EEYORE1226- definitely check tonight. But ask for the All Star rate and see what happens.
Here's what happened to me!
Yesterday I got a bee in my bonnet about getting out of town for my daughter's winter break, although I'm not exactly rolling in cash so this would be a budget trip. Four nights. It might be me, my husband, and dd, or just me and dd-- or no one if I come to my senses! Anyway, yesterday I called CRO to price resorts--- since this is a last minute budget trip, just checking All Stars. Rack rates, $109. Ap rate is available at $79, but I calculated the difference between AP rates and 4 day hopper and I didn't come out ahead buying the AP. Anyway, still haven't decided (or talked to my husband. ) Posted here last night. Two of you were nice enough to pm the expired code rate. I called CRO this morning and got the nicest, coolest, Disney-ist agent there is. I start out by asking her the All Star rate (I mention a code, but I don't think she hears me.) She tap-taps into her computer, and says "oh look! They're offering you a special upgrade! Regular rate for All Stars is $109 standard, $119 preferred. For $119 they are offering you POR, POFQ, and CBR."
"Wow." I say. Then I ask her to check those code rates and yup, they have expired, can't book with them. So, I say.... "Book POFQ please!" I want to lock in the rate, and since it is less than 30 days out, I have to put one nights right away.
She takes all my info and everything is a blur. She is a great great cm-- reminding me about the new princess meals, reminding me to get my tickets in advance ("you only save $14-- but hey, that's lunch!" she says) and is just bubbling over with excitement for this trip. She says "I bet you can't wait to get out of the cold up there!" She's right-- I can't. She was just so helpful and cheerful about my trip. Which realistically, there is only a 25% chance I will take! But I booked it, to lock in the rate, and I'm going to spend the day agonizing and deciding whether to bring it to dh. This is a long way of getting around it, but the main thing is, eeyore-- ask to book All Star first--- (I asked for Music) they might offer an upsell! I didn't get the idea that All Star was booked--- this was some sort of special. Anyone else get anything like this?
She also said "If you want to come for Christmas, book now, I'm getting TONS of calls already." I'm sure there was some degree of exaggeration there, but still I found it interesting.
