We're located in Colorado. I think there's a few others from Colorado on the board as well, or at least there used to be.
We've made the drive to WDW from outside of Denver (Parker actually) a few times. Takes about 3 days if we don't push things (which I don't like to do). Lately though...
We're planning a senior graduation trip for my daughter next March, and we're coming up short in points, so we're looking for 231 points to rent that can be used to book an 11 month ressie fro March 2005.
Thanks,

Well, that's what I get for not visiting the boards for awhile. Thanks for the info Dean.
I guess we've been too busy planning our 15 day stay at OKW this May/June and thinking about what we're going to do with the SSR points we bought on the last stay.
I'm not sure that they will transition the sales office over to SSR. They have quite the area at BWV dedicated to just sales, and they've already handled 3 or 4 resorts out of that area (BWV, BCV, SSR and maybe VWL - I can't remember for certain).
"A Private Affair" with Chef Gordon is a must do. He prepares a meal specially for you (I think this is done at the beach house now). He books up pretty far in advance, so you may want to contact the resort now for info.
Other activites you'll find out about when you arrive and can be...
You call member services and tell them you want to transfer points; give them the amount and the member number of the member to transfer points too. MS may ask you to follow up with a letter - they'll let you know.
I don't recall any restrictions on the amount of points, but you are only...
If the stay is on points, then they get trash and towel on the 4th day for stays shorter than 7 days.
If they must have a clean towel every day, then either it's a trip to the laundry room or they can choose to pay something like $6 for a new set of towels each day.
I agree that Rich is in the right ballpark. I've got email from Pete dated early '99 that talks about the forums going to a moderated format, and my memory says that happened mid '98 (though my email from that time period is spotty, so I can't pinpoint an exact date).
My suggestion would be to call the BWV front desk and find out what options might be available. As I recall, there isn't any RV parking generally availble at BWV (likewise with most if not all of the DVC resorts). However, I have seen small RV's parked from time to time at OKW (and 24' might...
I'm 99% certain that the phrase "quiet pool" was in our very first member handbook that we got when we bought our resale, which was just about the time that this board was really getting going. I've still got that handbook floating around my office, I'll try to confirm this.
Still, I think...
I'm an oldie. I wish I had found this site before our purchase, but it would only have made us more comfortable with the decision - purchased a resale, site unseen. Best money we ever spent.
Frankly, I can't get all that excited about this. Big deal, another place at WDW - it's not like they don't have enough already. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Now, if they were to announce something like a totally new location - that would be exciting news!
