me me me! Teppan Edo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

What a bummer about your date dinner, methinks I'd have been cranky running on only a pretzel, but how lovely to go out just the two of you and your PP picture is fabulous!

Yay!! Great job - Teppan Edo it is!! :thumbsup2 I can't wait to tell you all about it!! We had a blast!

I feel like this is the second time we have wasted our night out. In 2007 we went to dinner at the Yacht Club & wandered around the Boardwalk after not knowing how close we were to Epcot. :headache: We didn't set foot in the WS that year at all! And we were there during the F&W Festival! Oops!!

This year I hadn't anticipated a night out until about an hour or two before... I got flustered, didnt know where to go. Plus we didn't leave until after 8pm. If I'd had the opportunity to plan better, I would have made an ADR. If I'd had it to do over, we probably would have gone to DTD. I guess I was feeling drawn toward Epcot because I felt like we'd missed out on the previous trip. :confused3 Next time I will have a back up plan ready to go! :thumbsup2 I'll be sure to research CS places for a improptu date night.

I love The Wizard of Oz :cloud9: - haven't seen it in forever though.

you should try and YouTube one of your favorites scenes and sing/talk along ;)

I'm still waiting for him to snap out of it and tell me I'm crazy! He knows it's my way of being able to get back to Disney. ;)

 understnad getting the DH back on the Disney train....I'm just so :woohoo: that even though we are not actually talking...:rolleyes1 we have 2 trips in the works! The girls trip in Nov 010 and then our anni trip in May 0f 011

I am a lucky girl! :goodvibes

though it will be way more fun when we can actually start the real planning!

:yay: I was right on the location....that pool looks very cool indeed, did you all have a fun time?

and how sweet to get an impromtu date out! sorry it wasn't the one of your Disney dreams...but still some time alone very fun!

Why didn't you use a snack credit for the pretzel :confused3

Love the photopass picture of the two of you, you look so pretty in that red top!

So what park is next? MK???

We loved the pool at CBR - especially the slides!

I got all mixed up on the snack credits - I'd go through phases of using them up, then I'd stop using them?? Is it possible that the pretzel cart at the Boardwalk didn't accept snack credits?? I'm not really sure! :confused3:confused3

MK?? :confused3 Nope... We're off to Epcot for our lunch at Teppan Edo of course!

Oh, how well I recognize Teppan Edo!!! :lovestruc

The CBR pool looks fantastic! I bet the boys loved playing there!

Yippee for a night out alone! What bliss that must have been!!! :cloud9:

Awww that is such a bummer! One thing I did learn on this trip was to go ahead and call Disney Dining. We almost changed ressies twice on the trip due to our fireworks fiasco's and there was stuff. It never hurts to call. For a date, I want to sit down lol!

We LOVED teppan, can't wait to read about your experience there!

How nice to have a night out to yourselves! I'm sure you enjoyed it, even if you didn't have good plans.

The CBR pool looks very cool!

Can't WAIT to hear about Teppan Edo. We have an ADR there (for 15 of us, for my brother's birthday!) and I've never been. IS it a Hibatchi place? We can't seem to get a firm answer on that. I sure hope so, or we might have to change our ADR. And I REALLY want to eat there.

Looking forward to your next installment...how was Alex's first day at camp?

I have the Disney Dining phone number in my cel phone....they can really help you get an ADR at the last minute while you are there.

Okay!! All caught up again now!!
Pool there at CBR looks awesome!!! This was just redone, right? Looks nice! With walk-in -- what a great feature.

I recognize the monorail plates (had these ate Tokyo Dining, too!) but I know it was the Teppan Edo!

And I think your camping trip looks great!! we are big comfort-seeking car campers, too.. :rotfl:

Wow Heidi and I really do think alike, I have the dining # in my phone too :lmao:. Another tip, go to the guest services desk at the park you are in and they can see what ADR's are available for you. I love the pic of you two at Epcot at night, it is so pretty! It looks like you had a great trip.

I can't wait to see how Teppan Edo went, we are planning on going there this trip with the kids!

The photopass picture of you and your husband is great.:) Sorry about the lack of dining mojo, but you had some great shopping mojo! I got two of the same green bags, now I wish I'd have gotten more.

The monorail dish at Teppan Edo is adorable. Looking forward to hearing about your meal.

Oh yay...

Duh....I did read that. Ok so looking forward to Epcot and hearing about the monorail dishes...that looks fun!

Way fun!! :thumbsup2

The pool at CBR was awesome!! I think the kids will really miss the themed pool if we stay off property next time. :headache:

The night out was good, even though it was a bit chaotic. And I forgot to mention that we got a call from Karen at one point which took us several tries to actually have a conversation with her because of bad cell coverage. I guess Alex wouldn't go to sleep - which was making me even antsier to get back - waiting 45 minutes to eat just wasn't going to cut it at that point.

How nice to have a night out to yourselves! I'm sure you enjoyed it, even if you didn't have good plans.

Teppan Edo will be coming right up... it was a ton of fun!! I have pictures of the chef cooking so stay tuned and I think I'll be able to answer some of your questions.

Thanks Ladies!! I'll definitely program Disney Dining into my phone next trip!

Yes - the CBR pool was recently updated! Zach loved the walk in feature & Alex loved the slides - one open slide & one closed, very dark slide.

We're going to take another little camping trip this weekend - just one night again but hopefully we will stay dry this time. :goodvibes

Teppan Edo seems like it would be more fun with a big group - that's why I chose it this time. I think you'll be happy with the decision!

The photopass picture of you and your husband is great.:) Sorry about the lack of dining mojo, but you had some great shopping mojo! I got two of the same green bags, now I wish I'd have gotten more.

I suppose if we had gotten an ADR we wouldn't have done our shopping... I guess you can't have it all. I was happy with my pretzel. I wish I had gotten more of those shopping bags too. I love the one I have. :thumbsup2

Oooh! That's right... I forgot you could do that! Thanks, I'll tuck that away for future reference!

Amy, for a totally unplanned surprise night out, I think you did fine. After all, the main thing was to just get a little time to yourselves without the kids.

I laughed when you told us that Tim asked why you weren't staying at the Beach Club!! :lmao: Men!

Was scanning the trip reports and saw you had one.:banana:Have to go to bed but will be back tomorrow to start catching up.:thumbsup2

Lisalonglash guessed the what... swimming!
Mousescrapper guessed the where... CBR pool!

Yahooty! And I'm in great company too :goodvibes

After spending the day at DHS we were heading back to CBR. However, I forgot to mention in my last installment that we stopped at one of the shops and each of the kids picked out a snow globe. This will be important later on… Our plan for the afternoon had been to rent Sea Raysers for J&K today but since they weren’t with us we spent about an hour swimming at the pool before dinner.

I wonder what the significance of the snow globes will be... :confused3

Fantastic pool pictures - what a neat pool area!

Jeff & Karen offered to watch the boys so Tim & I could go out for a while. So after swimming we grabbed a couple kids’ meals at OPR and fed the kids in the room while we got ready. This is probably a no-no, but we gave Jeff Tim’s KTTW card so he could pick up dinner for him and Karen using our CS dining credits. We were hopefully going to eat at a TS place for dinner so we didn’t need them and it was a nice way to thank them for staying in with the kids. It all worked out fine but they didn’t show up at the room until almost 8pm. I was getting very antsy, knowing we weren’t going to eat until very late without an ADR somewhere. We weren’t even sure where we were going at that point. Epcot had EMH that night or we could go to DTD or the Boardwalk. We decided to jump on the Epcot bus and walk to the Boardwalk.

I'm glad you were able to get out alone, thanks to J & K :thumbsup2

Gorgeous picture!

Great shopping - LOVE the "mine, mine, mine" stuff - made me giggle!

Notice the black marks near the rim… that's what is left of the words. I’m a little disappointed with how it’s held up in the dishwasher. It’s only 2 months old and he doesn’t even use it every day.

That's some bad quality :sad2:

Up Next: Can anyone guess where we have a lunch ADR?
IMG_3400.jpg

I'm sure everyone has already guessed, but I recognize that! It's Teppan Edo and their bullet train "plate" for the kids meals!

I'm finally caught up! I am falling seriously behind on all my DIS friend's TR's.

Sounds like you had a great DHS day! How fun that you and Tim got to ride TSM together!

As far as the driving goes? My DH could never handle a ride that long. The kids would be ok I think, but Jeff would never make it! Plus...like another poster said..with only a limited amount of vacation time, I'd hate to "waste" it in the car. Someday I'd like to do a road trip vacation and stop along the way to see all the cool sights...but that would be the vacation plan, not Disney. If it works for you and your family, I say go for it! That's a significant savings!

How nice that you got a night out with the hubby! Too bad you weren't able to take better advantage of it. Oh well..even strolling through the parks hand in hand with no little boys was well worth it, I'm sure! :thumbsup2

The CBR pool looks FANTASTIC!

Looking forward to more...I'm out of town for 10 days starting on Saturday..I'll have to catch up again! :headache: :rotfl:
