Tron : Ares

Oh my goodness that looks like an epic movie. Those Light Cycles are quite a sight to behold!

If you have any buds that are not Disney fans... perhaps this might be THE Disney movie you want to see together. I will definitely schedule in watching that movie on the weekend before 10/31!

I'm in simply for the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack. Will be interesting how it compares to the awesome Daft Punk soundtrack of the last movie.

It looks good, but I don't like how it doesn't seem to be acknowledging Legacy at all. I want to know how they connect, even if they are not going to focus on the characters.

I saw the trailer for Tron: Ares on Youtube this morning and what I think Disney will do with this movie is introduce new characters to the Tron movies and I think Disney has it right on target because fans who liked Tron will like Tron: Ares and like Tron had Journey perform on the soundtrack and Daft Punk for the second Tron movie this movie will launch Nine Inch Nails into a Tron: Ares sponsored tour because having Nine Inch Nails on the soundtrack will be a wise move to get Disney box-office success

I love Tron. I enjoyed Tron Legacy. I will be attending Tron Ares opening night...I don't think this movie will be successful at the box office, unfortunately.

Yeah, TRON just can never seem to find a real audience. I think it'll probably do about as well as Legacy, which to say not a total flop, but not a rousing success either.

That, despite long queues in the Magic Kingdom…

Well, a new ride is pretty much always going to have a long line, especailly a coaster. It could be themed after The Black Hole and would still command a line. That doesn't translate to ticket sales for the movie, though it can help raise awareness of the franchise a little. The majority of movie-goers don't ever go to Disney World.

Back in the 80s, they had something in Epcot, I think it was the post ride portion of Journey Into Imagination where you could go to an area with a green screen and do the segment of the Black Hole where the giant flaming meteor is coming towards the screen. My brother and I were annoying kids who slow walked across the screen and even sat down as the fireball was headed towards us.

Put me down in the camp of not understanding why another Tron is coming out. I guess 3rd time is the charm for it be a big hit. I just see nothing out of the trailer outside of the Nine Inch Nails soundtrack that's going to really resonate with audiences. I'd imagine it will do about 200M worldwide.

I don't remember that, but I do love The Black Hole!

Previous TRON movies haven't been total flops, just not big, smash hits either. Legacy did okay. For some reason, TRON has always been pretty recognizeable, a brand that was on the periphery, but not quite striking that chord. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

Yep, I’ve already told people I could go sit in a well balanced theater with a state of the art sound system and close my eyes while experiencing Ares. I don’t need what’s on the screen, just the Reznor/NiN soundtrack.
