to though, I would let her. :-)

If I had a daughter, I would definitely let her do it!! Just tell the TSA it's Pixie Dust!! pixiedust:
