Your most disapointing TS restaraunt at WDW was?

I normally do not like to post negative comments because good/bad can happen anywhere. However, I think this thread is good because it can help set realistic expectations.

Thankfully, I've only had 2 dining experiences I would rate as bad at Disney.

Tony's Town Square - very noisy and crowded. Server messed up our order and it took forever to track him down to get it corrected. We ended up saying just forgot the salad, please take it off. The food itself was blah. Not only did they not take the salad off, they charged us 2X. I showed him the slips and explained I thought he double charged so he brought us a third showing "credit". When I got back to the resort, I checked and it was actually charged 3 times!

Crystal Palace - I was so excited to take DD for a character meal. We came at a bad time, the characters were switching out and rotating staff. After waiting 1 hr over our ADR time, we waiting another 1 1/2 hrs for ANY character to come by. Finally I asked the waiter if we could please get one pic. The waiter had been cleaning our table and kept asking if we were finished. I kept explaining we had not seen ANY characters yet. He rolled his eyes and then finally pulled DD aside and let her meet Pooh. No picture. As we were leaving though he got Tigger and she had a quick photo. The food was really typical buffet and nothing exciting at all. I did not go for the food so I wasn't really expecting anything there anyway.

The number of positive, memorable, amazing dining experiences far outweigh the bad!

Chef Mickey-I think it's really over rated.
San Angel Inn food was not great at all.
Sci fi..the first we really like it...the second time...no more.

Mama Melrose's - did this once...no more.

I think there are a lot of factors that contribute to a good or bad dining experience. There has to be, how on earth can one person say one restaurant is awful, when another raves about it? I wouldn't use this thread to make or break any reservations, it's all subjective input. I've been to many of the restaurants reviewed here and I will say if I've had a bad experience it's been an issue with the staff. I don't expect much in the food at character meals. They have to feed so many people, how good can it really be. It's more about the atmosphere, the characters and photo ops. That being said, Chef Mickey's, I've noticed has gotten less enjoyable. Probably due to the DDP and tons of reservations to accommodate. Or maybe I've just been there, done that. Another "factor" to consider when absorbing these reviews. Sometimes the experiences get old. It's my feeling that they could feed me Kraft macaroni and cheese every meal so long as they feed me at WDW! :)

I would have to say Chef Mickey's was our most disappointing meal. The food was really average, and we didn't have a lot of character interaction.

But I would agree that it pretty much doesn't matter what I'm eating, if I'm eating it in Disney World! :goodvibes

Coral Reef was a big let down, server was okay but we were made to feel we were not in kansas anymore..:confused3

Whispering Canyon for us. The food was good but!! We had been drinking cokes all day and ask for water when ordering our food. We just said water please. When they brought out our water it was not in glasses like we thought it would be. It was in a $9.00 bottle!! Before we had a chance to say anything , he opended it. Needless to say, we will be more careful the next time around if there is any..smjj

Boatwright's for dinner at the Port Orleans Riverside. It was absolutely the worse prime rib (or what was supposed to be prime rib) we have ever had; my DH hated the potatos; the appetizers were so small and not very tasty; the service was lousy and the noise was unbearable...you couldn't hear yourself think let alone hear the other person if he talked to you.

Prime Time Cafe -food was cold and yucky. Service was terrible. Never again.

I'd have to agree. I'm not much for this type of food on vacation anyway, but combined with a horrible waitress, it was nothing but a let down.

I'm also no fan of the Coral Reef (though I love the restaurant).

I have read the previous 8 pages of this post, and I don't think anyone has mentioned Maya Grill at CSR. Maybe I'm the only one dumb enough to try it!! We were staying at CSR, and I thought "why not?"
Our meal took nearly 3 hours, our appetizers never arrived, and we had an imaginary waiter. We joked that maybe he was the cook as well, and had wandered off to the Land to harvest some veggies for our meal. The food was OK, but not the best. I have enjoyed every other TS meal at WDW, including...gasp...LTT and Concourse! :tilt:

my hub says sci-fi. I'll go for the yachtsman though......mainly because of the waitress. I did like the food though. I didn't love it.

Without a doubt, it was Chefs de France. Seated an hour after our ADR by a rude staff, the service was painfully slow. Drinks were never refilled. And the food, which I remembered with such fond memories from earlier trips was overcooked and tasteless (except for the onion tarte, which was great). Even the dessert, an apple crepe, was left mostly intact on my plate. How does "France" screw up a a crepe? Never again. Too bad, because I love the atmosphere there.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Downtown Disney. Incredibly rude waiter, tables too close together, deafening noise, and a meal so bad I ate two bites then shared my DD's sushi! Never again!
In fact, later that trip we had ADR's for a different DD restaurant, and my DH refused to go!

Sci Fi. I know it doesn't get the greatest reviews, but we thought it would at least be decent. Our food was awful and the server was pretty bad. It was too bad, because DS liked the atmosphere; we won't go back.

Boma's. Hands down. From the way the CM who booked the ADR was talking, I was pretty much expecting an explosion of culinary bliss in my mouth. What I got were American foods with African spices. Blech! (Not to mention the services was atrocious!)

I'd have said Mama Melrose's, but I was expecting it to be a let down. I'd had it during a band trip in HS and was icked out by it then. DH wanted to try it anyway, as part of the Fantasmic dinner package. Sure enough, it was lousy.

That would of made me mad, I try to drink water out at restaurants because I drink to much diet coke at home. If they tried to charge me 9.00 for water I think I would of had to complain. Some people are not cheap who order water, they just want to drink healthy.
