*laughs already*

We were reading articals about the Industral Revolution in Europe today in my World History class. We start to read about the conditions in Britain then, he gives us a paper. The girl in front of me starts reading, and goes:

Logan - "How do you say this word: "L-a-b-o-u-r" ?"

Me - "Labor, Logan, thats the way the spell it in the UK"

Logan reads on...

Logan - "How do you say this one: "H-o-n-o-u-r-a-b-l-e"?"

I sigh. "Honorable, Logan, the UK spelling".

Logan - "Mr. Duton! You have lots of misspelled words!"

The Teacher - "Logan, it is a UK site, theirfor, its spelled with English-English"

Logan -"Oh!"

We read on...

Logan - "Mr. Duton...whats this mean?"

Me - "Let me look Logan...[Insert sigh]...Logan, what you see, is the pound symble. Read it 5 pounds...no...just read it as $7"

Logan - "Why don't they use lb. after it?"

I didn't bother with shillings and such when they came in...

She is my friend, but pleeeaaassseee!

LOL!!!! Thank goodness for the World History class or she'd still be none the wiser :teeth: !!

How embarrassing! A product of the American public school system.

Yep - we have some funny old spellings over here:D

But then at school I was taught to say ZEE (Z), rather then ZED, which Brits find very strange:rolleyes: :D
