Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 week Disneymoon (PTR link 11/14)

Can you imagine the welcome sign for Mont-Tremblant? "Welcome to Mont-Tremblant - Those of you who hate skiing piss off". It's a beautiful mountain village type place I will have to admit. Good luck for you on Friday. Nah sike! I'm can't wait for the next bit of the trip!

Day 9 part 5 - A Restful Afternoon and a Photoshoot
August 19th, 2011

Did you check out my 5 Life Updates from the past few days? Look above!

This update will be big on words, and short on pictures. Sorry to have made you wait over a month for this. Day 9 was probably one of our “worse” day of the trip, though nothing terrible happened. Just not terribly exicting.

Last time I updated we were about to leave AK and go back to POP since Ron looked like he could use a rest. Here come a few of the only pictures of this update. As we were exiting the park, we came across a photopass guy.

Not only did he take some regular photos, but he also did a Magic shot. He had us hold this wooden box and told us to look surprised. It’s only when we got home that we saw that it was Stitch who paid us a visit!

It took a while for a bus to get there (our 2nd longest wait, I think), but we finally got to board around 2pm. Ron fell asleep on the bus (and he rarely ever does), so I was right about him being tired. Back at POP he watched a little TV while I updated my journal. Even though he desperately needed a nap, he wasn’t taken one. So I put on my bikini, gathered my stuff and headed for the pool, making him promise to turn off the lights and the TV after I left.

I had to get a pen from Everything POP as my other one had died (it was new before the trip! That’s how much I’d been writing). I wanted to go to the Hippie Dippy pool, but they were having some games and it was loud, so Bowling Pool it was. As you probably have forgotten by now, my mom got sick during my trip and had been in the hospital for almost a week. She had finally gotten a room with a phone, so I called her. She only had two more days before being allowed to leave the hospital. Yay! She seemed in a good mood. I didn’t actually go in the water, and instead just finished catching up on my journal writing. It started raining, but it was fairly light (for Florida) and I was under an umbrella, so I was fine. It didn’t last long anyway.

It was now 4:20pm and I had left Ron to sleep over an hour ago. Think it was enough? Let’s find out!

Nope! It took him a while to fall asleep, so he was still very tired. I left him alone again and decided to go play in the arcade. I played a few silly games, then tried “Deal or No Deal”. I chose case 4, since we got married on May 4th. I picked out a lot of small amounts at first, and in the end I was left with only my case and case 15, which I actually had almost chosen earlier in the game. The two amounts left were 40 points and 400 points (the top amount!). The banker offered me 220 points, and I took the deal. Was it a good deal? Yep! My case only had 40 points. Woohoo!! The machine was out of tickets though, so I had to go get someone to fix it. When she did I got not only my 220 tickets, but 67 extra that belonged to whoever played before me. Score! I played a few more games, including Frogger, and ended up with over 400 tickets at the end. Nothing spectacular was offered for that amount, so I got several trinkets to put in my teacher “treasure box”. My students loved them!

I went back to the room about 45 minutes after I had left. Ron had just woken up and was back to watching TV. We got ready and left for Downtown Disney. We got off at Marketplace and headed straight to Guest Relation. Remember earlier that day, a photopass person had mentioned a free photopass studio located there. It’s actually mainly for people who do the Bibidi Bobidi Boutique, but they will take you if no one else from there is waiting.

Speaking of which, a family with two little princesses straight out of BBB were finishing their shot, and then it was our turn. We did 3-4 different poses. It was short, but it was free so we can’t complain! Ron had completely forgotten about this so he had not done his hair and doesn’t like how he looked. Oh well!

Up Next, An Evening At Downtown Disney, and an Adult Meltdown

You guys got some great pictures, even if Ron doesn't like his hair :lmao:

Sounds like a nice relaxing afternoon:thumbsup2

You looked beautiful in your baby shower dress!

Kimberly is right, you are a stunning mommy to be.

Hope that you get the news that you're hoping for on Friday. I'm such a control freak planner, that I was a little happy to know when Maddie would arrive. Plus, I'd been on bed rest for 4 weeks, so I was relieved to get it over with. :rotfl:

Thank you! Speaking of stunning, I finally received my pictures from the maternity photoshoot! They are on the other computer, but I'll upload them soon. :goodvibes

Yeah, if I were stuck on bed rest, I would want her to come out sooner as well. Sometimes I'm a big planner, but for some reason for this pregnancy I've been very "go with the flow".

:rotfl2: It's an amazing mountain for skiing for sure, but fortunately, there are enough things to keep everyone occupied. :)

I posted a Disney update. Happy? :upsidedow

Mel, I completely understand where you are coming from. I feel like once you get behind here, it's impossible to get caught up. Just like at work! :lmao: Just take it little by little. Plus, I'm sure once the baby is here the DIS will be the farthest thing from your mind! :rotfl: Until then, I'm excited to here more about your trip. :goodvibes

Well, aren't I glad I didn't completely stop reading everyone's TR or I would have missed your big news! :goodvibes Now I know why you understand where I'm coming from. Don't worry, it gets easier in the middle, before it gets hard again. ;)

I'm not sure that the Dis will be so far from my mind once Peanut is here, seeing as at least half her clothes are Disney themed

It looks like you had a nice relaxing trip around Mother’s Day. I love how beautiful it looks there.

I love your professional Photopass shots from Downtown Disney. Ron’s hair looks fine. Crap always worries about his hair too, so I get his concern.

What other things can you do while your at Mont-Tremblant besides Skiing? I really like to know. This is starting to sound like a travel agency to me:
Mel: Where do you want to go sir?
Me: Mont-Tremblant.
Mel: Okay why Mont Tremblant?
Me: Because woman, I want to experience the skiiing! Skiing! SKIIIING!
Mel: Ooh excellent, should be enjoyable for you then.
Me: SKIIIING!

And as for the update, well...it's not an update that will keep me occupied for long but it'll have to do for now anyway. At least it's got a few pictures though.

Oops! Somehow I missed your post last night. Sorry! Yeah, Ron's hair looks okay (at least he had it cut just before the trip!), but he much prefers it with gel. Oh well. And they say women worry about their look... :rotfl:

Yes, it was a great relaxing time for Mother's Day. It sure is a pretty place. :goodvibes

Ahh, men and their hair... :groom:

In the winter I'm not sure. Of course year round there is always shopping, eating and drinking. Just in that little village there is a pub, a (minuscule) club, and a lounge. And drinking age is 18 here. Oh, and there is the casino as well. I *think* there might be an indoor water area (a little more than just a pool, but not exactly a water park). In the summer you can go hiking, biking, rollerblading, do that luge thing I showed a picture of, do an obstacle course in the trees, swim in one of the lake (unlike Florida, you don't have to stay out of the lakes here ;)).

Yeah, certainly not my most exciting update. Neither will be the next one. But gotta have one of those days at some point in your trip, right? We had been go-go-go for so long, we were bound to crash at some point.

Maternity Photoshoot

I got my pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: I can only show you 3 out of the 7 though, because the others are a bit too riské for a public forum. :cutie:

I love the pictures Mel. My favorite is the one of you, Ron and Claudia. Sweet little family.

Day 9 part 6 - Eating, Playing, and An Adult Meltdown
August 19th, 2011

*DISCLAIMER* The evening of our Day 9 was not a good night for Ron and I. I have decided to include everything that happened, since life is not always peachy pink*

After our photoshoot we exited through the Arribas store, which has such beautiful crystal and glass pieces. Oh if only I had the money (and the space)... We crossed Pleasure Island to get our dinner destination. I took some pictures on the way.

I had read about Wolfgang Puck Express before our trip and really wanted to try it. Ron was not very interested in the menu, but I was so we stayed.

DSC03677.jpg

We took a seat on the little outside patio. The way it works here is that you make your order, and then they give you this card with a number. You go find a table to sit at, and they deliver your food to you. As you can also notice from the photos, Ron’s energy level was not any higher than in the morning, and I was having a hard time keeping mine up in the face of constant grumpiness.

DSC03679.jpg

Ron ordered a spicy chicken melt (a hot sandwich), which came with delicious homemade chips.

DSC03681.jpg

I had a four cheese pesto pizza. I do not remember how we liked our food. It must have been okay, but not mind blowing.

DSC03680.jpg

After dinner, in an attempt to get Ron in a better mood, we did something he likes: going into DisneyQuest.

DSC03682.jpg

DSC03685.jpg

We played a few old school arcade games, a few new and/or weird ones, and fought off an Alien Invasion. The lines for the other big games, like Astro Blaster and Magic Carpets, were too long so we left.

I took a few more pictures, including some blurry shots. I’m posting them anyway.

We stopped for a couple of minutes to watch this multi-talented guy.

When we got in front of Planet Hollywood Ron was fed up with walking around so he went to the bus stop. I wanted to continue shopping (and I kinda wanted to get away from his bad attitude), so I stayed in DTD. My mood was a bit down, so I actually did not stop in many stores, but I did take a few more photos.

I got to the Marketplace bus stop about 30 minutes later, and was back at POP by 10pm. I saw this cute Wet Paint sign.

DSC03702.jpg

Ron and I went to bed shortly after I got back. The End.

NOT! That’s when my adult meltdown happened. I was very tired. So tired in fact that I couldn’t sleep, and everything annoyed me. Including Ron falling asleep next to me in 2.2 seconds. I started crying, which woke up Ron. He tried to comfort me half-heartedly, but he fell right back to sleep while holding me, which frustrated me even more. At home I could have just gone to another room, but at POP I had nowhere to go. I got up and started pacing around, feeling myself go crazy. So I decided to watch TV. It woke Ron up again, but I didn’t care. I could see him tossing and turning, incapable of falling back asleep with the noise and the light coming from the TV. He even tried going to sleep on the floor behind the little curtain divider, but obviously that did not work. I was secretly happy. Mean, I know. Eventually, after close to two hours, I finally felt sleepy enough to go to sleep. Ron must have been relieved. The real end.

Great pictures. I love your maternity shots. So cute!

And thanks for the tip on the photo studio at guest relations. We'll have to check it out!

Sorry the rest of your evening at DtD was not great.

I know exactly what you mean about being trapped in a room and unable to fall asleep next to some one who is out as soon as he hits the pillow. Most of the time, I am fine with it. Once in a while, it irritates me too. While everyone else sleeps, I am held captive audience to avoid waking them. It is not fun. Once in a while, I have been known to "accidentally" wake Crap up.:rotfl2:

Well on the bright side Mel, atleast your evening in Downtown Disney wasn't as bad as my first day at Epcot.....I really need to stop harping so much on that day. Surprisingly I've never been on Buzz Lightyear's astro blaster and the Magic Carpets at DisneyQuest. I think playing the original Donkey Kong game was a highlight for me cuz I'm a gamer myself and I like anything from the 80s so that game was in my ballpark so to speak.

I'm so sorry that you had such a hard time falling asleep. I know how frustrating it is to have a husband that's asleep in seconds. Mine snores too, so if I'm not asleep, I"m usually elbowing, hitting, nudging, kicking him in an attempt to get him to pipe down. :lmao:

lol I think I would also have been happy that he wasn't able to fall back to sleep lol

I love the honesty in your report!! Too many people paint the we are at Disney so life is always fantastic!

My hubby takes Ambien, so I have actually banged and slammed stuff to "accidentally" wake him up. I'm a meanie.:badpc: HA HA
