"You're Going to Disneyland? That's in Florida Right?" UPDATED 11/13 Final Chapter :D

Hi, Mark!

I am enjoying following along on your trip report. It's fun to have things 'real time'!

I noticed that your "curse word" mushrooms sentence was 'edited'. Funny. :lmao:

Oh, and you used the mushroom/snap pea photo instead of one of the dessert photos.

Carry on, my friend. popcorn::

Just found your trip report and am following along! Can't wait for your Disney updates!

Hi Mark!! I follow all of Jess's (and the other frumps) trip reports and loved reading about your DCP adventures with Jess. I am looking forward to reading your DL trip report. My family and I had a vacation planned for the beginning of August. We were to stay at the HOJO's in Aneheim, But my dog was just diagnosed with lymphoma so we cancelled it to take care of him.....he is doing really good with his treatments so far!. SOOOO I will live vicariously through you...lol. Hope you have tons of fun. Can't wait to hear more....

Fried cream cheese!? Yes1 Yum! Looks like a pretty great dinner, I love it when places serve like that and you just get to try a little bit of everything!!

Heck yes!! All the selfies!!!

MEERKATS!Favorites! Seriously if their was a way to build an African savannah in my backyard so that little meerkats could burrow and live I would never leave my house lol! We are a Meerkat Manor rerun watching family. It is just like a soap! And hugging a koala is on my bucket list...so cute! Great update Mark! It looks like you guys are having a blast!

Thank you everyone for reading! I will hopefully be posting tonight!

Hi, Mark!

Oh, and you used the mushroom/snap pea photo instead of one of the dessert photos.

Carry on, my friend. popcorn::

Thanks for the heads up! I was tired when i posted that haha!

The zoo looks amazing. We never made it there. You must have eaten in China Town. We ate there and some of the most amazing dim sum ever!

Chapter 8: “And at last I see the light” Nope it’s pretty dark!

So the theme of this trip has been waking up before the sun does so why not continue the tradition!

3:45 a.m. (PST) is the time we woke up this time! Our flight was at 6:45 and we were scheduled to get in at 8:10!

When we got to the airport there was only one food stand open… good thing was that they had really good-looking Cinnamon rolls!

And they were so! Good. I like Cinnamon rolls because they usually fill me up! And I love baked goods!

We boarded and made our way to Anaheim!

When we arrived guess whose flight was 25 minutes early! YAY!!!

We wait for the Disneyland express!
In Disneyland their bus goes to most of the hotels in the area! I am staying off property so it was good that we could take this bus.

On the way to the hotel we passed the line for the D23 expo… it was about 12 blocks long! Glad I wasn’t going there.
This girl had a really good Jasmine costume! Don’t you think??

We stayed at the Red Lion! It is more of a traditional hotel compared to the Triton!

Our room wasn’t ready yet, so we had them hold our bags and we asked what the easiest way to get to Disney was.
The man at the front desk said it was too far to walk so we would have to pay $5 to get the shuttle. So we bought our tickets and we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. 40 minutes later the bus showed up.
The reason this took so long is because Disney does not host the bus line! It is there by a 3rd party company!

When we got on the bus, it drove down the street a little bit and we made left! Then we were there… My mom and I decided to try walking home after DCA today because it didn’t seem that far.
At that point it didn’t matter because we were finally there!!!!
For those of you who have never been to the Disneyland resort, it is really different from WDW in the fact that everything is in the same place!
You walk through the bag check and you go left to Disney’s California Adventure, Right for Disneyland and straight for Downtown Disney!

Today it was time for DCA!
After we figured out my ticket situation (I had a WDW pass that I had to trade in for a Disneyland one)

We were really hungry when we got in to the park so the first place we went was Carsland to eat at “Flo’s V8” (one of my friends suggested it)

I had the roasted turkey with baked beans and coleslaw on the side!

It was soooo yummy!

My mom had the Citrus turkey salad

Isn’t that a huge salad?? She couldn’t finish it! I tried some it was really good!
From there we decided because we were in the area we wanted to go ride “Radiator Springs Racers”
The standby line was at 120 minutes… and the fast passes were all gone… so we used one of my favorite inventions… the Single Rider Line…
The cast member at the beginning of the line said that it would take like 30 minutes!
We didn’t have a problem riding separate so it was fine!
The queue was really cool!

When we got to the loading platform they ended up putting us together! It was great!

The ride was really fun! And is definitely something everyone should do!
After that we decided to head to Hollywood Land because I read online that’s a good place to find characters!

Chapter 9: Gotta get them selfies

Who ever posted that was right! We saw Mr. and Mrs. Incredible but their line was closed so we headed over to the line for Disneys newest Princess!

SOFIA!!

And here it is... the first selfie of the trip!

She was really nice! I had never met Sofia before that because she is, as you probably know, a new character!

After that I saw the Incredibles were on their way off stage but I used that opportunity to get a selfie with the Mrs because I have never met her!

We also walked past the theater where Disney Jr. Live on Stage happens! I didnt go see it but I would have loved to!

We then entered an area that was the place where Mad T party happens every night!
That is basically a series of small concerts and it has an Alice and Wonderland theme

It was then off to ride one of my favorite rides at WDW and see if I like the DL version too!

Following along on your first trip report. We were going to go to Disneyland for the first time this year, but DVC gave us an amazing deal on WDW premium APs that we could not pass up! Your TR will be insight for our future trip!

Following along, and also going on our first Disneyland trip in just 38 days! Ahh! My DD is so excited to meet Sofia, and my DS can't wait to ride RSR! We're just loving your trip report so far!

Chapter 10: "Now you get to score points"

So after Hollywood Land we decided to head to Paradise Pier! That is where my favorite ride is! TOY STORY MIDWAY MANIA! I love it at DHS so I assumed I would love it here!

On the way we ran into some familiar faces!

First we saw the Phineas and Ferb dance party in the street

Next we saw…

Donald Duck!
He signed my book! (I am going to post pictures of all the autographs I got later)

And don’t worry I got a selfie!

After Donald we saw one of my favorite characters!

DUFFY THE DISNEY BEAR! I love him! I have one! He wears the peter pan outfit!
Duffy also signed my book!

and I got a selfie!

After that we went to TSMM!
So as many of you know at DHS the wait for this ride is usually like 100 minutes and fast passes are gone by 9:15 am!
At DCA, they don’t have fast passes! And they took out the single rider line!
The good thing is that this was the standby wait time…

30 minutes!?!? I cannot believe it! Disneyland gets everything!

I took some pictures in the Queue!

We waited for about 30 minutes like it said! These were the our scores! (My mom was player 1 and I was player 2)

Then on the way out the Disney magic returned us to our normal size!

See that’s the game toy sized!!

From there we decided to go on the Ferris Wheel! We will see how that goes seeing as I am terrified of them!

Chapter 11: Mickeys Fun Wheel... of death!

As I stated before, the Ferris Wheel is where we are going next!
I am terrified of Ferris Wheels!
It isnt really the height, its the fact that it tilts, and as you can see in the picture I posted earlier, the cars move! Like around a track!
They had two options, the tilting kind and the non-tilting kind.
My mom suggested we do the tilting kind because Why do it if you arent going to get the full experience?
I was not as nervous because on these ones they have fencing around the openings!
Once we got on the ride, it wasnt so bad and I got some good pictures.

That is Ariel's Grotto Restaurant!

California Screamin'

The Matterhorn and Space Mountain in the distance!

Tower of Terror!!

In the end I survived and it wasnt that bad!
I couldnt cry though because there was another group in the same car with us!
That would have been awkward for everyone involved!

Loving your trip report! We were there last October and this is bringing back good memories. You're doing a great job!

Chapter 12: Lets go fly a kite!

So after I was safely on the ground my mom and I continued through paradise pier!
We walked past the tower of terror!

And arrived in "A Bugs Land"!

For some odd reason I didnt take any pictures in this section!
The only thing I remember about that time was that we stopped for a snack!
Its been a while but they still taste the same&

YUM!! It was really frozen though we couldnt even really bite them!
Then the unthinkable happens& the front part of the chocolate falls off and hits the ground! That makes me so sad!
But thats life!
Anyways, we decided to walk through condor flats!
One thing I loved about Disneyland was the fact that they have all these little street shows!
In Condor Flats right across from Soarin they have the show Minnies Fly Girls

It was a super cute show!
It featured two stewardesses and Lee (The girls commented about how they dont actually know what he does at the airfield)
They all sang flying themed songs such as Lets Go Fly a Kite from Mary Poppins!
Here are some more pictures!

OH and the star of the show, who shows up fashionably late, was Minnie Mouse herself!

It was a super sweet show! I would love to perform in a Disneyland Show!

Chapter 13: Welcome to Monstropolis!

When we finished watching the show we headed back to Hollywood Land to see if there were any new friends out!
Spoiler alert! There were!

My good friend Goofy’s son Max was hanging out meeting people!
I have never met Max before; he has school a lot so when I used to be with Goofy he wasn’t around!

and I know you are looking for the Selfie!

Well he was the only one we saw, so we decided to go and ride the Monsters Inc. ride because we came by earlier but it was closed! This time it was open!
Here are some queue pictures!

The ride was pretty cool!
It was pretty much the traditional dark ride!
I saw this too!

I mean the one at DHS is cooler! This one isn’t even wearing Mickey Ears!
While inspecting this I immediately heard music in the near distance (like that oxymoron)… What could that be?
#cliffhanger

You're doing a great job on this trip report so far, Mark! And I can't believe you were there during the D23 Expo. I am so jealous. I wanted to be at that expo SOOOO BAD and yeah, would've totally waited in the crazy long lines.

Anyways, loving the character selfies again! I saw a few on Instagram and thought it was so cool how you met Max. Always a surprise when he's out.

The Minnie's Fly Girl show looks adorable, when I finally get to take a trip to DLR myself, I'll have to check it out. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
