Rock N Roller Coaster Secrets:

~The "chicken exit" is for those who want to experience everything except the actual ride. It can be found having exited the "recording studios" walk along by the side of the fencing to where the first CM allows you to get into boarding area. Behind the CM is a door which takes you through to the shop at the end of the ride.

I don't mean to be dense and since, I've never been on RnR, but I've never heard of this. What is actual experience everything except the ride? Can you pre-plan this with the CM? Do they ask?

I don't ride roller coasters, but I'd be willing to do this, if I knew how to!

There is a nice little "pre show" (featuring Aerosmith) prior to the actual roller coaster ride itself. The theme for this ride is that you are riding in a massive, super speedy stretch limo to make it to an Aerosmith concert on time.

I have a CD Rom a fellow Disney enthusiast got me for Christmas that's from 1996. It opens to a cartoonish map of all the WDW property. Once you choose a particular park, resort, golf course, whatever, it opens that area and you can choose subcategories within the parks. For instance, choose Magic Kingdom and it opens a map of MK where you can choose each area. Within that area are all the attractions (as of 1996). They even have attractions that were no longer in action at that time. Each attraction has triva, history, and special facts about each area. Some of them even have video clips of that ride. There are even hidden Mickeys to find in there.

Alot of the secrets everyone has been listing here are included in this thread. There's some pretty basic stuff I felt like I should have known but didn't like....

The tree in Liberty Square holds 13 laterns. 1 for each of the original 13 colonies. Stuff such as that.

There's also a cool bonus feature on the map that shows a historical timeline for WDW using a monorail as the marker. It's really cool!

I kinda' like the fact that it's a little out of date. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was my favorite ride as a kid. I was glad they still had it on there even though it was no longer in operation at the time the disc was made.

I also liked the little Monorail Timeline section. It was cool to know when each attractions/resort/park Opening was.

My tip is to be really friendly with the person at the ticket window just before going into the kingdom. When we went last year I chatted with this person and they gave me two passes that worked like fast passes for all 8 people in our group. For any ride in MK for our whole weekend. It was nice to have that little bit of security incase of long lines.

I can't impart to you how sad the loss of small bits of magic like the one you describe above make me. I too recently discovered that the dresser was removed during the last rehab, along with other wonderful little touches that shop used to have. Guests can still "wake Tinker Bell," but she's at the other end of the store now, and that's about all that is left of the old store.

The average visitor may not have noticed these details, but once upon a time, the shop used to be richly themed into two areas: the children's bedroom, where the Tink dresser was located, and the pirate ship on the other end of the store, where the floor was made of planks and the wood trim and fixtures looked like what you might find on a sailing ship. Also in the store was one of my favorite little touches in the Magic Kingdom: on the wall were pencil markings of the heights of the children. I was heartbroken to find it had been painted over! The loss of details such as these actually bother me more than an attraction closing, believe it or not. Is all of this gone forever? Well, nothing is ever forever at the World, but I doubt any of it will be back, I'm sorry to say. It has to live on in our memories.

i love these bits of information. not sure if this has been shared, but i learned this on the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. look at the top of Haunted Mansion, the rod iron decorations on top of the house are actually chess pieces. one of the imagineers who worked on the project loved chess! i cannot remember the rest, but I know that there is one piece missing i think..and there was a reason but i dont remember..anyone know what im talking about???
