We are going back for the 3rd time in a year :goodvibes and not doing any of the 4 main parks. We have tickets, I just don't want to beat the heat, and frankly there is so much to WDW we have never seen because we are park-hopping.

I have eaten at a lot of places over the years, but still want some ideas. We are a family of 3 with a DD who is 2. She is really good at restaurants, but we still need to keep her busy. So can you recommend a favorite non-theme park place to eat, keeping in mind that we have a 2 YO?

P/S We already have Boma for dinner and O'hana for a character breakfast.

Thanks!

If I read this correctly you don't want any character/Theme places.
Wave
Maya Grill
WCC

You've already picked my two favorites. I get hungry for a variety of great food everytime I even think of Boma. That is my overall favorite at WDW. And breakfast at 'Ohana was also great and fun for the kids.

Whoops! My hyphen is confusing and I guess wrong. I mean non-theme-park. Is that right/better? Anyway, we aren't going to any of the 4 theme parks, so any resort or DTD restaurant is fair game!

Thanks for the ideas! I was also thinking about WCC or something over at the FW/WL area.

DTD:
Fulton's (our favorite)
Earl of Sandwich (much better than you would think)
Wolfgang Puck
Ice Cream at Ghirardelli

Food just OK, but Kids love
Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex

Resorts
Kona Cafe (Ponynesian)
Cape May Clambake buffet (Beach Club)
Whispering Canyon (great for Kids)

We really liked Earl of Sandwich, too. We tried it over the holidays and were really happy with what we had...not too expensive, either!

Usually hit the Rainforest Cafe while at WDW. It's a lot of fun if you don't mind some noise.

I have never been to Cape May but it's where my family takes my mom (I live out of state) every Mother's Day. They love it and eat a ton. You have to like seafood, though.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe is nice but one of my favorite treats is a pretzel from Wetzels Pretzels (DTD). I can never decide so I usually get a pretzel dog AND a Garlic Pretzel. Only on vacation could I do that and feel guilt-free!

My suggestion is Cape May. But I am not a seafood or fish eater. They have a great selection for those of us who avoid seafood. Their baked chicken is outstanding.

Chef Mickey's has food for everyone and characters that visit every table. WCC would be another good choice. Both are very noisy, if your little one is phased by noise I wouldn't choose either. If you visit WCC there is a short walk through the woods to Fort Wilderness where you can get pony rides and carriage rides. It is a nice resort to wander around, early evening there are usually deer around to see.

Chef Mickey's - fun atmosphere & good buffet w/nice selection of food items + good character interaction with the Fab 5.

I see you have 'Ohana for breakfast, you should also consider dinner there, great food and a fun time!

Love dinner at O'Hana and also really enjoyed Raglan Road at DTD. Kona breakfast is a must for us.

Thanks for the ideas. I booked WCC for a dinner, and we have the O'hana character meal for breakfast - I don't know that we will do another that week. But we'll see! She loved Crystal Palace so we may try to get Chef Mickeys. Do they do a lunch or dinner?

DD is allergic to peanuts and shellfish, so no seafood buffet for us (although I do love me some Fulton's Crab House!).

Chef Mickey's does have dinner - we usually eat there on our first night. At her age, I think she would love it! Also, if she enjoyed Crystal Palace, you could try 1900 Park Fare at the GF. The Pooh characters are there for breakfast; its Cinderella, Prince Charming, stepmother and stepsisters for dinner.

Oops - I goofed! 1900 Park Fare's breakfast is now Alice in Wonderland characters, not Pooh characters (it was Pooh when we visited in 2002). Sorry!:)

Our favorite restaurant is Narcoossee's over at the Grand Floridian. Great steak and seafood. The view is also wonderful. You won't have a trouble with the baby there either.

Other favorites include Boma, Jiko, and The Wave.
