...this is when you guys laugh at my for being a HUUUUGE geek.

anyways....the point of this thread will be AFTER my wicked story....read on.

Today my dad & I went to the Ontario Science Centre to see...
MY FAVOURITE THING IN THE WORLD!!

you guys should know me well enough by now...can you guess what that may be??

guesssssssssingggg

that's right...A TITANIC EXHIBIT!!!!
oooh boy! it was THE most exciting thing in the WWOOORRLDD for me.
THey had over 250 REAL artifacts from thw wreck. They had rooms & hallways (both 1st & 3rd class) re-created! They had tons of stories and facts and it was just amazing.
I was in (nerd) Heaven!!

Once you got your ticket they gave you a 'boarding pass'
n1643550032_33164_6094.jpg

my boarding pass.

and it gives you the name of a real person from the ship and some info about them
n1643550032_33167_2960.jpg

my info
(sorry its backwards...that's what i get for taking it on a webcam)
my name was Clara Heinsheimer.

and my dad was BENJAMIN GUGGENHEIM!!!
n1643550032_33165_2059.jpg

yeah...i realize that I am a huge dork for being excited about that...and for actuall knowing who that is, but he was one of the most famous people on board.
(for those of you who've seen the film, he's the one who says "we're dressed in our best and ready to go down as gentlemen" )
I was excited. But unfortunately for my dad, he didn't make it.

Anyways you go through the whole exhibit and @ the end there is a memorial wall that says all the people who died & survived, and you find out if your person made it or not.
Clara lived! hooray!

Anyways...I know I'm a huge nerdgeekdorkface. But I am just SO excited and I had to share it with you guys.
You weren't allowed to take pics though, which was a total bummer.
But I DID get this AMAZINg souveneir
n1643550032_33166_2530.jpg

that's right, and authentic replica cup & saucer from the white star line. :thumbsup2

okay so....point of this thread...
we are all nerds. even if we don't like to admit it, we all have a tiny bit of geek inside of us.
what would put you in nerd heaven, as this awesome exhibit did to me!!
:cool2:

Oh.My.God.

I love the historic Titanic.
I saw an exibit once..but It wasnt as cool
All they had was water the same temp. as the water the titanic feel in, and I put my hand in for 3 minutes..and my hand was blue when I took it out..it was creepy cold.

OH.MY.GOSH.
I NEED TO GO THERE.

Oooh! I've wanted to go to one of those!
Someone told me about how you go through and see if you lived or not at the one they went to.

Touring the Halliwell house would get me super excited.
The house off the show Charmed. I'm in love with that house. It's very pretty on the show and I'd love to walk through it.

Nerd Heaven for me....

THE BOSTON MUSEUM OF SCIENCE!!! I could spend days in there. I've been to several exhibits on Ancient Egypt there (including an IMAX movie- if you've never seen one you need to go before you die!).

The Last two times I went down to Beantown it was with school groups and I always get pressured into skipping some of the things I like based on my chaperone or the group I'm in. For example: I love, love, love the natural (green wing) exhibits about wild life and ecology, but I think we spent all of 5 minutes in there last trip. I also like to just take time to see all of the hands-on exhibits, but everyone else I know just rushes through them.

The most recent Egypt exhibit I went to see was soooo amazing. They re-created a genuine burial chamber (with all the authentic heiroglyphs on the walls and everything) and I just stood in the middle and spun in a slow circle, but then my group came looking for me from three rooms down and I missed the next two rooms trying to catch up.

I swear, once I get my license, I'm going to that museum for the day.

That sounds AWESOME.

But my personal nerd heaven is just walking on streets in Europe.
Not just because it's all "HOLY CRAP THIS IS EUROPE!"
But because everything there is so old.

Like, to be able to look up at a building and think, they made that during the Renaissance.
It blows my mind.

I have no idea...

DYK that someone wrote a short story that was exactly the same as the Titantic but it was written about 12 years before the disaster happened?

This is really weird and will sound really weird too... but I like school shootings. I just love learning about them. I don't know how to explain it.

Don't think i'm a freak!!

Ohmygosh, that looks so freakin awesome!! I'm a HUGE history freak, and I love the story of the Titanic.

My Nerd Heaven...

Broadway. Broadway Broadway Broadway. :lovestruc :lovestruc :worship:

Or a HUUUUUUUGE library. :woohoo:

With a dance studio.:dance3:

And a guitar studio. :rockband:

And Disney Pin Trading. :yay:

Did I mention Broadway? :lmao:

And MUSEUMS!! GAHHH I love going to museums!! :rotfl:

I also loved going to Washington, D.C. (so beautiful and AMAZING!!)

Yeahhh I'm a shortgeekynerdydorky honor's student (and proud!) :upsidedow

DramaQueen, when are you going to WDW? It's about 5 months, 1 week, and 5 days for us. August 15-21. Will we see you there?!

Watching star wars XD
Oh hiss boo, why didnt you invite me XD

Hah.
I guess being a NVA I really dont take going to DC as some big thrill anymore...

We have one here in Vegas at the Tropicana
You get those little cards and at the end of the exhibit they have a list of the survivors and a list of the deaths. You can check your card to see if you survived or not.
I did! I know it was a girl I just don't remember her name.

thats not very geeky

but cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE the Science Center!
It's my favourite place to go.. IN THE WHOLE WORLD!
Every time I go to Toronto, I go there.
I didn't see the Titanic exhibit though, because I haven't been there while it's been there.

I have many nerd heavens xD

Bookstore = heaven.

Orchestra camp = heaven.

I actually mean it when I say "this one time at band camp..."

I like museums quite a bit.
I'm pretty much a government nerd, too. I LOVE Washington D.C. and I can't wait to go back this year :D
