"You want to ride Dinosaur again?" - New 10/21 - The End!

very cool dining experience...we just may have to try that sometime! we've only didned once at a Japanese style restaurant pre-kids...but this sounds Yum and Fun!

What happened to Smurfette's eyes! :lmao:

Hi Julie!! Yes - you should definitely add Teppan Edo to your list for the future!!

Smurfette! :rotfl:

I'm uploading pictures to photobucket as we speak - my next update is already typed up ready to go!! I guarantee an update today!! Life has gotten in the way... as usual! I thought things would get mellower once summer school started... nope!! I'm so far behind on everyone else's reports too!! :scared1:

We had just had an amazing lunch at Teppan Edo followed by dessert for the boys (and Karen) at Kaki Gori. Next up was the American Adventure. But, as Kathy guessed, Zach & I decided to skip the AA and find a spot to pick up a Kim Possible Kimmunicator. Zach & I found one just after Italy I believe?? Some pictures from our walk:

The mission sent us… back to Japan! It was really fun. Zachary enjoyed it a lot and wanted to do another mission when he was done. Here are a few pictures from our mission. (Skip ahead if you don’t want to spoil the surprise.)

When we were done Zach wanted to do another mission, but Alex was getting antsy and wanted to ride Test Track. Zach was a little disappointed, but he chose TT over another KP mission. While we were doing the mission, Tim called to say he had found a president’s fandex that included Barack Obama and wondered if he should get it for Alex. Alex had gotten one for his birthday but Barack hadn’t been elected yet so it only included the Presidents up to George W. Bush. I thought it would be a good investment, so he picked one up. Well Alex didn’t put that thing down for the rest of the trip and still carried it everywhere several weeks later. He now knows all for the presidents, what number president they were, their wives, their VPs and many other presidential facts. I wish I had a memory that worked half as well as his!!

Alex with his new fandex (this also gives you an idea of the stroller size… Alex was just over 48 inches tall and about 50 pounds at the time):

We wanted to stop in Norway for a boat ride. On the way there we ran into this:

IMG_3432.jpg

The bridge was up so they could bring in the barge for IllumiNations.

It was really hot & Zach was getting antsy:

IMG_3435.jpg

When we arrived in Norway, Alex was really upset about something, talked back too much, and had to sit out the ride. Tim took Alex to sit on a bench while the rest of us rode Maelstrom. The ride was really cute. Here are a couple pictures I took before & after the ride.

Funny side note… when I was trying to take this picture Zachary kept sitting on the ground. I was feeling rushed because other people were waiting for the troll so I didn’t realize this until after, but Zach was trying to bite the troll’s toenails!!!!!!! I wish I had realized and gotten picture of that!! (I think I’ve talked about it here, but one of Zach’s issues is biting fingernails. It’s a combination of an anxiety issue and a sensory issue. He even tries to bite mine! He looks at mine and oooooos and aaaahhhhs at them! He bites his toe nails too.) It would have made a very funny picture.

When we came out of the Norway pavilion Alex appeared to be at peace with the world:

IMG_3442.jpg

IMG_3443.jpg

However, was still very upset and he headbutted me right into my hip bone!!!!!!!!!! Ouch!!!! I lost it – I started dragging him out of the park – well, actually pushing him out of the park since we had two strollers that day. We blew by Mexico (which I had wanted to visit) but stopped me before we passed into Future World. We took a breather and had a lengthy discussion with Alex about his behavior and what to do next.

Would we make it to our dinner ADR at Le Cellier?? :confused3Would we leave the park? :confused3 Would we get to visit this place? :confused3

Up next: Should we stay or should we go?

Hi Amy! Great update. I laughed out loud at Zachary trying to bite the Troll's toenails! You're right, that would have made an awesome picture!

Wow, to Alex for knowing all of those presidential facts. ITA-I want his memory too!

I think the picture is from TT? I didn't get to ride it myself, but it looks like it would fit. Can't wait to hear what happens with the ressie.

understand the crazies.....

glad you got a kick out of my Smurfette joke ;)

that is too funny....I remember the picture of him on the beach doing it too. :rotfl:

Ouch is right....I would have reacted the same way Amy....no guilty feelings here...glad you could stop and try and all calm down. Hope the rest of the day was not too spoiled:guilty:

Been there, sister!! :sad2:

Sometimes they just need to zig when everyone else is zagging...

Glad Alex liked his new fandex (maybe I'll pick one up for Billy) and that Zach got the opportunity to do his own KP mission!

Kathy

I would have done the KP mission over the America Adventure too.

Biting the toenails of the troll....that's a new one, even for the DIS. :rotfl2:

Okay I skipped over all of the KP stuff because I want to be surprised by what happens (though with reading all these TRs I might find out before September whether I want to or not).

:lmao: about Zachary biting the Troll's toenails (my DS7 is a nailbiter too and he has anxiety issues...though nothing that is diagnosed...yet).

I'm glad you were able to stop and talk to Alex. I hope you made it to Le Cellier.

I'm guessing TT on the picture too!

Weren't you so impressed by all the little details and clues on the KP mission?

I have never seen the bridge up! Too cool!

:lmao: about Zach wanting to bite the troll's toenails!

I would have lost it, too, when Alex bumped my hip bone -- that hurts!!!

Great update!

Hey Amy! Sorry I haven't been on much lately. We just moved last weekend and things have been crazy around here as you can imagine. So I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I am still following along and enjoying your TR very much! :goodvibes

Yes... Test Track it is!! But did we all go, or just some of us?? :confused3

The troll toenail incident is one of my funniest memories from the trip.

Alex's presidential facts will come in handy when he gets into 4th grade in another year. ;)

understand the crazies.....

glad you got a kick out of my Smurfette joke ;)

Ok I guess it is at TT....but what are you doing :rolleyes1

The draw bridge was really cool... we missed so many things in the WS because they weren't scheduled on the days we were there so it was nice to see something cool that wasn't scheduled. I'd seen pictures of it before here on the DIS but never expected to run into it myself.

A break was just what I needed at that point... more coming up soon.

Been there, sister!! :sad2:

I'm sure Billy would LOVE a president's fandex!!

And yes - sometimes they do just need to zig when everyone else is zagging! Well said!

I would have done the KP mission over the America Adventure too.

I wish we could have done some more KP missions - it was really fun.

I've seen some posts about feet/toes here on the DIS (more than I would have liked) but never anyone trying to bite the trolls toenails! :rotfl:

I think you'll really enjoy the KP adventures!! I hope you don't learn too much about them before you get to try it out yourself. :goodvibes

Glad you got a kick out of the toenails!

Next Epcot update coming up! :thumbsup2

The KP details were great! I love how interactive it was. :thumbsup2

The hip... ouch! It did hurt... fortunately there weren't too many of those incidents this trip. :)

Hey Amy! Sorry I haven't been on much lately. We just moved last weekend and things have been crazy around here as you can imagine. So I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I am still following along and enjoying your TR very much! :goodvibes

I'm glad you stopped by to say hello!! Hope your move went smoothly & you get settled in. Did you move far??

Are you doing a PTR or TR for your next trip?? Let me know, cuz I'll be there.

As cjackearl guessed, our next mission was Test Track!! Or so we had hoped… after Alex’s headbutting incident and my reaction of dragging him through Mexico we paused for a moment. We decided to take a breather and give Alex a good talkin’ to. Tim played good cop to my bad cop and made it clear that even the tiniest infraction would send him back to CBR.

After calming down we decided to head to Test Track. Unfortunately TT was closed! We decided to head toward the Land pavilion for a ride on Soarin’ but first Jeff treated everyone to some frozen lemonades along the way. I remember getting a brain freeze!! We made it into the Land and took a little break to finish our lemonades. We got in line for Soarin’ and waited for our ride. When we finally made it to the boarding area, Alex had a potty emergency!!!! We ran all the way out of the ride, went to the bathroom and fortunately, they let us catch back up to our party. Apparently Zachary had had a meltdown when Alex & I left because we were just about to get lined up on our numbers and he thought we weren’t going to get to ride. But once we made it back we were able to get right on and enjoy our ride. This was Karen’s first time and she loved it just like the rest of us.

After Soarin’ TT was open so we made our way back there. We had just enough time to take a spin before our 5:15 ADR at Le Cellier. Karen sat this one out due to her motion sickness and old neck injury.

I don’t know if I told you this already or not, but Karen is from Canada. She has lived in the US for over 15 years and has a green card, but she still has the accent. She enjoyed eating dinner in Canada & wore her Canada socks with red maple leaves for the occasion. The meal was awesome – but a bit much after Teppan Edo, only 5 hours earlier. I would have changed the Le Cellier ADR if that had been possible, but as you can guess, it wasn’t. And there was no way Tim was going to miss out again. We had a nice chat with our CM about her job. Apparently she is Canadian and Disney brought her there for a one year contract. I guess that’s how they get many of the international CMs who are there. She was coming to the end of her contract and would be returning to Canada in late spring.

After Le Cellier we went to SSE and stopped at Gateway Gifts (near the stroller rental area) and purchased lollipops for Alex’s class. Then it was time to part ways with Jeff & Karen. They were originally supposed to leave the next morning, but they decided to stay and join us for the day and leave in the afternoon instead. Plus they had only used 2 of the 3 days on their tickets. Since they were sticking around another day, they were going to stay and enjoy Epcot for the evening while we headed to:

My most favourite Disney ride!

We don't have an accent :confused3 Oh, and I'm looking at the grounds of Canada right now - need to mow the lawn

Um ... Spectro? :rotfl:

Glad that Alex was able to cool down, and you were able to enjoy a ride on Soarin' (after the potty emergency was averted!) -- the grounds of the Canadian pavilion are just gorgeous -- love all those pink and red flowers! :lovestruc

That's too funny that Karen wore her maple leaf socks for the occasion -- sounds like something I would do.

You must be headed to Spectro! :rotfl:

Totally enjoying your trip report. Took me two days to read it all and now I'm looking forward to more. By the way, my dad works "part-time" in Nashua, NH. We've been out to visit several times and just love it.

gald to hear everyone was able to chill and relax...and you finished up your Epcot day w/ everyone!

2 TS meals in 1 day does sound like alot...but good food I'm sure. One of my very good friends is orginally from Canada too.

Hope Spectro is fab! :thumbsup2

I love your pics of Canada! They really show just how beautiful it looks during the Flower Festival!

Sounds like a talking to and some refreshing lemonade worked some magic.

Um, I can't let my son see any of these TT pictures. He wasn't tall enough to ride and we waited for our group in the show room area, but I told him we weren't allowed to go inside the cars!:rotfl: Now that I've seen pictures from several TRs with kids in those cars I realize I was mistaken. Its happened once or twice.

Le Celier is oh so yummy! And I agree, I think the mystery photo is Spectromagic!

So sorry you had to deal with the meltdowns , it looks like you handled it well though. I am hoping to have Christian do a Kim Possible mission too, it looked like fun.

I love this picture:

That is a great angle.
