    It's not Disney but...

CP beach is private, for hotel & park guests only. It's cleaned or "raked" in the evenings to keep the sand cleaner and free of debris. :beach: There is plenty of shade at CP, just probably not near the roller coasters! :p Food.....awful and over priced. Pack a picnic and eat in the...

    Advice needed - teenage son

Sounds like he needs something to do. Is he active in sports or clubs? If not, that's the first thing I might encourage. After school sports practices keep kids out of trouble. Why is he done with school so early? Can he take more classes? He needs to either be busy or supervised till you...

    Professor Docking Points

I think this is a wonderful way to look at it. Pretend school is your job (because it is! lol) If an employer wouldn't pay you to not be there, then a prof shouldn't be expected to "pay" you (in points) to not be there either. He didn't dock you points you earned already, so you shouldn't...

Can i whine a bit? update post #50

You poor thing :flower3: My "baby" is 17 and I remember that feeling like it was yesterday. It will get better and will be over soon! I agree with a PP who said to go get a massage. You will feel amazing when it's all over! If that's not available, why not a pedicure or something else to...

being FB 'Friends' with college aged & adult children?

I am FB friends with my college age & HS age daughters. When they first got FB accounts, it was the only way I would allow it. Now, they don't mind being FB friends with me :) Even some of College DD's friends have "friended" me on FB. Sooooo, guess she's ok with it! lol. Nowadays, they...

18 year old state of mind?

My kids never really got that attitude because in the teen years we gave them lots of freedom to do (reasonable) things they wanted to do. They are good kids, and made good choices. I saw a lot of my friends impose pretty strict rules & curfews on their children in an effort to keep them out...

Do you buy your adult children anything for valentines day?

Oldest DD is in college, and she got a little package with some valentine's treats & a card. Youngest is still at home. I always put a card and small gift (usually a box of chocolate) on their dinner plate when I set the table :) So she & DH will get their card and chocolate at dinner.

7 months pregnant and husband having an affair...what now?

Wow. I don't post here often, but I have followed your story. But the bolded part made me tear up! This is such a beautiful story. Your dad is a gem. Give him a huge hug for me, would ya? Also, the part about your H, made me tear up, but not in a good way. I just can't even...

Mary Poppins on tour question - any good?

Saw it on Broadway and loved i so much saw it again locally about a year later. While the Broadway production was better, it is definitely worth seeing on tour! In fact, I'm going to see it on tour again next spring. Great show!

Superficial vent, but hey, it's the Community Board, so why not?

OP, I agree with you completely! May I add my FB peeve since we're venting pettiness ;) I HATE HATE HATE the facebook "checklisters" Their status update might go something like this: Woke up! check fixed breakfast, check! drove kids to school, check! 7000 loads of laundry, check! Baked...

How long is reasonable for a callback?

If you know the landlord's name, try to find him on whitepages.com and give him a call. Tell him how his property manager isn't doing her job & ask if you can have his permission for the electrical work.

what's with the rash of bad judgement at natural attractions?

Not a natural attraction, but my DD works as a lifeguard at an indoor waterpark. Depending on which attraction she's working at, she could be pulling someone out of the water 4 or 5 times a day! One particular slide requires that you be a strong swimmer as the water is very deep at the...

    Nike Softball Camp

    Unique egg decorating ideas

We did the silk tie thing a couple of years ago. while they were pretty, not very vibrant. The colors were pastel & muted even with brightly colored ties. I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or if it was because the ties were old (we got them at the goodwill). It was a lot of work for...

    I saw Mary Poppins!

I have to agree with you, it's a GREAT musical. I've seen it twice now, once in NYC, and once on tour. It was awesome both times!!! I really wasn't excited when I heard we were going to see it in NYC (tour group) but it was A-MAZING!!! I loved it so much, we saw it again when it toured...
