Was wondering if anyone has used this and found it effective?? My 13 yr old DD's acne is really starting to flare up this winter now and I was wondering if I should get it for her for Christmas?? She has it especially bad on her forehead. If it would help her I am all for getting it for her--poor thing:guilty: But, if it's not that great I don't want to shell out the money for something that will just sit on the shelf.

If you recommend what is the best price you've seen out there and where can I get it?? I do know that CVS has it for 34.99 this week but I thought I had seen it advertised for alot less than that a few weeks ago. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!!;)

I don't know about the product. But, honestly I am not sure at 13 I would be thrilled if I got this as a gift. Possibly something you can give her with noone else around. She is possibly embarrassed and hoping noone has noticed as it is.

There was an item I saw at Kmart that I actually thought about buying one of my dd's. Its a face cleaner that uses batteries and is supposed to help clear up facial issues, include oily skin.

Hi OP, I started using zeno back in 2005. At that time, I don't think they didn't have the mini one, so I bought a new one off ebay for around $50 I think.

While it did work (it almost numbed the area with heat, making it feel less painful, and more flush with the skin, instead of sticking out there like a 3-D sign!) However, if she has lots of little pimples, as opposed to one or two bigger ones, this is not the product for her. I know the mini one is different in that it takes less time, but you have to use refills, which can get spendy if she uses them on 4 or 5, twice a day. IMO, Zeno only works for people with 1-3 occasional large (once-a-month kinda thing) pimples.

I would recommend Neutrogena skin ID. They have coupon codes too if you look them up on google. This is coming from a 24 yr old who has suffered with acne since she was 11, and finally has very clear skin since I started using it over a year ago! (I sound like an infomercial) Basically you just enter in information about her skin type, and it recommends a three-step regimen and then you can order the products. My favorite thing is that with other acne systems, you get them once a month, which was too much for me. This system lets you choose how often you want to receive the products, I think I have mine at 90 days, so I pay 3 times a year, instead of 12!

Also, I wouldn't get it as a gift for her unless she has asked for it. In high school I used Murad, and that was pretty expensive, so I'd always put it on my Christmas/Birthday list! But I might have been offended if my mom just bought it for me out of the blue at 13. Just my opinion! :flower3:

Hope this helps - and feel free to ask me any specific questions. I consider myself unfortunately knowledgeable in this field!

I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but my DH has suffered horrible acne his entire life, cystic acne actually. Even in his 30's he still has flare-ups. But what I have noticed is when I cook with olive oil he is completely clear. But if I don't use it he has a flare up. I have been cooking for him for about 7 years and the patteren constantly repeats itself. I am not saying this is a solution but it is worth a shot.

I wouldn't have posted this if it would be something she would be less than thrilled in getting. Right now she is looking at every way to clear up her face so there is no embarassment involved and why would there be when she is getting a gift she wants from her father and I. We don't make it an embarassing issue in our household we talk about it openly and she has no problems discussing it with either one of us. She's not embarassed around others because she covers it with makeup. I'm just trying to find something for her that will prevent it in the first place so she doesn't have to deal with bad skin at her age and was wanting to know if this is an effective product or just a waste of money.

Thats great that your family can talk about it so openly. And I completely understand the whole, "every way to clear up her face." Could I ask what you've tried in the past? Also, maybe a change in makeup could work as well? Just trying to help! :)

My DD tried everything and even 3 Rxs from the Dr. After a year her face cleared up with only a break out now and then, I can't say anything really helped. ProActive has a $ back guarantee you could try that. If it doesn't help it may be cheaper to just visit a Dermatologist. I heard the Zeno was for like Cystic acne, but may be wrong.

I tried the zeno when it first came out. It did nothing for me and was a huge waste. I would suggest taking her to a dermatologist (something I wish my parents had done for me). I didn't go until I was well into my 20's.
