Any idea how long it will last? I have my eye appointment in about 2 weeks, but DH just had his and already ordered and received his glasses... Any way around this so I can lock in the deal? Can I submit the order and tell the eye doctor not to approve until after my eye appointment...? Sounds awful, but this is a steal of a deal and we already use Zenni Optical as it is. Didn't see a set end date, maybe you can move up your appointment. They don't really contact your doctor to approve the orders though, you just punch in the number from your prescription online.

Okay, for those of you that have ordered from Zenni, I have a question. I ordered once before. My prescription is pretty strong. When the glasses came, I felt like I was looking through a magnifying glass, so I ended up putting them away and not even wearing them. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have a pretty strong prescription too. Mine is -5.75. I usually get the high index lenses but I didn't pay extra for that with the order I placed with Zenni last week. I chose the 1.57 at no extra charge. I'm not sure how much of a difference it is between that and 1.50 (also no extra cost) but figured ever little bit would help me. I just ordered sunglasses so I'm hoping that they work OK. My DD has even a stronger prescription than I do and she's ordered the regular lenses from Zenni and hasn't had any problem. But, she doesn't wear them often since she's usually in her contacts.

I'll let you know what I think when mine get here.

I did send them an email asking if they will adjust the price but haven't had any reply yet.

I'm approaching my 40th birthday and I think it's time I broke down and got some glasses. How does this online thing work? Can I just walk into a lenscrafters or something for the eye exam and not buy the glasses there? Will they give me the prescription to take somewhere else? I always thought you had to buy them where you got the exam.

How do you know if the glasses will look right on you without trying them on?

My husband and I actually go to our local Target 'eye specialist' (inside the store, at the front) to get our glasses only exam- it's regularly $65/person, but since I am a AAA member, they offer me a $5 discount to make it only $60/person. At the end of the exam, they print out your prescription for you, and you just have to key that into the zenni website and badabing, badaboom- you're set. There's never any obligation- we used to go to Wal-Mart for the exam only but found that Target is actually comparable in price but faster and more efficient (not to mention less crowded than Wal-Mart's eye center). Good Luck and never feel obligated to buy from them just because you got your exam there- we all know people are looking for the best price and that's just the way it is these days. No feelings should be hurt, I promise!

It will say processing until they ship, as far as I've ever noticed on our orders. I'd say they typically ship within 10-15 business days, but I've also seen them go faster. I've never seen them go longer than 15 days, if even that. Surely there's an 800# to try and contact customer service to just 'check in'? Sorry!
