For our first full day in WDW I had an early breakfast planned. I was a little worried about how I would adjust to getting up early in the morning since I work until 12:30am and usually stay up super late and sleep until 10am, but apparently I need not worry because I woke up at 6:30am ready to go!
I drove us over to Fort Wilderness for our 8am breakfast reservation at Trail's End!
A word about reaching Trail's End. If you're at MK you can take a boat to FW which drops you off very very close to your destination, or once you reach FW by car or bus you just have to hop on the first internal shuttle you see and anyone of them will get you there. There are three different internal buses, but all of them make a stop back at the Settlement Depot, which is where you need to be for Hoop-De-Doo, Trail's End or the water launch.
They must have a lot of internal shuttle because there was never not one waiting there when we needed one this trip.
We quickly arrived back at the Settlement Depot and checked in for breakfast with a very chatty hostess.
We were seated right away in Jen's section. We had her last trip too and she is awesome! She was always right on the ball with drink refills, of which we needed MANY and she was so friendly and talked with us quite a bit.
I didn't get any good shots of the buffet here, but it is fantastic! Lots of options from cereal, to build your own yogurt parfaits, to pastry and bread and bagels and donuts and of course, Mickey waffles.
To drink we started out with their "Moonshine" beverage. I'm pretty sure that this is the same as the "Jungle Juice" beverage you can get at Boma and Jiko. In fact I think this same drink combo is in a lot of their breakfats locations like Kona and 1900 Park Fare too. I believe it is a Passionfruit, Orange, Guava mix. Someone please correct me if I am wrong!
I love the mason jars they serve your drinks in. Such a cute touch! They give you a little glass of the moonshine to start and if you want more they will refill it as much as you want. We refilled ours about a million times!
We'll start with Rob's plate from the buffet.
Starting at the top and working our way clockwise around the plate I believe I see their breakfast potatoes hidden in there, the bread pudding with pecan sauce, pulled pork eggs benedict, shredded potatoes, bacon and sausage.
Here is my plate.
I had the pulled pork eggs benedit, breakfast potatoes, bacon, a chocolate chip Mickey waffle, the bread pudding with pecan sauce and a slice of breakfast pizza.
Heaven! It's all so, so, so, so good. The pulled pork eggs benedit is served on a biscuit that was moist and delicious. It seems like an odd item, but it is my favorite thing on the buffet. The breakfast potatoes have chunks of beef in them which are so tasty. The french toast bread pudding is amazing and the sauce takes it to another level. I really love the brekfast pizza too. I like the red peppers on it a lot. And the Mickey waffle is of course, fantastic.
We both loved our breakfast. We had really been looking forward to returning here and it did not disappoint! It is definitely now our favorite breakfast spot in WDW. And for $17.99 the price is definitely right. I would pay that price for this buffet out in the real world in a heartbeat! I can't say that for a lot of places in WDW, but this is one of them. We were both so stuffed from one plate that we were done. Here is my full belly picture Rob made me pose for.
Oh goodness.
We tore through that buffet in record time and soon enough we were out the door and headed for MK. And guess what? We finally made rope drop in time for the show!!!!
It was so sweet! I loved it!
With full bellies from breakfast, we are off to take MK by storm!
