Your most disapointing TS restaraunt at WDW was?

Which place(s) didn't live up to the expectations you had before eating there. Was it the food, the atmosphere, or both? Mine was Whispering Canyon. I had heard from friends really good things about the food and different antics the servers did, and was really looking forward to eating there.. Boy was I wrong.! Now it was just DW and I, and as the norm for a table of 2 we get put at if not the worst, close to it the worst place possible. In the entire hour we were there only 1 time did I see any true antics from a server and of cource it was the kid asking for ketchup and ending up with 10 of them. I say true antics becuase I wonder if our server was doing some antics to my wife and I. This server needed a firecracker under her rear to do anything. getting re-fills on drinks and a 2nd skillet was like she was doing us a big favor. The kicker was no Corn Bread. When I asked for them when not in skillet the look was like "what's this guys problem!".When the 2nd skillet came out and no Corn bread and had to ask again server "conviently" wasn't around for 10 minutes and "finally" brought it along with the check when we were finished. While the ribs were tasty the corn on the cob was basically cold. Can't tell you how disapointed (and angry) I was having wasted the time and moneyl on that place.

Ours was actually Chef Mickey's....and we had been there MANY times before.

We went there during our October trip and it just wasn't as good as I remembered it. The food was alright, but nothing was really outstanding to me. Could be because our ressie was at 9pm, though.

When we booked our Dec. trip, we decided not to go there. Maybe next time we'll give it another try!

I hated the atmosphere (think basement with people sitting way to close together). I thought the bread was nice and the cheese soup was good; however, the steak was so-so. Nothing extraordinary considering the price. The wait staff was miserable. We were seated 45 minutes AFTER our ADR time. I waited for 15 minutes after I placed a drink order to get my cocktail, the bread was late in being served and, in general, our server seemed intent upon taking care of another party of 8 which had her overwhelmed with drink orders/special requests and who had been seated prior to us. I was with 2 other adults and one child and the other adults had the same thought as I did--"What's the big deal with LeCellier?"

I'm glad I tried it--but won't be going back anytime soon.

Mama Melroses for sure. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time, did not keep us in drinks, and the food was definately a let down. Wasn't our most expensive meal, but was the hardest to pay for. Quality was lacking. Dena

Sci Fi for us. The first time we went, we thought it would really be an experience. The food was horrible, the service was not so great and the atmosphere was not that fun. We were expecting better quality in food, service and atmosphere.

Overall Disney Dining was not what we thought it was going to be and we were let down. From reading reviews and posts we were expecting the best food ever. The food was fine, but only three places would begin to fall into the "Best Food Ever" category. The rest was all pretty much what I'd experience at a local chain. (Notable standouts for great food and service - Victoria & Albert's, Jiko, LeCellier the fillet melted in my mouth!)

A few that I was expecting to be a great experience and great food, fell short in both categories, so those are probably my biggest letdowns.

Kona Breakfast - Tonga toast was a major letdown and the waitress spent our entire meal not assisting us, but chatting about her hometown and state with a group from New Jersey at a the table behind us.

Whispering Canyon Cafe Dinner - Food was horrible and the service was average to poor. No antics unless we basically forced the issue, and I swear our waiter had an invisibility cloak.

A year and a half ago we tried Donald's Breakfastosaurus. The character interaction was really good, but we compared the food to that of the breakfasts we have had from The Crystal Palace. We really enjoy CP's food selection and freshness. So DB's breakfast was a let down. However, my father who had nothing to compare it to really liked it. I wonder if DB's breakfast has improved, hasn't it moved to a new location?

Ours was the Garden Grill. We found that the food was not edible and that, coupled with the fact that we were seated in the upper section, right by the servers entry area to the center, made for the most disappointing meal EVER! Sitting in the upper section is also bad, as you cannot see the scenery (unless you would like to rude and uncomfortable and stand up continually)! The characters were cute, that was the only real plus of the night!

I agree on Whispering Canyon Cafe. I was fine that we didn't have any antics, but most other servers were doing something. The service was slow and the food was not that good in my opinion. Had it not been for the bottomless milkshake, which was unbelieveable, I would have been very, very disappointed.

I had DD's birthday dinner at Chef Mickey's last April. I called ahead of time and ordered a cake for her. We went all through dinner w/DD dressed up knowing it was her bday, watching all the other kids and adults get cakes and singing the celebration song with the characters. The food was awful (we had been there about 4 times in the previous two years and this was definately the worst). We were pretty much ignored and didn't see our server for most of the meal. He came around as I was at the buffet and DH didn't think to ask about the cake so the next time I got to see him was when he brought the check near closing time.I asked him when the cake was coming and could tell by the look on his face that he had no idea what I was talking about and was seriously afraid of asking "what cake?". LOL, poor guy, I feel sorry for him now because he was sooooo upset when he went back and found out I really had ordered a cake. He even brought back the slips to show me that the person in the front had not stamped anything on it when we checked in so he had no way of knowing. They brought out a partially frozen cake that looked horrible and tasted even worse when it was defrosted enough to eat. It was small, ugly, dehydrated, and just plain terrible. They did get all the characters out to our table to celebrate with DD but she had already been through seeing everyone else's celebrations that she wasn't really interested in anything but trying the cake....that she hated.

Overall we have had wonderful dining experiences at WDW, but the only places we have had let down meals were at Tony's Town Square and Coral Reef. We had been to each of these before but our last trips were not very good, food and service wise. It may have just been an off day for them but it was disappointing enough that we have chosen to skip them the last couple of trips.

Mine would be a tie.

1. Whispering Canyon. Hated the food, hated the atmosphere. I could see someone with small children wanting to go for the atmosphere, perhaps, but the food. Ick.

2. Le Cellier. There are several other places to get a better tasting steak that have a much nicer atmosphere to enjoy dining.

We had to try it but....it wasn't that great. I DID love the mussels and the dessert but the beef had a funny-tasting sauce and the children had a difficult time choosing something the liked. Probably wouldn't do this again.

Our surprise hit was Chef Mickey's. The buffet was plain but the food was hot and surprisingly good!!! We went the night of the PPP and would have stayed longer if we didn't have to hurry.

an over four hour ordeal of bad food in a "packed to the gills" setting (one of us would need to get up & move the chair in each time a waiter/waitress came through).
we could have tolerated the severe over-crowding, extremelly poor service (almost 2 hours after ordering to receive any beverage or food, appys brought out after the entree, never received a single refill despite numerous requests), but the food was simply disgusting (& this was with a party of 7 very easy going people ~ no one ate ).
the desserts were ok (not great, but at least edible), & the view of illuminations wonderful. btw, as soon as we left R&C, we bought food elsewhere & ate in the villa.

R&C is the only restaurant in all of WDW that i will absolutely never go back to

Yachtsman Steakhouse, the food orders were mixed up, no one's steak was cooked as requested, the waitress disappeared, we ordered dessert and someone else came out with them, and brought them over, when I asked what it was the waiter replied, that he didn't know what they were, but I must know as I ordered them.

Turns out it wasn't our order but another table's order, and the whole thing was a shambles. The waitress hovered close by though when it was time to pay the bill, looking for her tip, it was appalling, perhaps if it were not a signature restaurant we would not have been quite as disappointed, but for a 2ts location I expected better.

I think from reading the raves on this board - my expectations were too high. It was freezing in there, the services was horrible and the food was barely "ok".

i would say that my least favorite TS was Sci-Fi Diner at DHS. I think we made the mistake of NOT getting the burgers, so we made a more' risky' dicision
