Wow what a great Disney intro! Sorry to hear Natalie put on the brakes. This is why I have so much respect for parents who bring small children to Disney World. You really need to be self-sacrificing enough to put your own dreams and desires aside for the sake of your childrens enjoyment. I was happy to hear you got to ride the Haunted Mansion (favorite ride in MK) and I thought it was funny that your eldest was afraid and your youngest loved it.
Can't wait to see the room in Wilderness Lodge. DId you get bunkbeds?

As we rounded the corner and the castle came into view, my heart jumped into my throat and my eyes overflowed! I felt as if I was arriving home after a very long time away! I was finally here! I looked over at my family and was so happy to see that they too were enjoying that first precious sight!

My eyes filled up reading this part and remembering that I was feeling the same way when we first walked down main street! I can't wait to see my Disney home again soon!

Hey! I am so loving your comments! Thanks so much! I knew going into it that our first couple of days would be hectic so I expected to have to stop when the kids needed to! It makes for a better trip that way, I think!

No, we didn't have bunks! We had a "woods view"!? There will be pics later!

I'll come out of lurkdom......great report so far. Your kids are adorable. I am taking some friends and their kids to Disney with us in December and their daughter who is 8 has never been to Disney. I can't wait. I think it will be so fun to see her reaction to stuff. My daughter has been so many times now that the "newness" has worn off. She still loves Disney, but the first time reaction is not there with her anymore.

Can't wait to read more!!

I am joining in. Your girls are so cute. I remember the first time I took my daughter, she was 4. That trip was so fun with her seeing everything for the first time. My son's first trip was fun too, but he was only 1 when he was there for the first time, so he really didn't understand what was going on. I can't wait to hear more. I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to give you a teensy update on the family situation! I am feeling a bit better now, got that cold on the run! However, my baby girl, NAtalie seems to have come down with a case of....PINK EYE! YUCK!

She had to miss out on the Mother's Day tea at school yesterday and she had to skip a birthday party today and she will have to miss church tomorrow! Poor thing! She is a trooper though! Takes her eye drops without complaining at all! The doc said she should be fine to return to school on Monday though!

I will try to post another chapter by tomorrow evening! TRY being the operative word! Hope all the Moms have a super sweet mother's day! Hugs to all!

I worked at an elementary school for 22 years and if our students had pink eye and they were able to have drops/ointment for 3 times, they could come back to school. I hope your little one will be able to enjoy Mother's Day with you

It was getting close to 9am and I wanted the girls to use the washroom before we made the mad dash to Dumbo! We all used the washrooms and were downstairs outside the castle waiting for the rope to drop at exactly 8:57am!

Welcome! Thanks so much for your lovely compliments! I did plan this trip very thoroughly! I practically memorized the touringplans! I think next time we will be a bit more relaxed!

I apologize for the lack of pictures in this one! I was too mesmerized again!

Chapter 8: My afternoon Adventure!

Date: January 20th
Time: about 1pm
Place: Wilderness Lodge

She was just finishing up as Ken and Emily wandered in from their extended stay at MK! I waited with the kids while He went down and grabbed some food for himself and Em. I wasn't really hungry yet. When he returned I was ready to go! I had made a date to meet up with another DISer to watch the 3 o'clock parade!

Off I went on my merry way to meet up with another Snowbird! I took the bus over as it was just pulling up as I walk out the front doors! 5 minutes later I was at MK walking through the turnstiles! I hopped the train over to Frontierland found and used a washroom and then went to Sleepy Hollow to make my meeting.

I found a place to sit and wait. I waited...and waited, grabbed an ice cream sandwich, waited some more, and when it was almost 230pm, I figured she wasn't going to show so I decided to be on my way! Oh well, too bad! I thought about doing a ride on my own but decided it would better to get out of the park before the parade started!

I quick walked my way back through Frontierland and Adventureland and back down Main St and out through the turnstiles. I really didn't have to be back at the WL until 345 so I decided to have my own little adventure! I found the path that led from the MK over to The Contemporary and walked over there just to see what I could see!

A pleasant walk and only about 10 mins from the turnstiles to the front doors of The CR. I went in and wandered around the lobby and then went out the back towards the marina! I decided to take the ferry boat back to the WL and as I was waiting for the next boat I snapped some pics of the new BLT DVC builiding! Very Nice!

The boat arrived and I was thrilled to hear that we were making a stop at Fort Wilderness before going back to WL! A lovely ride, although a bit chilly! I was wearing only a light jacket and it was quite windy on the water! The ride was quick and I had a very nice conversation with a couple that had done a round trip ride from the Campground! I got back to the WL at exactly 330! Wow! So far I was very impressed with the Transportation at WDW!

Chapter 9: A dinner full of Character!

Date: January 20th
Time: 330pm
Place Wilderness Lodge

I entered our room very quietly as the lights were out and I knew the rest of my family was napping from the light snores I was hearing! They soon woke up and we we went down to collect our baggage and groceries from bell services!

It was now about 4pm and time to be getting ready for our 5pm ADR @ Chef Mickey's! We washed up and changed clothes and went out to catch the bus to the MK and then the Monorail over to the Contemporary! This was our first Monorail ride and Natalie wasn't so sure about it! She gripped that bar so tightly I thought her little hand might be sore!

We arrived at Chef Mickey's at exactly 4:45! We checked in and had our picture taken in front of the plate! We asked the CM if he would take a picture with our camera as well! He did and now we have the “plate picture” and we didn't have to pay $30 for it! (another DIS tip pays off!)

A little girl who I believe was celebrating her birthday was chosen to Officially open Chef Mickey's for supper! Our pager buzzed at exactly 5pm and we were seated right around the corner from the dessert section! I knew the drill so I encouraged my family to grab their plates and load up as quickly as possible before the characters started coming out!

We hit the buffet and WOW city! I have never been so overwhelmed at a buffet! There was so much good food and I didn't know where to start! I eventually found my way to the beginning of the line and started piling food onto my plate! Here is a picture of my first plate...

The girls are always good eaters and usually brave enough to try new and different things! We didn't even tell them there was a separate kids section! They ate a little bit of everything, I think! The only thing they didn't care for was the Mac and cheese! The characters started coming around and we very quickly were able to meet and greet with Mickey, Donald and Goofy!

Pluto and Minnie were held up somewhere I guess cause we saw them over on the other side of the restaurant but they never made it over to where we were! Oh well.

The parade and napkin twirling part was ever so much fun and the girls had a blast!

Dessert was fabulous and I probably ate way more than I should have! Emily very much enjoyed the ice cream sundae bar and Natalie was given carte blanche to have as many desserts as she wanted! (She is lactose intolerant so cannot eat ice cream)

We were done and ready to leave by 6pm! Which was great because I had a 6:30pm meeting to see JenJolt again! We just needed to pay the bill..... well, that took a lot longer than it should have.

Ken and the girls decided to go and explore the CR a bit while I squared us up. We would meet at the Monorail platform in 5 mins. That was the plan. Did it work? Nope!
