Your biggest atheltic achievment

I've had other athletic accomplishments before and since that some my think were more impressive, but the one that meant the most to me personally was winning my saddle seat pattern class in the first meet of my senior year of high school equestrian team. That, with my solid performances in other saddle seat classes that morning put my little team at the top of the standings for several hours. We never won anything, we didn't really have a coach and we taught ourselves to ride, we could barely pay for our horses and borrowed other people's second hand tack and show clothes, and we were up against kids who had been doing this since they were toddlers and had nothing but the best. But for that little bit of time one fall morning, we were in the lead, and everyone else had to chase us.

And I and my Silbaska did it together, in the class that we both most enjoyed. She's gone now, but she was such a good partner. She knew that pattern better than I did.

First degree black belt in tae kwon do.... working on my second degree. Also State Champ for my age group in XMA (xtreme martial arts) forms and weapons.

Ran the disney marathon, then visited all four parks with the family, rode at least 3 big rides in each park and had photo taken. All on the same day. Had been up since 3am, closed the park down. Have the photos to prove it LOL.

Had to wear Mickey slippers home on the plane the next day because my shoes didn't fit.

When I was a kid, qualifying to the State Gymnastics Championships when I wasn't expected to. In my 20s, finishing a half marathon - which was more satisfying. When you go from a sport were you're constantly doing what you're told, it feels amazing to to do everything out of your own motivation and discipline.

I've run 5ks, 10k, halfs, and a couple of baby ultras. I've done the Dopey (Goofy plus the 5k on Friday), and run every day for close to 3 years.

But the biggest, most athletic, challenge I have done so far has got to be keeping up with my kids. :rotfl:

Baby ultras - ouch!!! I'm not worthy.

Getting my MBA and playing arena football for a few years, After messing up my full ride in D1 college (to much partying not enough studying).

First game back after not playing a few years b/c of my stupidity... will never forget it.

I beat the Cross Country State Champion in a grudge match of One on One in Basketball. Thats it :rotfl:

Ive played on CIF Soccer teams, AYSO champion teams, Ive been played on A level 16" Softball Teams that won Nat Champs 7 years running. Ive played on numerous Tourny Softball teams that have won the tournys, and our league championships.

Now im just an old fart who can barely climb stairs....

Completing a full marathon.

New goals hopefully achieved in the next 2 years
1. Goofy
2. triathlon

I am not and never will be athletic. Dunno why, just never took a liking to sports. I'm clumsy and uncoordinated and often ended up embarrassing myself... which is why my biggest achievement would be getting 3rd place in an event at fifth grade field day. It was sitting on one of those bouncy balls and racing other kids. Granted, there were only three of us... but I still got a ribbon.

My very first race ever - the WDW Half-marathon in 2007. Going from groaning while getting out of a chair to running/walking a half was quite an accomplishment for me...and the most challenging of all the races I've completed. However, I still groan while getting out of the chair at times. :teeth:

3 weeks ago today, at the age of 60, without any previous training, I completed a 1 1/2 flip in the air after being ejected from my bicycle at the 77.25 mile mark of a 100 mile ride and then landed on my right shoulder. Had I taken the time to train for this event when younger, I might not now be bothered by the C6 fracture or the clavicle fracture that has put a damper on life, itself. Remember, practice makes perfect.:lmao:

YIKES!!!!! Hope you heal quickly!!!!

After running in many 5K races, I FINALLY came in first in my age group!!! Yay me!!!!!

i finished 3 5k's under 55 minutes.

might not sound like a big deal but i get shortness of breath easy and have never been able to exert myself longer then half an hour

Hey, even if you are the last one to finish you still beat everyone who didn't even bother to start.

Exactly! DLF beats DNF beats DNS. (Or, dead last finish beats did not finish beats did not start.)

@castleview - Nah, the difference between a marathon and a 50k ultra isn't so great. The main difference is in the mindset - it's a lot less competitive, more supporting, and pretty laid back. Part of that is because there are no real awards or prizes, and you are really only racing against yourself. Besides, if someone passes you at mile 12, you still have 18 miles to make up the gap. The other big difference is the aid station - chips, cookies, M&Ms, coke, gatorade, water, pretzels, candy, nuts, and more are common. Gu is rare.

I am stunned at your abilities without any practice whatsoever, yet I commiserate with how it ended...!

I have zero athletic ability, even by accident!

Completed numerous 5K's, 10K's, and half-marathons. But now I am athletic only vicariously through the athletes that I coach-2 track All-Americans and an Olympic Trials qualifier.
