Young children at dinner

We are a family of four including a 4 and 2 yr old. I expect that we will be APLAPLA but the question I have is if they will put another family of 4 with two young children with us. The reason I ask is that it is somewhat zooish with just the four of us sitting at the dinner table, especially for 1 1/2 hrs. If there were more kids at the table, us adults might need to break out the Excedrin! Just curious how Disney handles families with small children. :D

It's been my experience that groups of 4 are at a table by themselves, unless they are with another family on the cruise. If you're traveling just the 4 of you without another family, I think you'll be alone and able to deal with your kids. Happy mealtime!:p

I thought that families with young children often, not always, got the PLAP rotation. Am I wrong on this, if so please correct me. I really want this rotation for my family (ds4, dd5) in May and I am thinking of emailing DU to request it. Thanks!

Okay, I think I'm confused . I thought the dining rotation was just at Disney's discretion. I didn't know families w/young children were rotated in a certain manner. (Did that make sense?) We are a family of 5, DH, DS-14, DD-11, DS-4 and myself.
I kind of hoped we would be by ourselves but after reading other messages on the board I figured we would be seated w/ other people. Any ideas on the rotation?

Thanks!

I thought that I had read somewhere on the boards that the dining rotation seems to get assigned something like this:

APLAPLA - Young children and babies
PLAPLAP - Mostly families with older children
LAPLAPL - Adults without children, families with teens

Can someone confirm?

I've been on the 7 day cruises with my twins when they were 3 and then 4. We've had both the APL and PLA rotations.

I know on their first cruise, my sister and her friends, who had children exactly the same ages, were initially in different rotations.

We were on the Magic last April with our ds who was a little over 3.... we had LAPLAPL rotation and late seating... When we got on board - I went to try to change the rotation so that we were with families with younger children... the cm actually checked who was at our table and told us that we were seated with another family with a 1 1/2 year old.... That was fine with us and we enjoyed our dining with our tablemates during the week....

We had the lapl rotation at the early seating with three adults and a 3 year old. We also shared our table with a family (someone we did not know) that had two adults, two teens and a 4 yr old. It is up to Disney's discretion and there really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

we were told on the Wonder that the second seating TAP rotation tends to be for adults without children and families with teens....
and that was definitely what it seemed to be....there were almost no little kids in our rotation (which was fine with us)....
