For those who have done both the breakfast and dinner, which is your preference?

Which buffet is better for the picky eater? My brother and I are foodies and like to try new things, but our sister sticks with basic American food that she knows.

We prefer breakfast. We had dinner there last week, and it was decent. The service was awesome..but the food was nothing special. There were many dishes I didn't care for at all like the pulled pork and pasta primavera..just didn't taste right. It wasn't horrible, but we'll only be going there for breakfast from now on.

Love the breakfast at Crystal Palace. They have a great variety of food, including all the breakfast basics and a few unique things. The puffed french toast is so yummy.

I haven't eaten dinner then, so I can't speak for that.

I usually do not like dinner buffets, but really enjoy the one at CP. Good mussells - I like the pulled pork! I think the cheese selection is excellent for a buffet. Their mac and cheese is great. I was really surprised by the great salads. So - I like the dinners and make it a point to go early before a party like MNSSHP.

this trip I am trying the breakfast. Hope it lives up to the dinners!!!

Definitely breakfast for the picky eater. Dinner is good but flavors are not traditional in some dishes.

We love both meals but if I had to choose I would pick the 8:05 am breakfast

We've done breakfast twice. The first time the service was abysmal and the food was barely recognizable, not to mention tasted horrible. OK, it was one of the last seatings. So next time we went we took an early seating. Food was better, nothing special--typical Disney breakfast buffet and the service was almost as bad as the first time. I say do LTT for dinner, nice character meal in MK. Or have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare; good buffet, pooh characters, and still close to MK.

We always do CP for breakfast on every trip. Love it. Except this Feb. we did lunch. It was delish. Service was just ok. Bfast is on our ADR list for Sept. Puffed french toast...yummy

We've done both and would probably pick breakfast. We had good food and service all the times we've been (and breakfast and dinner). CP is one of our favorites but we are skipping it this year as we've done it four years in a row.

I've done CP for breakfast and dinner.

I prefer breakfast. It is alot of fun and the food is generally very good. In fact, it was very good when I ate ther ein March. Dinner was v good too from what I remember but it was about 5 years ago so...you know how things can change.

Breakfast is usual fare: pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits, toast, hashbrowns, fruit, etc. My DH really loves something there called Pooh's Lasagna. It is pretty good. Dinner was prime rib, ham, seafood, salads, veggies. I do remember that I thought the desserts were very yummy.

The breakfast food at CP really is outstanding - it offers a great variety of everything. However, I was unprepared for how chaotic the restaurant was, from checkin to the characters. We had an 8:05 am ADR and it was a madhouse (and we went in early December). There also didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the rounds of Pooh and friends. We got skipped by Piglet and Tigger (although Piglet did make it back around to us eventually). I guess what I'm trying to say is that keep it in the back of your head that the character interaction *may* not live up to your expectations. However, the food will not disappoint.

Another vote for breakfast. Especially for a picky eater, breakfast foods are so basic everyone should be happy. Plus the food at character buffets can range from mediocre to terrible to sometimes great (but rarely) so we opt for breadfast because it is more predictable. By the way, we have experienced really nice character interaction here.

The 8:05 breakfast seating has been a tradition in my family for 25 years. At least once each trip. For me, it's not an option, lol. That said, I find the food quite tasty.

Another vote for breakfast-it is exceptional!

They offer some yummy specialty items, like the breakfast pizza, character stamped waffles, & Pooh's lasagna. My favorites were the honey flavored yogurt with granola & the vegetable fritatta :lovestruc

They have pretty much everything from chocolate croissants to alot of egg dishes & pancake stuff to breakfast meats to basic bagels & cereal.

Our server was so pleasant & the character interaction was great. The atmosphere of this place is just lovely. There is also something very special about getting an ADR before the park opens.

We enjoyed CP for early breakfast - it was great to get in to MK early and take pics on Main St. before our ADR; and then after breakfast get a head start toward the popular rides while the rest of the park visitors were back checking in at the turnstiles! Oh yes, the food was yummy too :thumbsup2

We ate at CP many years ago, & didn't like it. (To be fair, we're not fans of buffets in general.) Nevertheless, the food porn of the lasagna & french toast has convinced me to give it another try. They both look delicious! We have an 8:05 ADR, so I'm hoping it won't be too picked over. Now my only concern is how I'm going to be able to eat all the goodies I want. Any ideas for carrying out enough chocolate croissants to cover breakfast for our remaining days? :p

I agree about breakfast! LOVE the puffed french toast!!! Dinner is okay, but if you are picky, probably not the best.
