Our last trip to Disney was in July and after a stressful fall/winter in the Northeast we are desperate to go back to our favorite destination. I just checked Mouse Savers and learned that the discount codes expired on Monday for the date we wanted to go (February 19 - 26) which is school vaca week. We honestly don't care about crowds we just want to be warm and with the Mouse. Does anyone happen to know if there will be any other discounts offered on the moderates during this time? I checked Expedia and the lowest rate I could find is $169 a night for POR. Wahh!!!! Why did we wait so long to check on this??

There are annual passholder (AP) rates for that time period. Check mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#ccq You may want to consider the possibility of having someone (adult) in your family purchase an AP in order to get a discounted rate. It may still save you some good money. Do the math and see if it would be worth it!

The AP holder can be a child as long as they are in the party occupying the room --- at least it was that way in the fall of 2002. I learned this from someone on this board and asked a CM to verify it when my husband (non-passholder) was taking my daughter (passholder age 5) in Dec. The CM put me on hold and when she came back she very nicely said she had learned something new ... that the requirement is just that someone staying in the room has to be a passholder (the room may have to be in their name too), that it is not limited to adult passholders. She booked the room at the AP rate. My husband was asked to show my daughter's AP at check-in.

Disney Club and AAA also offer discounted rates, last time I checked I think it was around 133.00 a night. ~:D~

That's peak season so DC is only 10% off of $169 plus tax. comes out to be about $169.50 with tax.

With an AP moderates are $109 plus tax.

Good luck!

I was referring to the DC code rate (2/17-4/9) which was 133.00, but I just tried checking on it and you had to book by 1-27-03. ~:(~

eeyore1226, An Ap would be the way to do this! i just checked out rates for my sister yesterday(1/29). The CM was very helpful and gave me rack rates and AP rates. For an All-Star resort(Sports or Music) It was $854.56 and 619.00 w/AP for 7 nites. For the CBR it was 1313.13 and 851.00 w/AP for 7 nites. Also 5 day park hoppers were 231.00 and 1 adult AP was 393.00. So for 162.00 more on the Ap you could save $$ on a room. The good thing about an Ap is you WILL HAVE TO COME BACK before it expires!!;) Good Luck! Joan PS -ORBITZ also has a sale on Airline tickets if you are willing to travel Tuesday 2/18-25(you can play with these dates and return on Monday and possibly get a low fare also.)I checked Providence to MCO and was pricing it 190.00to 200.00.

Eeyore,

Try to use the mousesavers code anyway. I think I saw somewhere that they were still taking it through the end of this week. Good luck!

Call CRO anyway. We had a trip planned for this past July and I had booked CBR under the code when it came out in April. Well in July, I thought it would have been nice to stay at WL since we had our honeymoon there and this was our anniversary, and I had managed to save a little more money than I had thought. So I called and asked if there was anyway to get that rate and they gave me WL for what the code would have been even though it had expired two months ago in May. I am not sure if it was because I already had a reservation or not, but they DID NOT switch the reservation. They cancelled the CBR, refunded the deposit and created a new reservation and charged the deposit again. I remember the CM saying that they still had rooms left at that rate. Perhaps they set aside a number of rooms at that rate and if they are not booked before the deadline then they can either book at the code rate or rack rate, depending on what the caller asks for. So in short, call them and ask, the worst they can say is no.

The dc rarte is 15% for peak season which makes the rate 143.65 plus tax. We're booked for 4/12-4/15. DD is there with High School band and that is the best we could do. May, July, & Aug are our favorite times, which has good codes.

I've been away from these boards for a while but it feels so good to be back. I'll be checking on the room again tonight:p

I was wondering about this-- problem is Mary already removed the code from her site. Can someone pm me with it?

I'm also pondering taking a last minute, poorly planned trip during my daughter's school break-- but I hate rack rate!! :D

EEYORE1226- definitely check tonight. But ask for the All Star rate and see what happens.

Here's what happened to me!

Yesterday I got a bee in my bonnet about getting out of town for my daughter's winter break, although I'm not exactly rolling in cash so this would be a budget trip. Four nights. It might be me, my husband, and dd, or just me and dd-- or no one if I come to my senses! Anyway, yesterday I called CRO to price resorts--- since this is a last minute budget trip, just checking All Stars. Rack rates, $109. Ap rate is available at $79, but I calculated the difference between AP rates and 4 day hopper and I didn't come out ahead buying the AP. Anyway, still haven't decided (or talked to my husband. ) Posted here last night. Two of you were nice enough to pm the expired code rate. I called CRO this morning and got the nicest, coolest, Disney-ist agent there is. I start out by asking her the All Star rate (I mention a code, but I don't think she hears me.) She tap-taps into her computer, and says "oh look! They're offering you a special upgrade! Regular rate for All Stars is $109 standard, $119 preferred. For $119 they are offering you POR, POFQ, and CBR."

"Wow." I say. Then I ask her to check those code rates and yup, they have expired, can't book with them. So, I say.... "Book POFQ please!" I want to lock in the rate, and since it is less than 30 days out, I have to put one nights right away.

She takes all my info and everything is a blur. She is a great great cm-- reminding me about the new princess meals, reminding me to get my tickets in advance ("you only save $14-- but hey, that's lunch!" she says) and is just bubbling over with excitement for this trip. She says "I bet you can't wait to get out of the cold up there!" She's right-- I can't. She was just so helpful and cheerful about my trip. Which realistically, there is only a 25% chance I will take! But I booked it, to lock in the rate, and I'm going to spend the day agonizing and deciding whether to bring it to dh. This is a long way of getting around it, but the main thing is, eeyore-- ask to book All Star first--- (I asked for Music) they might offer an upsell! I didn't get the idea that All Star was booked--- this was some sort of special. Anyone else get anything like this?

She also said "If you want to come for Christmas, book now, I'm getting TONS of calls already." I'm sure there was some degree of exaggeration there, but still I found it interesting.

Congrats on the upsell Jen! I haven't heard of one of those in a long time!! :)

Just an update-- I'm going! I'm going! After agonizing for two days. My dh is staying home but has given us his blessing. I'm so excited! Well, that cm was so excited about my trip, I couldn't let her down by not going! ;)

My 5-year daughter is so excited, she just helped me purchase the tickets from Delta.com!

That upsell rate makes it all worthwhile (and since I HATE not getting a discount, this makes the trip okay.) :D

Jen D............AWESOME:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
I am so happy you decided to go!!! It would be hard to pass up a great rate like that and get out of the cold!!!

Hope you have an AWESOME trip!!!!

I too am SO LOOKING FORWARD to my trip with DD in April...just the two of us!!!
