Okay, people of dirty hands. Tell me what your favorite flowers or plants are and why.
Mine is my toad lily. I live in zone 9 and it gets far too hot in the summer. My little toad lillies are in full shade. I've tried to grow them before and failed, until I learned that besides regular daily watering, they needed to be misted here because of the heat. So, they are my babies.
My other favorites are my shade garden (hostas, coral bells, daphne, rhodies and my great grandma's christmas rose), which is ironic to most because a lot of plants that grow in full sun elsewhere would die a painful death in our summer sun.

I loved my peonies and lilacs when they were blooming. Now I'm drooling over my Gerbera Daisies, mini roses, Dahlia's and Martha Washington Geraniums. Give me a couple days and it'll be my asiatic lilies too. Ohhh and I can't forget my trailing geraniums and there's another trailing red flower I got this year......hmm I'll have to find my markers and figure out it's name. Anyone know how long turtle eggs take to hatch? Found a nest of turtle eggs in the back corner of the flowers too.
But my last baby graduated high school and is starting college this fall ..... and i think i needed something to nurture
thats what I tell them at the garden store when they say "here she comes again"
you can bet I'll be back
