Your first car

I had a 1985 I think Chevy Chevette :guilty: . It was black and silver and the stupid thing had this kick after you would shut it off. One time it actually started back up again. :guilty: Oh I wanted to die, I just kept walking into the mall. It had 2 FM buttons on the radio and 4 AM buttons. Oh it was so bad.

A 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that you had to "dock".It was a great car to take if you had a lot of people to transport. It had white leather seats and power windows. I think I paid $200 for it in 1980. I saved all summer so that I could have a car to drive to school during my senior year of high school.

A 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass station wagon. It was blue and wood panelled, pretty ugly. And a huge hunk of junk. I bought it from a neighbor because it was all I could afford. Little did I know that his car was the neighbors "toy" for trying out his electrician skills. Needless to say he had none. Most electrical things in the car did strange things. The radio had issues. Every time I tuned it to the local FM station it would change after 5 minutes to some religious AM station. I replaced the radio about two months later. I am so glad I got rid of that car. It was embarrassing to drive and it left me stranded everywhere.

my very first car was a 1987 honda civic (white) name was randy. I totaled it.

1998 a red camry. i had it until i was 20. then i bought a red pt cruiser. now i got a red nissan armada. i must have a thing with red.

My first car was my grandparent's 10 year old Lincoln. My friends and I named it the "Tank". This was before seatbelt laws and we'd pile 11 people in the car for road trips-we had a blast. It was like this but navy blue.

My first car was a little 1985 Honda Accord DX, bought used. I loved that car so much! It was rusty, and the paint was two different shades of blue/gray, but it was mine! It was a stick shift, and I stalled everywhere the first couple months trying to master it. Finally got the "stick" thing going, and nowadays sticks are the only thing I will drive! :drive: Me and my car did everything together - got into some teenage trouble in it :teeth: but I loved it so much, never wanted to ever part with it! I tried to keep it forever, but finally the engine gave out in 1997, and I donated it away to the Salvation Army.

My goal someday when I am super financially comfortable (and have more parking where I live), is to buy a similar 1985 Accord and fix it up! :cloud9:

I feel teary-eyed just looking at my old Accord!

My first car was a 1960 Chevy(we still don't know what make it was) it was huge. It had 4 doors, and no power steering and I had to park it on the street in the city. Sometimes when I got off work at midnight I would have to go around the block 15 times until I found a spot. :moped: The car was red and had been painted with a paintbrush and cost $50 in 1985. :rotfl: Oh and you always had to warm it up at least 10 mintues before you could go anywhere.

I bought a green 72 Plymouth Scamp! :rotfl: hey 600.00 and no car payment!

My first car (this is the worst) I bought in 1981 was a Brown Ford Pinto-can't remember what year it was. I drove it for about 2 years. My sister nicknamed it the "Calypso" because I had bumper stickers that said "I love whales", "Save the Dolphins"..... and all kinds of tropical parafanalia inside. I learned to drive a stick with that car and all of my cars have been sticks ever since. It was a piece of crap but it was my 1st car and my 1st stint of independence and the only way I had any privacy or time to myself so I loved that car.

1978 Mustang II midnight blue with a tan vinyl top

When I got it, it was just considered old... not classic yet.

I wish I still had that car!

A 1954 Ford, purchased in 1960. I was 16 and used it to go to work after school. Worked in a hospital kitchen, for $0.85/hour, which paid for gas which was about $0.28/gallon.

It was very basic, solid black, an in-line 6-cylinder, stick shift (on the column, not on the floor like today). It did have a radio. No turn signals though (you signaled with your left hand).

I traded it in about a year later for a 1956 Ford Convertible, two-tone blue.
