Recently, we had 7:30 p.m. reservations when Wishes was showing at 9:30 p.m. We did not order appetizers, and we ordered entrees around 7:35 p.m. and dessert around 8:30 p.m. We were on the patio watching wishes just in time after dessert was served (and eaten). Perfect for us.

For us, the winner was Narcoosee's in 2013. Over three trips and 29 days total spent in WDW restaurants in 2013, we visited several restaurants to include many signatures. Narcoose's was tops with the perfectly cooked filet, lobster tails and delicious desserts. The ambiance and fireworks...

I would vote to keep the Dessert Party reservations. Garden Grill is fun to an extent, but I truly believe that the Dessert Party outshines the GG experience. We did the dessert party in Oct. 2012 and loved it! Maybe you can work GG into your schedule on another day...

Due to some weird rules, I find the NEED to wear a fanny pack only at the Universal parks. I don't (and won't) wear one at Disney as a personal choice, but I certainly wouldn't pass judgment on anybody who does. Do what best suits you and your family.

Since you are staying at POFQ (my fav. moderate) you may want to take advantage of the boat that goes to Downtown Disney and Port Orleans Riverside. It's a fun ride! Also, I would suggest checking out Elliot Dyson at POFQ & Bob Jackson at POR for FREE and GREAT musical entertainment.
