I just found your PTR and only read the 1st page, but I feel compelled to comment. I too had a bad relationship - but I was married for 16 years before getting out, anyway - I am now married to the love of my life who I worked with for 10 years and thought no way is he** would he ever look at me. Funny how life is! I have several tattoos - my newest one is a mickey on my foot with pixie dust going up and around my ankle and Snow White is my princess!! I too love to collect stuff to scrapbook - maybe someday I will use it all! Anyway congrats for finding your prince ( my dh is my Prince Charming!) and I look forward to reading along!

That is funny - I lived in Barnegat since 1980 until my divorce in 2005! But I am right next door now!! Congrats on less than a year for you! Hubby and I are maybe planning a January get away - I hope I hope!!

I am most definitely doing happy dances all over the place! although, I won't lie, I am sad that this years trip was supposed to be this week! but, like many have said, it will make next years trip even better!

OK guys..it is happening.. You know, the part where your mind starts wondering, and wandering..what if..or maybe I should, well I could...


For some reason, the idea of the cost of my trip is KILLING me. Idk, if I think the trip won't happen, or whatever, but I am having terrible fear about choosing to stay at AKL.

So, of course now, my mind is entertaining a value! Bob said no way to CSR, and the saving to stay at a mod aren't that great anyway, not enough to down grade anyway.

Anywho, I won't know any real monies until tax season, but I am freaking out that my dream of staying at AKL won't happen now.

After I typed that, I kind of figured that's what it was and I can't say that I blame him (after you make your "own" memories, you can go back there and you'll never even think about those days).

Just saw on Sophia's FB that they are on the monorail on way to CP for breakfast (she said the monorail was shaking really bad and she was scared). Three more days for us....

Don't worry! Just wait and see! I understand why he would want to skip out on AKL, and if you're going to downgrade to save money, I definitely would just go all the way down to a value...but that's just me. And you know we just love POP, but we're cheapos to begin with. No matter what, you'll still have lots of great stuff (park hoppers, deluxe dining). And if you stay at Pop, I know of some wild people who would be willing to keep you company by the pool!

What about a split stay? I SO wish I could come down for a few days, stay with K&J so you & Bob could have a few nights to yourselves.

So the newly converted budgeteer in me says this...

Forget what you have planned. Talk about it and decide what you do want to spend. Talk about what you can reasonably put away without incurring debt, or sacrificing the important things you need to live (I'm all about giving up going out to eat during the year if it means I can live it up at Disney, but you can't give up paying your electric bill). So whatever that number is has to be it. Then work it back from there. Decide what you will give up to hit that number. A split stay, the regular dining plan, a value, a mod, less park days, way less souvies. There are a million combination of things you can do to get your budget and still have a fantastic trip. But whatever that number is--you have to stick to it.

I know the feeling. I always go through the debate about whether it is too much money or not, if we are making the right decisions, etc. It will all turn out fine. I'm sure even if you choose to go value, you will be have a blast.
