"You want to ride Dinosaur again?" - New 10/21 - The End!

IMG_3457.jpg

Awww! That's sweet!!

Glad you were able to get Alex to cool down. (I'm usually "good" cop and Ed is "bad" cop!!) So I know what you mean!! :rotfl:

I also loved seeing the boys hanging onto Uncle Jeff on TT... all three "boys" looked like they were loving it!

Wow! After all you've done I can't believe you had enough energy left over for Spectro!!

Kathy

IMHO-Test Track and Soarin are the best rides in Epcot and pretty high up in the whole of WDW...:cool1:

Your little guys look like they are having an awesome time...headbutting looks like its way in the past...

(David gets really anxious when we have to split up too (like for the bathroom, etc...-he gets all panicky...:confused3)

I'm so glad you were able to work through the moods and meltdowns and not miss out on Le Cellier again. Love that Karen wore the socks!

But oh, I can't imagine 2 TS in one day that close together, it would be ROLL me out the door, stick a fork in me, I'm done!

Very cute TT pic!!!!!

I'm glad you stopped by to say hello!! Hope your move went smoothly & you get settled in. Did you move far??

Are you doing a PTR or TR for your next trip?? Let me know, cuz I'll be there.

Thanks Amy! No, we didn't move far. Only about 6-7 miles actually. I sure am glad the move is over and we are getting settled and the kids will be able to enjoy the rest of their summer!

I doubt I'll do a PTR, but I may do a TR when we get back. It is up in the air right now as to if we will go in November or January. Originally we were going to go in January again. But then I got a PIN for free dining for dates in Oct, Nov, and Dec. We have always wanted to try November, so I started planning. Now DH is unsure if he will be able to get the time off from work. So we may be back to January. :upsidedow Which is fine, but I just want to know for sure either way!!

Love your last installment. Test Track, Soarin, and LeCellier - 3 of my most favorite things in WDW! :lovestruc

My most favourite Disney ride!

Woohooo, great pictures! :woohoo:

We don't have an accent :confused3 Oh, and I'm looking at the grounds of Canada right now - need to mow the lawn

Um ... Spectro? :rotfl:

"Grounds of Canada" :rotfl: cute! :goodvibes

How'd you ever guess we were heading to see Spectro?? :confused3

Glad that Alex was able to cool down, and you were able to enjoy a ride on Soarin' (after the potty emergency was averted!) -- the grounds of the Canadian pavilion are just gorgeous -- love all those pink and red flowers! :lovestruc

That's too funny that Karen wore her maple leaf socks for the occasion -- sounds like something I would do.

You must be headed to Spectro! :rotfl:

The Canada pavillion really is gorgeous!! All of Epcot is so beautiful during the F&G Festival. :flower3:

Karen's socks were so funny... she was so into it.

Totally enjoying your trip report. Took me two days to read it all and now I'm looking forward to more. By the way, my dad works "part-time" in Nashua, NH. We've been out to visit several times and just love it.

:welcome: Thanks for reading! I never liked living in NH as a kid and couldn't wait to get out of here. Tim & I moved to CT (where he's from) for a couple years after college and I hated it. Couldn't wait to move back "home" and couldn't be happier living here now. :thumbsup2

gald to hear everyone was able to chill and relax...and you finished up your Epcot day w/ everyone!

2 TS meals in 1 day does sound like alot...but good food I'm sure. One of my very good friends is orginally from Canada too.

Hope Spectro is fab! :thumbsup2

Two TS meals 5 hours apart is WAY too much food for me!! Especially since I had filet mignon both time. :crazy2: I had originally scheduled Le Cellier for that day but then I wasn't sure if Jeff & Karen would still be at Disney by dinner so I added Teppan Edo. Since I couldn't reschedule Le Cellier I decided to keep it. :confused3

Spectro is coming up next!

I love your pics of Canada! They really show just how beautiful it looks during the Flower Festival!

Gorgeous!! :hippie:

Sounds like a talking to and some refreshing lemonade worked some magic.

Um, I can't let my son see any of these TT pictures. He wasn't tall enough to ride and we waited for our group in the show room area, but I told him we weren't allowed to go inside the cars!:rotfl: Now that I've seen pictures from several TRs with kids in those cars I realize I was mistaken. Its happened once or twice.

Le Celier is oh so yummy! And I agree, I think the mystery photo is Spectromagic!

I think it was magic lemonade... ;)

I wasn't too excited to let the kids climb in the cars... I was afraid they were going to break the blinker controls off or something?? :rotfl:

I bet you're right about the mystery photo! :rotfl2:

So sorry you had to deal with the meltdowns , it looks like you handled it well though. I am hoping to have Christian do a Kim Possible mission too, it looked like fun.

I love this picture:

IMG_3470.jpg

That is a great angle.

Definitely do a KP mission!! But plan to zig zag all over the place if you do more than one. I would recommend doing it early so you can go back and visit what you missed later.

Thanks - I really like that picture too. The F&G Festival on a sunny day makes it easy to take good pictures. :thumbsup2

I'm usually good cop to Tim's bad cop. Fortunately he was able to put on the good cop hat temporarily. Two bad cops wouldn't be good. ;)

The boys adore Uncle Jeff - and he eats it up since his little boy is 17.

I was determined to see Spectro during this trip - we missed it on our planned night when J&K didn't show up. :headache: But was that a good idea or a bad idea?? :confused3

TT & Soarin' are definitely the best rides at Epcot. Somehow we always manage to find TT closed - especially when we're with Jeff. :confused3

Luckily the headbutting incident ended once we got the lemonades and took a ride on Soarin'.

I'm so glad you were able to work through the moods and meltdowns and not miss out on Le Cellier again. Love that Karen wore the socks!

I'm surprised someone didn't have to roll one of us out the door. We were all stuffed. We were DONE! :scared:

Thanks Amy! No, we didn't move far. Only about 6-7 miles actually. I sure am glad the move is over and we are getting settled and the kids will be able to enjoy the rest of their summer!

Glad your move was a success and the kids don't have to adjust two new friends and everything.

I'll be there for your TR - let me know when you start it. I hope you guys figure out your trip dates soon. :goodvibes

We had finished eating our 2nd TS meal of the day, rolled ourselves out of Canada and ridden SSE. It was time to part ways with Jeff & Karen because as you guessed, we were off to see SpectroMagic! I had planned to see it Thursday night after WCC with everyone. As you may recall, that was the day Jeff & Karen didn’t show up until after dinner and we found out that J&K couldn’t come due to the broken cell phone?? Obviously we weren’t in a position to see Spectro that night… we did end up watching IllumiNations from our beach at CBR but I still NEEDED to see Spectro so the new plan was to head to the MK after dinner.

We boarded the monorail and took a ride to the TTC. Alex found a lovely young lady and chatted her up about the presidents. I was impressed by how many he had already memorized in the few hours since he got his new fandex. It turned out the young lady was from Canada too – so she didn’t know too much about the American presidents. Alex taught her a few things.

We switched monorails and arrived at MK, we grabbed our strollers and made a bee line for Liberty Square. With a brief pause to take this picture of the castle at night:

IMG_3480.jpg

It was already 8:15 and we knew it would be hard to find a spot at that hour for the 9pm SpectroMagic parade. We found a spot on the corner right by a popcorn cart. Now that we’ve seen the parade I wouldn’t have chosen that spot again because we couldn’t really see the parade as it headed toward us until it was rounding the corner. But we didn’t have anyone in front of us so it worked out well. Once we claimed our spot, I went for snacks. Because of my cautious use of snack credits most of the week, we still had 19 credits left with only one day to go. First I got in the popcorn line. Zachary needed his popcorn fix! I got popcorn and 3 drinks – 5 credits! Then I headed over to find ice cream. I got in a line that seemed to take forever!! And there was a guy behind me who was coughing… in the midst of the swine flu scare! I finally made it back to the family and was happy to see they had broken out the glow sticks and were sharing them with some other kids. The boys enjoyed their ice cream, but Zachary had cotton candy on his mind too! That would have to wait – the music had started and the parade was on it’s way!! (I still haven't mastered taking night pictures...)

The street vendor’s all marched up the street together to clear the way for the parade:

The parade was awesome!! I really enjoyed it – what a unique parade!! So Disney!

Our original plan had been to take off right after the parade to avoid the Wishes crowds leaving later on, but...

A perfect end to a perfect evening!

Hurray for getting a reasonably good spot in Liberty Square for Spectro! :goodvibes

We ended up with a ton of snack credits towards the end of the trip as well -- I will be curious to hear how you spent the remaining ones. :thumbsup2

Our Spectro spot was good - just now my first choice. But considering we got there kind of late, I think we made out well! :thumbsup2

I started out the week using snack credits, then I started conserving them to use on "snack-credit-worthy" snacks... My suggestion to anyone using a dining plan is to just use up those snack credits as you need them. We did end up using them all up though... you'll have to wait to see how. ;)

Ok Mystery Photo...you stayed to watch Wishes but you like you are in Frontierland :confused3

Amy was this your first time seeing Spectro?

Wow! I love that parade my ultimate favorite...I remember (I think I was 12 or 13) we were on a family trip to So Cal to visit my Mom's brother who was stationed in Long Beach (Navy) and we did all the So Cal tourist things including my one and only visit to Disneyland...but as we were leaving the then version of "Spectro" there was going thru and we didn't stay to watch but I remember those vivid lights to this day!

and now no WDW trip is complete w/out it :goodvibes

My theory of the snack credit is that ALL snacks ARE Worthy of the SC on the DDP....

On our first trip w/ the kids back in 05 I'm not even sure if the DDP existed, but we paid for all food OOP...and normally I would never get an extra bottle of water or a popcorn or even ice cream....so many little mouths...so little money in the wallet ;)

so now that we have used the DDP twice, 1 reg and 1 QS plan...each snack to me is a special treat that otherwisw we wouldn't be buying

I feel the money we save on the actual meals and the ease of not having to guess budget your meals before and on your trip makes the DDP so appealing, plus all those special yummy snacks (treats)

We have had a few leftover credits in the end too...and usually always buy some pre-packaged snacks for the airport :thumbsup2

Ok sorry for the tanget!

looking forward to seeing how you close out your MK night!

J-

I'm so glad you guys got to see Spectro! I officially want to be the dragonfly.:cloud9: Ooh, can't wait to hear how you used up your snack credits and whether you stayed to watch Wishes or rode some rides while everyone else watched Wishes.popcorn::

Yes - this was my first time seeing Spectro. We've always tried to keep the kids on their normal schedules during our visits in the past, and didn't think Alex could sit through a parade. We have now learned that they do really well at night and I'm sure we'll be enjoying more evening entertainment on trips to come. :thumbsup2

Yes - we stayed for Wishes. And yes - we are somewhere in Frontierland... but where?? :confused3

I agree with your theory about the snack credits. I guess I was reluctant to use them for things like drinks and tried to save them for "special" snacks?? I suspect we'll be staying off-property next time :sad2: so the dining plan won't even be an option... unless Disney offers another crazy deal next year. :rolleyes1

I'm so glad you guys got to see Spectro! I officially want to be the dragonfly.:cloud9: Ooh, can't wait to hear how you used up your snack credits and whether you stayed to watch Wishes or rode some rides while everyone else watched Wishes.popcorn::

Don't you love those dragonflies! I thought they were so cool!

You are getting warmer on the mystery picture... we did both!! But where do you think I took that picture from? :thumbsup2

You are riding Big Thunder Mountain while Wishes is going on?

Great installment, SpectroMagic is Bill's favorite parade. For Christmas last year he got me the Wishes, Illuminations, and SpectroMagic CD's, I love them. I have the SpectroMagic song on my phone and use it for my alarm sound. It is wonderful waking up to that music.

great update!

wishes from BTMRR? Nearby there at any rate lol!

Great spectro pics.

I was the snack credit police and first and then it became a free for all. While we used those up easily, we ended up with 11 CS credits left!

Ok, I guess that you took that picture from BTMRR!

Yup! :thumbsup2 Isn't that so cool??

11 CS credits! :scared1: Did you use them for snacks at the end? I guess I'm giving away how we used up some of our snack credits, but... when I was at the CBR food court using up our credits, the CM asked me if I had any CS credits left that I wanted to use for snack credits. I guess you can get multiple snacks (3??) for each CS credit you have left.

Our original plan had been to take off right after the parade to avoid the Wishes crowds leaving later on, but I convinced Tim that we should take a ride on BTMRR in the dark!! Everyone says it’s so fun that I just had to try it. The kids had mellowed out so he agreed. (We have found that when most kids start getting tired & cranky, our kids just get tired & mellow.) We had a fantastic ride on BTMRR – along with the other guests who had rushed over to squeeze in a ride before Wishes. After the ride, Alex wanted to ride Splash Mountain & Tim agreed to go with him so Zach & I rode BTMRR a second time. This time we saw this:

These are pictures I took during our ride! What a great memory from the trip!! (Good guess cjackearl!)

We headed for the candy shop in search of Cotton Candy while we waited for Tim & Alex. They eventually caught up with us. We got a bunch of stuff… cotton candy, salt water taffy, rock candy and an apron for my mom – most of which didn’t count as snack credits. We took our time wandering out of the park knowing we would be in for a long wait at the bus stop. I snapped this picture on the way out:

IMG_3609.jpg

And we were right… this was definitely our longest wait. It took 8-10 buses to get rid of the huge line in front of us. I think everyone at MK was staying at CBR. ;)

The boys were soooo good that night!! Zach fell asleep at 11:15 on the bus. Alex was in bed and asleep by 11:30. Tim & I were asleep by midnight. We had an early morning ahead of us!! But it would be our last day, so we could handle it!!

For those keeping track, here’s where we stand on dining credits at the end of day 6:
4 TS left (started with 12 – used 8 – lunch & dinner)
8 CS left (started with 8 - used 0)
12 Snacks left (started with 20 – used 8)

Where were we going?

Love the photographs of Wished from Big Thunder Mountain...

I hadn't planned to do Spectro-we are doing a Pirates & Pals Wishes Cruise (As beautiful as the nightime parades are-I get a little wiggy with the crowds and the rush to leave-sensory overload for me- but seeing your photos makes me think that we should do it one night...

I love your nighttime pics! What a wonderful way to end your day!!

Based on the mystery pic,I'm thinking you're going to AK for day 7?
