When did the shows air with her and Nick/Billy together. That's how far along she is!
I cannot believe the direction the show is going with Adam/Ashley. Nor can I believe Eileen Davidson would have agreed to come back for this. Her character is not being written true to its' history. Yes, she had a breakdown before, but she has long since recovered and become a strong, businesswoman since then. I just FF through this now. It disgusts me. Plus, I cannot see another human being doing what Adam is doing to himself or her.
The only interesting stuff is now the Nina/Cane/Phillip story and the Jack/Phyllis/MaryJane stuff. (and the only reason I watch). I love stuff that returns to the core characters and the veterans. Guess Y&R should wise up and get rid of the dead weight and keep MTS on or many more people will be finding a reason to quit watching.

It looks like neither side could reach an agreement over her pay cut. So the writers are writting Nikki's character off! Something tells me Mary Jane will take a victim!

I am just now reading this and am shocked! I just looked it up and did not realize her real life husband is no longer behind the scenes of Y&R.

Her hubby left a few years ago. It was also all about contract negotiations. He ended up walking because his needs were not met.

According to Nick when he told Victor...she is due around the same time as Ashley (who is walking around holding a belly all of the sudden!)

interesting - which means about 4 months or so.

so while ashley is walking around with a 5 or 6 month baby bump sharron is still skinny minnie but today she feels the baby move then grabs jacks hand and low and behold he feels it too.

I mean I would even throw in the Neil/Karen/Tyra crap as well. I was angry when Lily came back from her honeymoon and saw Neil at Indigo with Tyra all cozy and told her father "I am happy for you, dad".........whatttttttttt........happy for what.........for dating Karen, falling in love with Karen, marrying Karen and sleeping with Tyra.......................that is what Lily is happy for?????? Ohhh...wait I forgot this was a SOAP but still SHEESH..........time to move on from THAT s/l and THAT family.

I am so sorry to hear that Nikki is leaving Y&R or being reduced to re-occuring status. I really have always loved all the DRAMA Nikki has brought to Y&R year after year!!!

This past week, Eileen Davidson's new book, Dial Emmy For Murder was released. Considering the terrible 2009 Emmy nominations, this book couldn't have been released at a better time. I have a feeling there will be lots of blood at this year's ceremony. Joking, people. Or am I?

• Once again, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) proves she's her own worst enemy. As we exclusively reported a few weeks ago in Nelson Ratings, Scott refused to take a pay cut, or drop to recurring status, which is what the soap was offering.

While Maria Arena Bell and Paul Rauch hoped that the former hair model would re-sign with the sudser, insiders inform The Suds Report the two parties have hit a stalemate in contract negotiations. In fact, the soap has written out the character already because the show is writing story past her contract expiration date. However, at press time, Y&R has decided not to recast the role in case Scott comes to her senses. Ironically, MTS celebrated her 30th anniversary with the No. 1 sudser this year.

A former co-star tells The Suds Report that, "Mel thought she ran that show for years because her hubby, Ed [Scott], was the producer. Well, times have changed, and actors do not run that show anymore. She's nuts if she thinks another soap can afford her. Mel is so tied to Nikki that she won't get another soap gig, especially in these tough economic times."


This isn't the first time MTS has left the series over a contract dispute. The Emmy-nominated star bolted a few years back, but predictably returned a few months later.

"I'm not sure if Mel and Ed can afford not to be working right now," says a friend close to MTS. "She really thought she was exempt from these pay cuts."

As an aside, I don't want to be the person who has to tell Eric Braeden (Victor), whose contract is up at the end of the year, he has to take a pay cut. Good luck with that, Y&R!

• Do not miss today's Y&R, soap! It's a doozy. Emmy winner Tom Casiello wrote an awesome episode that promises to change Y&R forever. This week, Ashley miscarries her baby, thanks to Adam's gaslighting. Hmmm... isn't it suspect that playing a baby killer didn't prompt Chris Engen to quit his role the week they filmed that scene?

• Correction: Thom Bierdz (Phillip) tells The Suds Report that he signed a six-month contract with the sudser, not a one-year deal, which he had previously stated to us. But the actor hopes to continue in the role as long as Y&R will have him.

besides there are lots of soap actors and non soap actors who play not so nice people - some people have no problem with it others do

don't compare adam not wanted to have a real kiss vs a fake pillow baby miscarriage

personally i couldn't care less why he left - he has his reasons and because it was a gay storyline it became public - why did ashley leave then come back and the new one became the old one when the old one came back.

why did jack leave and come back where's terry lester?

we don't know why these people leave it's not all about money.

why does tracey leave and come back?

sometimes it's over money - nikki - sometimes a personal belief - adam.

if we're talking about horrible story lines - what about all the rape storylines

I did not like the Adam/Ashley storyline Friday or today at all. It was so dark and uncomfortable to watch, I had wished I taped it so I could FF through it. I HATE it.

They are destroying this character beyond repair. What's the point in replacing him? I guess to finish things up. I hope when this story is over, Adam is gone for good!!! I'm sorry but he is not redeemable, IMHO. I know, I know, Kevin and Michael were evil but they didn't cause a miscarriage and then try to cover it up and not get her help.

I am at least happy to see that he didn't mean to cause the miscarriage and he felt a little bad while cleaning up the blood (although he blamed Victor and Jack) but it wasn't enough to help the story.

I, too, can see why the actor (Chris) wanted out.

I'm VERY sad about Melody Thomas Scott leaving. I just can't believe it.

Terry Lester (April 13, 1950 - November 28, 2003) was an American actor.

Lester was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating from high school at Southport High School, and began an acting career while at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. His acting career consisted of musical theater, concert performances, numerous primetime TV guest roles. He had a season starring in the 1976 children's series Ark II. This was followed by roles in Airport 1975 and the 1978 KISS movie Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.

Lester's big break came when he joined CBS daytime soap The Young and the Restless (Y&R) in 1980. He originated the role of Jack Abbott, a scoundrel who never met a woman (including his own father's wife) he didn't want to take to bed. Lester was so popular that Y&R creator William J. Bell wrote an entire family for him. Y&R was going through a transition period at this time and many fans believe that Lester's star quality helped the show build more viewers and eventually rise to #1 in the daytime soap ratings.

In spite of his massive popularity, by the end of the decade Lester felt his role on the show was steadily declining. In 1989 he not only quit Y&R but took the rare step of going to the daytime press and singling out Bill Bell's young daughter, Lauralee Bell (who played ingenue Christine Blair), for his dwindling storyline. He felt the excess airtime given to her came at the expense of him and other actors. Lester was replaced by one-time All My Children star Peter Bergman, who has played Jack ever since. Lester switched to NBC to take over the role of Mason Capwell on Santa Barbara for a year. In 1992, he joined As the World Turns to play the charming Royce Keller, who was soon revealed to be suffering from multiple personalities which caused him to kill his own sister. The role was very complex, causing raves for Lester, but the headwriter behind the story, Douglas Marland, died suddenly in 1993, and Lester again found his scrrentime diminishing. He left the series in 1994.

The remainder of his professional life consisted of a few shots in primetime shows such as Walker, Texas Ranger and Star Trek: Voyager along with various tours in musicals and plays. To the shock of many fans, friends, and family members, Lester died at home of multiple heart attacks in 2003.

Lester kept his personal life under wraps, but a 2003 LA Magazine article on former soap star Thom Bierdz claimed that Lester, along with Michael Corbett and Bierdz, made up a trio of gay actors who worked on Y&R in the 1980s.

I was in LOVE with Terry Lester way back then! I wanted his shower poster (him in a speedo and the poster was water proof), but for some reason my mother didn't think it was appropriate for a 13 yr old I remember him blaming Cricket when he left, and I never forgave her for it!
