We had a great non-disney day at Gatorland. Last time we were there I saw an indoor surfing place I would love to try & the Brevard zoo has some kind of lazy river you can kayak through animal exhibits that sounds fun- I think it's 45min-1 hour outside of orlando.

If you stay offsite, having a table service reservation in the park you want to be in on a high capacity day can help you get in through the earliest phases of capacity closure. We were staying off site & that lunch at Crystal Palace is the only thing that got us into MK on New Years Eve.

We've driven from Delaware a few times & the advice about timing departure to avoid traffic around DC is the most important component of a good drive to Orlando. There's an app called I95 (I think) and it's got listings of everything that's at each exit going down 95- it's nice for planning stops.

Humidifier & ear thermometer. Sometimes they don't realize these come in handy until the first cold.

I would look at Emerald Island as well. Very close to Windsor Hills, well maintaned. Community pool not as elaborate, but we rented a 4bd/3ba house with private pool so it didn't matter to us. We rented through homeaway & were happy with it.

Check out intex brand. I know amazon & Walmart carry them & you can get a twin for less than $50. I have one for occasional guests & I've taken it if I was crashing somewhere overnight- it's more comfortable than a couch or sofa bed.
