your best character interaction?

We've had fun interactions. My top few:
Brer Rabbit, this year. You can tell by my name that meeting Brer Rabbit has long been on my must-do list but we've never come across him before. I hugged him (really a her) for dear life for a while. We have fun pictures.

Pluto- also this year. One of my friends (adult) refused to be in the photo and Pluto chased her around the room. It was in the Disney Visa meet and greet and went on for quite a while.

Daisy and Donald- a couple of years ago. I told Daisy I'd been looking for her many times and had never seen her before. Donald had a fit and stamped his foot. He was mad! (I was kind of ignoring him). Everyone around me was laughing but I was kind of embarrassed. It was in an open area in Epcot when they did the character bus and Donald put on quite a show.

Face characters are the best. Cruella made me do a crazy pose and the queen from Snow White was downright scary. Pinocchio, Belle, and Snow White have each made Disney a magical memory for my niece and nephew.

:rotfl: :lmao: Thanks for the laugh. What a great pic!

Goofy was great last year with the kids, he got down on one knee and gave my daughter a kiss.

And not exactly character but last weekend everyone was so wonderful to my dd. A CM in World Of Disney got down, held her hand and sang her happy birthday. A different CM let her know goofy was on the phone to wish her happy birthday :lovestruc and everyone went out of the way to tell her happy birthday. It was so nice. :wizard:

My favorite interaction took place at Ohana during breakfast. Stitch came over to our table. First he saw I was wearing a golf shirt with his logo on the chest. He proceeded to point at it, jump up and down and give me a big bear hug.

Then he went over to DW, he was playing with the hair tie in her hair and wound up pulling it out of her hair, then flicked it across the table and gave her a huge hug too. He then went back to the hair tie and flung it back at her.

I asked him if he had too much coconut cake and coffee and he jumped up and down and hugged me again.

I got it all on tape but when I went to view the movie when we got home, I found out my camcorder messed up and I did not have the video. :sad1:

That really made DW and I feel like kids again.

Last year we had an early dinner reservation at LTT... and we were granted a "dream" of ringing the opening bell. Well part of this dream was a private celebration with the LTT characters before we "appeared" with them up on the balcony of the restaurant and proclaim hosts for the night. We got to spend about 10 minutes with them... my boys who were 2 and 3 at the time were just absolutely in awe... they hugged and danced and laughed... it was amazing....

I am so sad this character meal is gone because it will always be special to us!

bradk - that pic is amazing!!!:thumbsup2

Even though we've only been to Disney twice, there are probably 10 or 15 character moments that are special to us!

But the best one was on our first trip...

We got married on a Tuesday at Disney. On Wednesday we went to the Magic Kingdom for the first time. We wore our wedding ears and were congratulated often by CMs, characters, and guests...it was so wonderful.

That evening we went to the Judges Tent in Toontown and saw that Minnie was there with "two special guests"...(our favorite characters are Minnie and Goofy). We were thrilled when we got there to see Goofy was one of the special guests!

We talked with Minnie and she ooh'd and ahh'd over my brand new wedding ring (and sniffed a little because she doesn't have one yet from Mickey).

Donald was very gracious...but we couldn't wait to see Goofy!!

When it was our turn to meet Goofy he noticed the ears and asked for our autograph book...we didn't have one. Goofy quickly ran and "borrowed" an autograph book from another guest and married us again right there in the tent with a whole bunch of new friends as guests!!!

To this day, my husband insists we were married twice at Disney!;)

Finally a thread I can reply to!!!

We were at Epcot the Saturday before Thanksgiving 2008 and Chip & Dale were outside Innoventions West with a short line.

When DS6 went up for an autograph, Chip checked over his lanyard. Apparently they don't like Donald Duck, and when they saw Donald's pin, Dale took the pin off the lanyard while Chip distracted him with a hug. Dale actually went and buried the pin in the mulch. Chip then played with Grandma and Grandpa, dancing with Grandma then taking her for a walk almost all the way to the Soar'n building.

In the meantime, Dale took DS6 through the shrubbery to a tree and wanted DS6 to help him climb it. Dale was trying to show DS6 how to put his hands together so he could boost him into the tree.

Eventually Chip came back, Dale found the pin he buried and all was well. There was a bit of a line behind us by then and I did feel bad, but it really was Chip & Dale's fault. How could I stop the magical memories? Anyone care to see a "few" pictures? :lovestruc

This is a picture story. I am a HUGE Captain Hook fan, one night I made a Captain Hook shirt myself via iron on transfers since I couldn't find one to buy, on the front is a montage of pics and it says "Captain Hook. Lord of Neverland" on the back a pic of Hook with his hook at Peter's throat and it says "Peter Pan is a codfish"

Welllll I wore it, and no sooner do I get in line than the CM starts talking to me and she makes a big deal out of it. As soon as it's my turn she says "Captain! I found your Princess!"

DisneyAgain704.jpg

DisneyAgain706.jpg

Then Smee starts calling me crazy, and I try to give him a hug.

DisneyAgain710.jpg

This only results in him geting mad that HE isn't on my shirt.

DisneyAgain711.jpg

So while the Good Captain signs my book Smee actually walks off, forcing hook to go get him.

DisneyAgain714.jpg

DisneyAgain715.jpg

DisneyAgain716.jpg

THEN he won't give my book back.

DisneyAgain005.jpg

DisneyAgain005-1.jpg

DisneyAgain006.jpg

THEN he refuses to take a picture with me.

DisneyAgain720.jpg

In the end he finally did, to make matters BETTER right as we were taking pics out came Peter and Wendy so Hook grabbed me by the hand and we chased them down to taunt them, he spun me around and pointed at my shirt. Peter's clever retort? "I can't read....sorry.." So I called him a stinky codfish. I have video of that, but it's MASSIVE, but here's an after-shot, me and Hook dancing.

And this has happened on more than one occasion. Guess I'm remembered.

In 2000, My husband and I took our took kids aged 10 and 8 to WDW with a friend aged 11. My brother and his wife and three kids aged 12, 9, and 7 were with us too. We went to a character breakfast at the Contemporary. All the kids had been to WDW with the exception of the 11 year old friend. My nephews are more interested in video games than "human" interaction.

Goofy poured OJ on the 11 year old friend's head. It was great. If it had been one of my nephews it wouldn't have been good. If it was one of my kids who had already been there a number of times it would have been funny. But being the friend it was really magical. Goofy definitely picked the right kid to "pick on."

I am loving the character stories! More!

(see, this is why we do the character finder!)

Last week, DD4 and I asked around at the UK for where to find Mary Poppins. DD4 and I rented that movie from the library for weeks on end. I was surprised how much she loved it.
We finally got directed to the right spot, and stood around for a while wondering were we at the right "wall" -- then a photographer came out and confirmed we were -- and explained how she can't take Mary Poppins pics. (Apparently Julie Andrews has the rights.)
When Mary came out, DD4 and I told her we love her movie but can't quite get the finger clicking thing to work to clean up at home. She spent the longest time helping DD to click her fingers and I realized this was not going to be a quick stop and pulled out the camera for oodles of great shots.
Meanwhile, a line formed, and started growing and growing ...
Maybe that's why DD got the mean dirty looks from a strange woman later that week in the Soarin' line? :confused3
I think Mary just knows a true fan when she meets one. :)

Oooh! I love these stories.
One of my favorites was watching Dopey dance with my DD13. It was late in the evening at EPCOT and the handler had already told us that we would be the last ones for the day, because Snow White and Dopey had to get back to the other dwarfs. So, my girls rushed up to get a quick autograph. They felt a little silly about it, since they were teenagers they thought they were too "old" for the characters, but since it was their very first trip, I didn't want them to miss out on anything. So, up they went.

Dopey grabbed my DD13 and started dancing with her. Around and around he swung her, with her laughing the whole time. He really made it special for her and wasn't in any hurry to leave. My other DD had lots of one-on-one time talking with Snow White, while Dopey danced. It was priceless!

In November of 1994 my girlfriend, Mary, and I were waiting in the vestibule for lunch at King Stefan's Banquet Hall (Cinderella's Royal Table these days). Cinderella made an appearance in the waiting room and greeted the little princesses waiting for her there. She then came over to Mary, produced a glass slipper and said, "My fairy godmother asked me to give this to you." On the slipper were engraved the words, "A perfect fit". I got down on one knee, produced a diamond ring and asked Mary to be my wife. Without a doubt that will always be my favorite character interaction because Mary said, "Yes!" and we have lived happily ever after.

I just remembered another fun character moment!! :goodvibes

It was our third day in the World, and we were at DHS (MGM at the time). In the past couple days, every time we met a character we asked them to dance with us, and every time they happily obliged (except for Minnie in Animal Kingdom...we still don't know why. :confused3 )

Well it was toward the end of our day at MGM, and we went up to meet Pinocchio at the hat. His movie is one of my favorites! We were the first in line, and there was a long line behind us, so we figured we would skip the dancing this time. But as Pinocchio was signing my autograph book, his suddenly started bobbing up and down to the background music playing. He bobbing got more and more exaggerated until suddenly he handed the autograph book to his handler, grabbed me, and started waltzing with me in the front of the hat. I was shocked and delighted, cracking up the whole time! :lmao:

We got it all on tape, but my camera was broken and I didn't end up getting it. It was the best part of that day though. :)

SO COOL! Great shirt! How magical. That's why I love DIsney. Just can't get the same from a rat at CHucky CHeese!

2007, My Ds had bought a my Pal Mickey. We were at AK and got In line to see Leo and and Stich,my DS went up there to meet and greet and get there autograph. Well they had a ball with my DS,they were play with his Mickey and the hat he had on and spent a good few minutes with him,my only problem was I had no camara:scared1: :scared1:

How did you arrange this or did it just work right out???

Last week (2 weeks ago now?) we were the first ones to be seated for dinner at the Garden Grille.

Well, all the characters came out and we were really the only ones to greet. They all made big fusses over my little guy, but eventually he got cranky and just wanted to eat (and didn't like Pluto sniffing around his food), lol. Still they must have stopped at our table dozens of times!

In 2007 my DD was 2 and a half. We were in line to meet Cinderella, Snow White and Belle. As we finally got into the room where you could actually see the Princesses in their courts meeting with people...they were all in a line...Cinderelle 1st, the SW then Belle. We had about ten people still ahead of us and Belle stepped away from her court to pick my daughter out of the crowd! She came up to our family and asked my daughter her name. She then referred to my daughter as 'Princess Grace' and kissed her on the forehead! Her kiss left a perfect 'kiss' mark on her forehead and then she leaned in to whispered to my daughter and she asked her to think really hard of what her favorite book was. She told my daughter that she loves to read and that she had read almost all of her books in her huge library her Prince gave to her and she needed the names of some good stories to read. We waited patiently for our turn and then as my little princess made her way to see them all she got to Belle and Belle asked her if she had thought of a story yet. My daughter gave her the name of her favorite story and then they proceeded to have a visit. Photopass photogs...and my DH got tons of pics of them from in the line and when they were in Belles court!! If I could figure out how to get a pic in this post I would post it!! The kiss stayed on my daughters forehead all day and everywhere we went CM's stopped us for the rest of the day and remarked how special it was that my daughter had been 'kissed by a Princess'!

Thread lichery!

I want to read about more cool character interactions. I have months to go before we finally get back to Disney... I need my fix! :surfweb:

I just remembered this one. It wasn't one of family's interactions, but it was fun to watch. Earlier in day, we saw Lady Tremaine and the two step sisters. It was lots of fun. They cracked us all up. A little girl a few people ahead of us had a shirt on with Cinderella on it. They made a big fuss over it and called for some stain remover from the CMs. One of the CMs handed Drisella (sp?) a sticker with a rat on it that she put on the little girl's shirt to cover Cinderella's face.
My children were a little scared (apprehensive, really) about seeing them because of how loud they were. They said there was no reason to be scared of them. Now, if we were seeing Cinderella, they could understand being scared.
Later, we saw Anastasia chase a teenage boy pretty far away from their location. She was yelling all sorts of things at him. Honestly, I'm not sure if she was flirting or if he insulted her. But, it was great to see how well they all stayed in character to such extremes.
They were certainly one of the highlights that day.
