We've flown out of PHL to MCO twice via USAir and Delta and connected through there twice, so I'm not a stranger to the airport and its choices. The next 2 trips, in Oct. 2007 and March 2008 we're looking to the 'non-legacy' carriers like AirTran, SW, JetBlue etc. We want an early non-stop mid week going down and a 10 am or so return flight coming home. I'd appreciate any info on your best recent RT rate, which carrier you used and any other useful tips. Thanks in advance for any replies.

From Philadelphia you've basiclly got two options. Airtran or Southwest. Possibly USA 3000. Airtran will post their flights sooner than southwest.

I prefer Airtran to Southwest.

As another option you could use Baltimore or possible Newark airport to get cheaper flights, but there seems to be an airfare war between SW and Airtran at PHL resulting in 49 dollar flights.

Good Luck

We've been flying SW out of Philly our last few trips. We typically get flight 2265 out of PHL. No problems at all. Gets us to MCO by noon, which is perfect. The only bummer about SW is the 'no assigned seats' deal, but if you get your boarding pass 24 hrs in advance and get to the airport at a reasonable time, you won't have a problem.
