So tonight I fell down a YouTube wormhole of a dialect coach (Erik Singer) breaking down movie accents and he's both amazingly engaging and clearly INCREDIBLY intelligent and now I'd like to listen to him talk all the time!

What YouTube wormholes have you fallen down that were really interesting?

Just the other night it was videos of “nail artists” sculpting fingernails out of cornstarch mixed with clear nail polish. Personally I loathe fake nails and think they look hideous. But this was so morbidly fascinating I couldn’t stop watching. :scared:

Dollar tree hauls and Michaels $4 boxes. I hadn’t been in a dollar tree for years and don’t even know where a Michaels is since ours went out of business years ago but I get hooked and can spend hours watching them. Dh and I will watch them open Amazon pallets instead of tv in the evening.

Am I missing something? That went so far over my head it's like I don't even know what any of the words you're saying mean.

Just recently got hooked into watching a YouTube channel of a guy playing slot machines with a group of people. Killed a whole lunch hour watching these.

All kinds...scrapbooking, skin care & make up, decorating, minimalism, celebrity stuff, and so on.

Yes, I'm looking for a new silicone-free foundation makeup. I started looking at some videos to see how well they cover, then got hooked into seeing how the women apply all sorts of makeup. I, of course, now want EVERY brush they use, whether I use that makeup or not. :lmao:I bought one of those beauty blender sponges and didn't know it needs to be soaked in water and squeezed a lot first to soften it. I nearly gave myself bruises with even tapping lightly with the hard blender. :headache:

I also watched a bunch of videos on celeb tidbits, that I never needed to know about. :lmao:And I'll watch any vid on any craft, whether I'll actually do that craft or not.

Now, I'm watching How to play piano with easy left hand techniques, vids. If only I had enough time & energy in this lifetime to master it all.

Cleaning videos. Not cleaning tips, which would have a purpose, but just speeded up videos of women cleaning and decluttering their houses. I have no idea why, but I love them. :sad2:

I go to watch videos about the photo editing software I'm trying to learn, and wind up watching Kitten Lady, people buying storage units and pallets, evictions (we have a rental house), and SNL videos. There goes an hour.

I may or may not have made some make up brush impulse purchases even though I barely wear make up. I would totally do the same thing with a beauty blender. LOL

movie "Easter Eggs"

and those videos where kids try weird (to them) foods - like candy popular a long time ago or in a foreign country

I started out looking for Benedict Cumberbatch vids once and somehow ended up looking at Victorian postmortem photos. Apparently it was a thing to photograph your dead loved ones as if they were still alive. You learn something new every day. I creeped the heck out of myself, too.

Is that the adult version of my kid watching people open blind bag toys on youtube? :)
