Middle DS wears glasses all the time. DH took him on a mini-vacation this week to visit his grandma and they went to Rehoboth beach today. Well he wore his glasses into the ocean (why I don't know) but his glasses were in the immortal text I got from DH "...swept out to sea". This was his only pair of glasses. I really hadn't budgeted to get him new glasses right now or I'd have DH run him over to to Lens Crafters so he could have them tomorrow. Since we're going super cheap I thought I'd get him a pair from Coastal as I know they ship quickly so he'd have them by the end of next week but their website is not working for me today. They have a pair that's very similar to the ones he was wearing on Zenni Optical for only $25 with shipping. Their shipping states 7-14 business days (which is in the realm of two to three weeks with the holiday coming up - is this correct or do they generally ship sooner? I'll order these if he'll actually have them sooner but I don't want him to be without glasses for too long if it will be as stated then I'll keep trying to get Coastal's site to work.

Thanks

Mine took 12 business days to arrive. I hope that helps.. and the lenses are better than the $300 pair of glasses they replaced.. I think I paid $54 all said and done for my pair.. worth every penny..

Sorry to hear they are now in the fins of some fish.. but just think.. they can see the sharks sooner now..

I've purchased my last 5 pair of glasses from Zenni. Takes about 2 weeks to get them. I've always been able to find something I like for around $50, and I have progressive lenses.

They can take weeks to ship and they are shipped direct from China just like the other poster said.

I've ordered from Zenni several times. It usually takes about 1.5 weeks for me to get the shipment. I've always been happy with them.

Dh ordered prescription sunglasses from them, the arrived within two weeks and he's really pleased with them.

Zenni is offering free sunglasses tint today thru July 7 . Normally it costs $5. I ordered 6 pairs today. I've been ordering from them for at least 5 years. I have never waited more than two weeks for delivery.

You are definitely lucky, because I have read customs ties up orders fairly frequently. What was worse is that I would call and get no answer most times; when I did they had no idea when I would get the glasses.

I would use Zenni again for glasses if I didn't need them in a timely manner, like for an extra pair or something.

I used their "online chat" quite a few times for general questions. They also have a Facebook page and I see zenni employees writing on there responding to customers inquiries.

I'm wearing Zenni glasses right now :)

I have ordered many times and it takes about a week and a half for us. We did have one very large order take 2.5 weeks, but it had over a dozen pairs on the order.

How do you all pick out glasses online? What if you have astigmatism?

I have my prescription from Lenscrafters and I would love just a cheap extra pair. Is it easy to do this? I have always wanted to try, but it seems so intimidating to try and buy glasses online.:confused3

Yeah, I would like to know exactly how this works as well. Both my DD's wear glasses and neither one ever makes it through a single year without having to get another pair.

Having a spare, or the ability to get a cheap spare would be great.

My mom ordered two pair and got them in about 2 weeks from the day she ordered, but it was also a weekend. She said both pairs are great and fit her perfectly - prescription was right too. I'll probably get my next ones from them too. The price is great!

I have about 5 or 6 different pairs from Zenni, and a friend swears by their progressive lenses.

I've always only had to wait about a week and a half as well.

LOVE them. Did you know that no matter how many pairs you order, shipping is still 5$? Want to order 6 pairs? Shipping is still 5$. Total. Not each! Woo!

After reading all the positive comments from everyone I'm excited to order my new pair of glasses in the next few weeks from Zenni!

My husband brought up a good point though, "what if they don't fit right when you get them or you need them adjusted later?" We decided that I could go to our eye Dr. & whatever they charged we would still be ahead. Is that the experience y'all have had?

Has anyone had any experience with having to return them because they weren't the correct prescription?

I would love to know the answer to this as well. How does everyone get the Pupil Distance? I would love to try this but it seems so difficult to make sure you get the right prescription in the glasses.

Your eye doctor has the PD, but you may have to ask him for it. I think they purposely leave it off some prescriptions to keep people from ordering elsewhere.

As far as getting glasses adjusted, my Walmart optician tightened my son's at no charge one time and I didn't buy them there.

we have gone to the eye dr. or to any eye place and we mention that DD's glasses are crooked (we're convinced she has a crooked head) or that the screw is loose they have offered to fix it. They have never asked where they were purchased.

We got perscription sunglasses from zenni for $12. Seemed worth the risk to me. Eye Dr. checked them out and they were fine. We took the measurements from her regular glasses and got identical ones.

For the PD I couldn't get the eye dr. office to tell us. I looked over their shoulder when they wrote it down. Someone said there is a website that will do it for you with a online camera but I haven't looked into it.
