Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

Wait a minute! I saw the Shake it Move it Celebrate it parade after I had went to the toilet! God I’m feeling Déjà-Vu right here! Are ya sure your not copying what I did on my trip, Mel? And it was the first thing I did in the Magic Kingdom I could wished I saw the Celebrate a dream come true parade because from what I’ve seen from video footage it looks stunning. What’s your opinion on the Shake it Move it Celebrate it parade, Mel? Too be honest it looks okay but it’s far from spectacular in my honest opinion anyway.

I’ve only seen the Tiki Tiki room via video footage from YouTube but that was a long time ago so I’ve pretty much forgotten what happens in that show. And besides it was pretty much closed when I was there for refurbishment. And I’m guessing that refurbishment was for the version of the show that you saw on your trip. To be fair the Iago version did have it’s problems and it was pretty universally panned by everyone else but it’s you I’m talking about so I’ll let you off this time anyway.

The cinnamon roll and the chilli cheese dog is good and all, BUT IT’S NOTHING COMPARED TO THE TACO HOT DOG IN TOMMORROWLAND BABY! OH YEAH! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Jl3G5S5SjkM/TR0hFhG4r6I/AAAAAAAALw0/I7pHmnhUKOg/s1600/Magic+Kingdom+06.JPG Mmm, Taco hot dog! (Drools like Homer Simpson)

I actually have quite a few pictures of me on the Liberty bell riverboat so expect those soon on my TR, Mel.

We have never found any paintbrushes either, but it has been a while since we tried.

Without pictures, I often forget the exact details or sequence of events as well. That is why Crap can no longer fully be in charge of the camera anymore. It seems like the pictures helped you figure out what happened. They are my only "notes" beside my memory of course. Both the hot dog and the cinnamon roll look amazing. I love Casey's and The Coke Corner at Dl. Main Street Bakery is my favorite even though the Boardwalk Bakery is quite good as well.

You really did get a lot of great shots on the Rivers of America.

Day 11 part 4 - "Brer Bear and Brer Fox Are Causing Some Troubles"
August 21th, 2011

After we stepped off the Liberty Bell Riverboat, we went on Splash Mountain.

DSC03797.jpg

We must have gotten FPs at some point, because we wouldn’t wait standby for that ride. Not that the line was *that* long anyway, as you can see from this picture.

DSC03798.jpg

I took some more photos of the line as we were walking through. Or maybe we did wait standby, since I had time to take pictures? Who knows!

DSC03802.jpg

DSC03803.jpg

I love the way they made the place where you get in the logs look like a little old miner town.

DSC03804.jpg

During the ride we heard this several times: “It looks like Brer Fox and Brer Bear are causing some troubles downstream.” I guess the problems from the morning had not been totally fixed and they were still having some trouble. I took this opportunity to take a couple of pictures inside the attraction.

481.jpg

476.jpg

And, of course, a red neck picture of our ride photo.

DSC03805.jpg

By then we had had enough of Frontierland and Adventureland, so we moved on to Fantasyland. We took the little wooden pathway, and got a paparrazi shot of Donald Duck meeting people.

DSC03809.jpg

We continued on towards our goal, but not before a visit with the Grim Grinning Ghosts though, where we got our heads switched. Sorry, no picture. We also stopped in the kitchen store so that i could buy a few souvenirs.

Once in Fantasyland we got Peter Pan fastpasses.

DSC03810.jpg

Then we watched the best of all WDW 3D movies, Mickey’s Phillharmagic.

DSC03811.jpg

Our stop in the land of Fantasy was quite short, and we went on to Tomorrowland, with a stop at Enchanted Grove for a raspberry lemonade slush. Ron posed in front of the New Fantasyland poster.

DSC03812.jpg

I think the only thing we did in Tomorrowland was a ride on the Peoplemover before we went back to Main Street for lunch. Ron insisted I take a picture to show that there was a wait for the Stitch ride.

DSC03813.jpg

On the bridge towards Main Street we stop for PP photos again.

Up Next, Celebrate A Blazing Hot Dream

Fun updates Mel! You got some really great photos from the Riverboat. Love the pics of Ron acting goofy, I can so rarely get my DH to do that stuff. :goodvibes

Ron has his moments. He can get really goofy sometimes, and other times be pretty subdued. But I love how Disney seems to bring out the kid in him more.

I actually have quite a few pictures of me on the Liberty bell riverboat so expect those soon on my TR, Mel.

Well you didn't go on the Tiki Room, so we were not copying your trip. ;)

I'm not a big fan of the day parades. I think it doesn't help that it's always so hot when you are watching them. But I don't mind just stopping by and watching a little.

I do love taco, so that hot dog does look yummy. But I'm more of a sweet tooth though.

We have never found any paintbrushes either, but it has been a while since we tried.

I just read this week that the Paintbrushes have been permanantly stopped. I don't understand why. It was a little something extra that did not take too much time of cost any money. :confused3

Almost every night, or when we were waiting for a show to start, or eating somewhere, I'd write in my trip journal. Not sure how much of that I,ll be able to do when I have a baby to take care of though. So I guess I'll have to rely on photos a lot more.

You're smarter than I am for writing things down. I rely on pictures to remind me. That is why you'll rarely see me write about what we ate. Crap rarely takes pictures inside restaurants, so who knows what we ate at most of them? :lmao:

We have not been on Splash Mountain for a long time, and I think Xander has only been on it once in his life. Maybe, we should do that on our next trip.

I have never done the Stitch Experience, but Crap and Xander did. It is a show with vibrating seats. That is probably the only reason there was a ten minute wait. They had to clear out the previous show first. If it is still there next trip, I am going to go in there. Okay, maybe not.

Oh well it was worth a shot asking your opinion on the Shake it Move it Celebrate it parade anyway. From the look of it that parade looks pretty cheap and just the whole concept of a "Street Party" is kind of what's the word? Oh cheesy and embarrassing really. Still wished I saw the Share a Dream Come True parade because it really does look stunning but whatever.

A sweet tooth eh? How do you fare with sweets, chocolate and the like? If I were to have a chocolate bar it would be a Mars Bar cuz it's glorious.

I did try to go on Splash Mountain but when we arrived there it was 60 minutes long so we had to skip it unforunately. And from what I've heard Splash Mountain has a ton of problems regarding the ride itself so yeah and it seriously needs a rehab on that one trust me it does.

Mickey's Philharmagic! Hell yes! I love that show! I definatly want to see that show again when I go back definatly! It's probably only second behind Fantasmic in terms of a show for me. Disney really outdid themselves when it came to this show cuz the CGI animation here looks amazing.

Not sure why you had to take a picture of the wait time for Stitch's great escape. Not that you would care about it but whatever.

Hey Mel!! I'm loving your last few updates! Can you believe I have never been on the big steamboat? I'm putting it on my list! Looks like great views from there!

Your pictures are all fantastic. I totally agree with about the cinamon bun. It's the best!

Finally caught up from the last month away! Great updates and can't wait to hear more about the baby. How are you doing ? Is the induction set for anytime soon?

I love the Jungle Cruise. I hope it never goes away!

I totally agree!

Ron and I reread our trip journals from time to time, so i hope I can find the time to continue writing them even with kids.

Splash Mountain is one of my favorite attraction! You should totally do it again next trip.

The only reason why I kinda want to try the Stitch Experience is because I'm such a Stitch fan. Too bad it gets 98% bad reviews...

As you will see from my next update I did enjoy the Celebrate A Dream Come True parade, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more on a cooler day.

I eat chocolate all the time. I like Mars bar, but I prefer Aero, or anything that is pure chocolate, without the added stuff (nuts, caramel, etc) Right now though my biggest craving is chocolate ice cream. Yum!

Splash Mountain does have problems from time to time, but we rode it several times and only encountered real problems that one day. But you totally need fastpass though, otherwise the wait is too long.

Since Stitch's Great Escape gets such bad reviews, Ron was surprised that people would be willing to wait to go on it, even if it was just 10 minutes.

Hi Nikki! In all your numerous trips you have never been on the steamboat? Wow! I think what helps us try all those less popular attractions is that we don't have Park Hoppers and we don't like taking breaks. Since we end up spending entire days in a park, in the afternoon we seek the more relaxing and less popular things to do, as our way to "take a break".

Thanks. And Yum to that cinnamon bun. I have yet to find one that even comes close to tasting as good as that one.

Finally caught up from the last month away! Great updates and can't wait to hear more about the baby. How are you doing ? Is the induction set for anytime soon?

Thanks! I'm trying to do as many updates as I can before Peanut gets here. I guess in all my Disney updates, you missed some of the real life ones. I had another ultrasound at the end of May and she is not as small as they thought, so they won't be inducing me. Yay! :cool1: Though I am hoping she will come close to my due date and not super late.

Day 11 part 5 - Celebrate A Blazing Hot Dream
August 21th, 2011

At this point in the trip we were not following regular eating hours, so it was about 3pm when I decided I was hungry for lunch. In the hub we came across the “Celebrate A Dream Come True” parade.

It was okay, but we were blazing hot. So we were glad when it was over. Since Ron had had a good experience that morning, I decided to try Casey’s corner for myself. I got a regular hot dog, and it was very tasty. I think we ate on the bleachers inside, watching old cartoons.

I think this picture was taken in the hub somewhere.

Can you believe it when I say we took even MORE PP pictures in front of the castle? Well, here they are!

Back to Tomorrowland we tried Monsters Inc Laugh Floor for the very first time.

It was hilarious! I had heard about the no taking pictures inside the theatre, but I thought it was just during the actual show. I got “yelled” at (more like a warning) by a CM for taking these. Oops!

DSC03831.jpg

I believe it was at this point that we watched Carousel of Progress, though I have no pictures to prove it. It was nice, but it made me sleepy. I know at some point we got Space Mountain FPs and rode it at a later time, but exactly when is a mystery. What I do remember is I got the front seat! Yay! :cool1: According to the time stamp of this picture, it was about 5pm by then.

Up Next, “My beast Is Hairier And Taller Than Yours”

God these are marvellous pictures, Mel. Again the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade is something I should've seen on my trip but oh well Mickey's jamming jungle parade and the MSEP were good enough for me and I guess there's the next trip anyway so I'm good.

The castle as ever looking majestic! Uh so to speak that is.

Hahaha! You got told off by a cast member for taking pictures at the Laugh Floor! You are officially a regenade canadian woman for life! Screw the rules she's got a camera and she's not afraid to use it! Careful it flashes.

You got the front row seat on Space Mountain? Congratulations you get a pointless Xbox 360 achievement!

Really they have cartoons at Casey's corner? Awesome sauce.

I am really enjoying your TR! :thumbsup2

I love Mickey's Philharmagic too!!! My DS5 LOVES Donald Duck (he's borderline obsessed with him!!) and he gets SOOOOO mad at the end when they shoot Donald Duck out through the wall.

That cinnamon roll looks YUMMY!!! Oh and I was eyeing the hot dogs too!! I'm such a food person! I could literally eat my way around Disneyworld and never get tired. I love the food as much as the rides!

I love Monster's Inc Laugh Factory. It is probably my favorite MK attraction. I could watch it all day. Glad you enjoyed it. Yum to the Casey's.

Day 11 part 6 - “My beast Is Hairier And Taller Than Yours”
August 21th, 2011

It seems that after our ride on Space Mountain we walked around the castle and stopped at Cinderlla’s fountain. I wanted a picture with the crown lined up.

DSC03832.jpg

Then we ended up on the Liberty Square side, where we got these pictures taken. I love these reflection photos.

DSC03833.jpg

DSC03834.jpg

It seems that there was a PP nearby, because we also got these.

Photo0685FourBySix.jpg

Photo0690FourBySix.jpg

Back on Main Street we went through all the stores on the Emporium side. We bought a few things, including this adorable onesie for our nephew. Funny story, we found the exact same onesie, but for girls, at our local Walmart last month and bought it for Peanut. I’m pretty sure we paid a lot less at Walmart... LOL

Once we got to the end of Main Street we went to the other side of the Train Station (as if we were exiting), because we had seen a photopass person there when we had taken the train earlier. I wonder if anybody is keeping track of how many PP photos we took, because it seems like every update I’m writing about that!

On our way back in the park we noticed a 10 minutes wait for the Princesses, so we jumped in line. Well, the non-existent line, because we practically walked right in!

496.jpg

In less than 5 minutes we were meeting with Cinderella. She was not very chatty.

Photo0711FourBySix.jpg

Photo0717FourBySix.jpg

Second was Belle, who mentioned that her Beast was much hairier and taller than mine.

Photo0722FourBySix.jpg

Photo0727FourBySix.jpg

Photo0730FourBySix.jpg

Ariel was by far the best of the three princesses. Ron and her had a lovely conversation about how great it was that she had her legs that day and could meet her fans.

Photo0734FourBySix.jpg

Photo0737FourBySix.jpg

Photo0741FourBySix.jpg

When we got out we saw a 5 minutes wait for the Mice, but the line actually looked way longer, so we opted not to meet them.

Up Next, Going 'Round The Mountain

God these are marvellous pictures, Mel. Again the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade is something I should've seen on my trip but oh well Mickey's jamming jungle parade and the MSEP were good enough for me and I guess there's the next trip anyway so I'm good.

Really they have cartoons at Casey's corner? Awesome sauce.

Mickey's Jamming Jungle parade was my favorite of the day parades, so it's good you got to see it. It's not as beautiful as the MK one, but I find it's the most *fun*.

Rebel woman I am. pirate: :rotfl:

What can I tell you, it's the little things, like getting front row seat, that make me happy. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

The cartoons at Casey's are in a little separate room, to the back. I had read about it here on the Dis before going.

I am really enjoying your TR! :thumbsup2

I love Mickey's Philharmagic too!!! My DS5 LOVES Donald Duck (he's borderline obsessed with him!!) and he gets SOOOOO mad at the end when they shoot Donald Duck out through the wall.

Thanks, and :welcome: Donald Duck is one of Ron's favorite. LOL at your son being upset that he gets shot through the wall. So cute!

I'm a picky eater, yet can find SO MUCH to eat at Disney. But Ron could definitely eat his way around WDW. Except he loses a bit of his appetite in the summer heat. I wonder what his appetite will be like if we go in January...

I love Monster's Inc Laugh Factory. It is probably my favorite MK attraction. I could watch it all day. Glad you enjoyed it. Yum to the Casey's.

I wouldn't say Monsters Inc is my favorite attraction at MK, but I am very happy we discovered it. :)

Cute updates! I love all the PP pictures you took, especially with the ones of you looking towards the castle. Such a great idea! I will have to remember that for next year!

It is sweet that even with a very short line, Ron was willing to meet the princesses with you. I doubt Crap would have done the same to me. He gave me a hard time about how long Mickey's line was when we were on our honeymoon until I got frustrated with him and left the line. We never saw Mickey that trip. If I cannot even meet the Big Cheese, there is no way he would have been patient enough to meet the girly princesses. You got a very beautiful batch of princesses too. Sorry Cinderella was not more chatty. Belle is my favorite princess. I would love to see her at the Meet and Greet, since you are rushed through the one at Akerhaus.

You really do love your Photopass pictures don't ya Mel? Lots of kissing, lots of hugging in those pictures but that's to be expected anyway seeing as your both married. There's a seperate room to watch cartoons in Casey's Corner? Double awesome sauce!

Whoa! No queue for the Princesses? What were all the girls doing at that time, eating nachos? Cinderella not being very chatty, I think all that work has gotten to her and tired her out that's probably why she wasn't speaking much. Belle called Ron a hairy beast Hahahahaha! I bet you were like: "Yeah that's my "hairy beast" alright he's an idiot at times but he's my idiot though." Okay why is Ariel here? I thought she had her own meet and greet spot at Adventureland before Rapunzel replaced her. Not sure why she's in the Princess Room when Aurora would normally be there with Belle and Cinderella but whatever.

This is kind offtopic I know but I've bought a copy of the PS1 game for Toy Story 2 for my PS2 to keep me occupied throughout the summer just yesterday along with a PS1 memory card and Spyro the Dragon so hopefully that should tide me over for now at least.

Anyways not much to say but it was all about the princess in this one so yeah it's a slow one for me so whatever.

Cute updates! I love all the PP pictures you took, especially with the ones of you looking towards the castle. Such a great idea! I will have to remember that for next year!

I think I got that idea of having our picture taken from the back while we are looking at something (Castle, Memories sign, etc.) from another TR here. It makes for great photos, so I hope you remember it by the time of your next trip!

Yeah, Ron was pretty good at meeting characters, as long as the line was short. I think he enjoyed the meets, even though I'm sure he'd say a different things in front of other men. :rotfl2:

But whether it's characters or even attractions, we both don't like to wait longer than 20 minutes. We have no problem lining up at the turnstiles 40 minutes before park opening, if it means not having to wait that long for anything else later in the day. :rotfl:

It was our honeymoon, of course there were going to be lots of hugging and kissing pictures. :bride: Just like you can expect lots of baby and stroller pictures in our next TR. ;)

My guess for the short queue for the Princesses is that since the Meet & greet is at the very beginning of Main Street, most people go when entering or exiting, and do not make the trek to the park entrance at other times in the day. I think Aurora is a regular in there, but that Ariel (and on even rarer occasions, Snow White), replaces her from time to time, during breaks.

Is the Toy Story any good? I got the Disneyland Kinect game for Xvox, but haven't played much yet since it involves standing up for long periods of time and it's harder to do while pregnant.
