I'll be in Disney on Saturday, woohoo!! Just curious what everyone's favorite thing to do is on the first day. I'll be landing in the afternoon so we will have some late afternoon and evening time to spend on our first day. Any suggestions? :cool1: Thanks! :)

Hi ! We usually get a morning flight out and are there at about lunch time we usually stay 11 days 10 nights and get 10 day hopper passes, usually we dont have time our last day to do to the parks so when we arrive we check in the hotel go to the room drop the stuff off and hit MGM always first hehe just a tradition with us. We run to tower of terror and RNR do it a few times go and eat a late lunch then hit the rides again eat dinner then usually go off to the kingdom or whatever park is open late that night... I tend to do comando when I am there I wear everyone out LOL Mind you last year at Pop we hit the pool first as it was hotter then H*LL when we arrived so we swam first got our refillable mugs had some ice'ys then hit MGM

If we arrive late in the day we generally do nothing but head to bed and watch the Top 7 thing four or five times! If we arrive earlier we generally swim in our resort pool and have dinner at the food court ans watch Top 7 10 or 12 times! On our first full day, at some point we have to head to MK for dinner at LTT and Wishes. I can't feel like I'm at WDW until I see the castle! And my best case scenario is that they are running Spectro on our first full night.

We arrive in the late afternoon as well. We tend to head out to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping. What's more fun than eating and shopping?

Beginning and Ending it's always Magic Kingdom for us. It doesn't matter if we just stand on Main Street. It just doesn't feel like we're really there until we are at the Magic Kingdom!

We'll be there this Saturday too!! Wooooo Hooooooo! We are leaving Wednesday afternooon and we can't wait! This is going to be the longest 2 1/2 day work week ever!!

We usually go to DD for food, shopping and fun. We have always had Hopper passes in the past and I've hated the idea of using a whole day for just a few hours so DD works great for us. I just ordered AP's so it might be hard to stay away from the parks now....I think I would check touring plans best days and decide what park would be less crowded for that evening...Good Luck!! :thumbsup2

If we arrive early enough that I'm ok with using a park day off of the tickets, it's MK all the way. Whatever our first park day is, it starts off by walking under the railroad and up Main Street. Nothing like it to say "We're in WDW!"

If we arrive late at night, it's dinner, unpacking, and bed. If we arrive with some time, but not enough to go to a park, I'd head to DTD, or hang out by our resort pool, or maybe wander around another resort or two... something like that.

We usually arrive around lunch time. We hit the pool, unpack and rest from the drive down from PA. We then go to Chef Mickey's for supper. Ride the monorail and turn in for the night. :sunny:

Well, this year I am driving and plan on getting into town by noon or so. I thought we would start out having lunch in DTD and maybe go to Disney Quest ( I got the upgrade promo going on right now!! :thumbsup2 ). Then having dinner at Biergarten in Epcot. Finally, ending our day hopping on the monorail to Magic Kingdom to catch Spectro and Wishes!! Crossing fingers all goes according to plan!! (Although it doesn't really matter if it does because we are in DISNEY no matter how we spend our first day!!) :cloud9:

We see FOTLK as our first attraction. We check in early and then head to DAK to see that show. Something about that first song screams, "You're in WDW!"

Planning on catching the 2:00 show on August 19 after checking into the BC.

I like to go to the resort first. If my room is ready, I like to check it out, especially the view I have, if I have a good one, that is. I'll then go to Magic Kingdom, because it is not a vacation for me until I'm on Main Street, USA, looking at Cinderella's Castle.

We usually unpack, go grocery shopping, then head over to the CR to the California Grill for dinner. I usually like to let it settle in that I'm actually at WDW by just staring out the window the MK. After that, it's a toss up - sometimes we go to MK to finish out the night, or we head back to the resort to rest up for the next day. We're staying at the BCV this year, though, so I'm going to see if we can squeeze in Illuminations after dinner.... thinking about all of this just makes it feel like June will never get here. :scared:

party: HOOP-DEE-DOO party:

did that come across with enough enthusiasim??!?!?! We love the HDD. it is a first night tradition for us. gets us all in the WDW spirit.

We usually arrive around 2 in the afternoon. We check in and unpack and then head to Downtown Disney to soak up some magic. Then the girls swim and we relax and get ready for the next day in the parks!!! :thumbsup2

We're usually there by noon so we jump on the first park bus we see and go to that park. I couldn't stand not going to a park the first day. This year (we leave in 23 days) we're going to AK first since we're going to eat at Boma's the first night.

Have a really magical time!! pixiedust:

I always take the first flight out of Buffalo. Usually about 6:15 am or so.

We rent a car, and stop at a McDonald's (usually at Crossroads) for some lunch before checking in.

We check in, eat, and head out to a park!

If I had to arrive later in the day, I think I would arrange ADRs at Spoodle's or Cape May Cafe for the evening. I'd then hang out on the Boardwalk and see the higher fireworks during Illuminations.

We normally stay at the in-laws' house the night before. We wake up early and head to Orlando. For some reason, this has always worked out to be a Sunday. Our first stop: Animal Kingdom. We normally go in September so we have the luxury of roaming aimlessly looking at the animals. Our kids love doing this. When I was a kid, I would have been begging to go to Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain first. For some reason, our kids love the animals. Cool.
Our first attraction is always It's Tough to be a Bug. I absolutely love the waiting area of this show (my favorite poster is Beauty and the Bees... I wish I had a framed copy of that poster). That's when it usualy hits me that we are actually at WDW.

This is the same for us! Even if we arrive mid-day..we always head to the Magic Kingdom for awhile until it's closer to our room being ready. Then we get unpacked and settled in, then it's time for our supper reservations. We try to reserve Chef Mickey's for our first night every time! After we're done eating, we head back to the Magic Kingdom to watch Spectro and Wishes! Then we feel that we are officially at WDW!
