i'm wondering about that but not sure. how far along is she supposed to be? she has a baby bump but sharron doesn't and they are suppsed to be around the same time - i had a miscarriage when i was about 8 or 9 weeks along and it was extreamly painful but i didn't know i miscarried until the dr did bloodwork and told me.

tmi for those who never had one but while it was the most painful thing i had ever experienced what passed wouldn't have been confused for anything except chunky blood - ya gross i know.

but she would still be bleeding - it doesn't just stop that day. she should be wondering why on earth is she bleeding so much if she was still pg. and at some point one would think she would mention it to victor who should take her to the hospital

and why on earth are they not sleeping in the same bed????

Sorry, I lurk here a lot, as I'm a relatively "new" viewer of Y&R. When I read this question I couldn't help but chuckle as the only answer could be that the all powerful Victor never sleeps...or maybe he snores too loud for Ashley's tastes...or maybe he mumbles in his sleep (just like he does during the day)!

I really enjoy reading this thread though I admit that I don't really care for the actor that plays Victor.

Mac and Billy come close to having sex but Raul interrupts
Chloe tries to win Billy back, but he can't get his mind off Mac, Chloe finally decides to dump him
Ashley and Olivia talk about her new doctor and her excitement over her pregnancy (this woman still thinks she is pregnant!)
Phyllis thinks Jack and Mary Jane are a good match but Jack only thinks of Mary Jane as a fling
Mary Jane tells Victor she is clear to pursue Jack again now that Nick and Sharon are back together

Next:
Paul tells Nina that he found something interesting out about Violet
Cane trying to get Kay to have Nina stop asking questions
Victor saying to someone (not shown who) that he must have found out he's the father of Sharon's baby.

I gotta say the whole hysterical pregnancy thing is far fetched too - I know Ashley has gone mental with her last pregnancies/miscarriages but she's being portrayed as so shallow & meek.

That being said, however, almost 20 years ago I worked with a woman who had a hysterical pregnancy. She totally believed she was pregnant & went through the motions & talked about it all the time. Her family called work & told the supervisors that she had a miscarriage but was suffering post partum depression, and to "go along" with her hysterical pregnancy. :confused3 I was a teen, I didn't know what to do or think, along with everyone else. We kind of just nodded our heads & went "uh huh" when she talked constantly about her pregnancy & the new baby she was going to have. It was totally creepy & sad at the same time. No one called her out on it. This went on for about 2 months until she just never came back work. She called in to say she had a sick premature baby & needed to stay home to take care of it. A few years after that I became friends with her sister & when I asked about how she & her child were, the sister told me she never had any kids.....:scared1: So these things really do happen...

Oh, Kurby, I was so sad when I read your post. :sad1: Thanks for sharing.

:welcome: PDforMe, to our awesome DISer's Y&R thread. This IS the place to be for everything and anything Y&R!!! :thumbsup2

I love VICTOR. He is a Y&R icon. He has probably been the longest actor on the Show......HonnyDipp, is that true? :confused3

Thanks for the warm welcome. I had heard about the actor that played Victor...I guess he's like the Susan Lucci of Y&R. Maybe it isn't the actor I don't care for...maybe it's the character. He seems so one dimensional...just a mumbling, grumbling guy.

I appreciate the warm welcome and like I said, I'm a new viewer...I used to watch AMC and GH (on ABC) and they lost their appeal for me for a lot of reasons...so I'm trying something new.

ME TOO!!!!!!!! I was totally into AMC then OLTL and then GH........lost all interest and changed channels (around 1988) to Y&R and have been a fan fav since then. I do still lurk over at all the other soaps BUT am tried and true Y&R viewer. Yup, Victor is like Erica, been there FOREVER. He is rather POMPOUS.....you know, when you are a multi-billionaire and can throw all your money around.....BUT most of us LOVE to HATE him. OR is it HATE to LOVE him.......

HANG IN THERE, PDforMe, and come here and ask all the questions you want about Y&R!!! We have a TEAM that will get whatever answer you need!!!!! ::yes::

I think maybe Jeanne Cooper (Catherine) has been there longer than Eric Braeden (Victor) or they started around the same time. John Abbott - even though we only see him now & then as a ghost - he may be there just as long if not longer too. Nikki & Paul came shortly thereafter too, and are still played by the same actors. Oh wait Ashley too, although she had other actresses playing her over the years. Traci & Danny, Lauren, Crickett, Nina, Michael...wow there are a ton of long-timers on Y&R that are still played by the same actors. Jill's had a few different actresses over the years. Jack's been there forever, but used to be played by Terry Lester. I thought no one could replace Terry Lester as Jack, but the newer one (not so new anymore) is awesome too. For those of you just joining the thread, you can learn a lot by watching the old Y&R clips on You Tube. They are great to watch when you have some time to play around online.

I love to hate Victor too. I think it's the charcater we hate so much. He's always been powerful & ruthless, but he turned just plain evil in the last few years, which I don't lilke. When he started demeaning Nikki I lost all respect for the Mustache.

I'm hoping that Ashley hasn't really lost her baby and the Doc told Adam what he wanted to hear.....

I'm wondering how he could know she lost her baby when he only listened to her stomach with a stethoscope through her nightgown! No sonogram was done!

Ahhh thank's KAR - actually it's ok - turned out to be well not a good thing but good news.

i was told i would never be able to even get pg let alone carry so when it happened or rather i found out what had happened i wasn't sad i was actually ok because it meant that i could get pg - just needed help carrying it which is what happened and now i have Cassie.

:)

so it's all good.

but thanks for the virtual hug

OMG - I'm watching the week's reruns on Soapnet right now - just saw the part with Mary Jane in bed talking to & stroking the stuffed cat - WHACK JOB!!! That was totally bizarre! That wasn't even a stuffed animal toy - that was a dead stuffed cat!!!

I don't know which was more bizarre - this or Kevin dressed up like a squirrel! Or Sheila & her fake nursery & baby!

Dead stuffed cat wins... she is one sick puppy...or should that be kitty????

OK, that was a bit much of Phyllis to be seeing.:rotfl2:At least learn not to lean into the camera lens for the down the shirt view.
For the longest running vets....Jeanne Cooper, Eric Braden, Melody Thomas Scott and Doug Davidson were there the longest.
The original families were the Brooks/Foster(and none of them are currently part of the storylines). Except for Jill- was a Foster but Brenda Dickson was the original player so Jess Walton can't be included in the original cast members.
The Abott family came in later beginning with Jack, I believe and they sort of built the family and the business around his character.
And the Williams family was brought in around Paul somehow. Paul had a fling with a young Nikki and gave her VD.
That's about the best I can recall for the early beginnings/cast. I do remember some of the early shows with Jill's brothers and the Brooks family. I don't really recall the very first shows which centered around Mrs. Chancellor and Phillip and his accident. Just bits and pieces.
