    May 2013 - trip report day 1

Well, day 2 was certainly interesting. We set off around 8.45am for Magic Mountain. The drive from Oxnard was gorgeous, lots of orange groves, fruit stands and mountains. Several comments from dh and kids "are you sure we are going the right way?", it seemed such a rural area. All of a sudden...

Convinced the hubby he won't die on the flight to Disneyland. A May PTR

We leave in 20 days, but not arriving at DL until May 20. I've been reading the same threads as you, we will all be very sad if Soarin or Screamin are closed. DD#3 loves Soarin and she is finally tall enough for Screamin. Was reading earlier that it has also been closed for similar reasons...

    Who's Going Memorial Day Weekend?

We will be there Monday May 20th - Monday May 27th. DD#3 has her 7th birthday on May 26th, so we will definitely be in the parks that day!

Best movies to get acquainted with Disneyland characters?

As you will be there in September, Nightmare before Christmas would be a good one to watch. Jack is everywhere! Before our last trip I sat my 3 1/2 year old down in front of it (primarily so she wasn't scared) - Jack was the only character at DL that she actually hugged.

    Travel Insurance

We had travel insurance through AAMI on our last trip and will never use them again! DD6 (at the time) split her chin open at Hojo's water playground. AAMI chewed me out over not getting approval to have her chin stitched before taking her to the hospital. Um, I returned to our hotel room...

We are definitely planning on making reservations as soon as we can. It's all part of the fun for us to call from Australia and do this :goodvibes On our definite list is Carnation Cafe and Plaza Inn Breakfast. DD#3 will be turning 7 on our second last day at the park and we are trying to...

    14 day vacation pass question

DH called them on their main number - 132476 and spoke to a lovely lady in holiday packages. They are apparently being bombarded by requests for these :) Ticket prices were in NZ dollars - adults $378 and kids $353.

    14 day vacation pass question

I just thought I would update for those who are looking for these passes. Today we purchased 10 day passes from Air New Zealand :cool1: Total for 4 adults and 1 child was $1488 AU. They will be emailing the tickets tomorrow, but this price was significantly lower than what I've been quoted...

"Must Do" list for kids' first visit

My girls' favourite rides at 6 were Screamin', tower of terror and splash mountain. My youngest was 3.5 on our last visit and she was completely obsessed with Star Tours (we are talking twice a day, every day!). All she can talk about doing on our upcoming trip is riding both Star Tours and...

Add us in too :-) we will be at DLR between May 20-27. DH has booked the Islander, but I'm working on changing that if I can find a better deal/room elsewhere. We will have 10 day hopper tix, so will probably be in the parks every day. Our youngest DD will turn 7 on May 26 and she had huge...

Is a deluxe ap worth it?

We did this on our last visit, and I think it was well worth it. I still have the long expired AP :-) I won't be getting an AP for our trip this year because we are also at DL on Memorial weekend. DD's birthday is the 26th of May and I have promised her a very special day in the parks.

    14 day vacation pass question

I so wish they would figure out what they are doing. Qantas have just quoted me $1578 for 10 day hoppers (2 adults, 3 kids aged 11, 10 and 6).I know we have plenty of time before our trip, but I really want to get these sorted ASAP.
