Doesn't mean a thing to someone who can't buy groceries this week.Money is never free. The cost of the $1000 will be significantly more in the long run and $1000 isn’t going to help very much if this continues.
There are many services I'm unable to use ri

I get it but some are past the point of no return. And that is something that too many people didn’t want to think about before wanting to crash the economy.
Same. Unfortunately I just wiped myself out paying a car off early, then 2 weeks later the world began to end and I already sent all my money to Chase.Use it for bills, like it's intended.
Why? Because it's probably going to cost us all 5 times what we are going to get. Why?
Why would you rip up $$ you couldn't use vs. passing it on to a person or organization that could use it?
Seriously - I'm genuinely curious as to why you would suggest this.

Feels good not having a car payment that I've had since 1992, but kinda wish I had my cash in hind sight.
I hope I don't get it. Dh is a salaried worker, he is still working so we aren't in need of it.
Let ours go to someone who actually needs it to pay their rent or water bill or buy food for their family, or pay for doctor's visits.
I was going to post something very similar.
Send DH's and mine to someone who needs it more than us.
As of now, no one in my company will be out of work, but it's quite possible someone's spouse/partner will be. Perhaps we can help someone locally.
If you don't want it DONATE it Help someone in need.
I heard every adult American. Our kids can sure use it. One is a server and will probably be out of work. Another is in college and probably won’t have work this summerCrazy thing is I read something about it costing more money if they have to figure out who needs the money and it's cheaper to just send the money to everyone. I don't know if it's true or not. People should definitely donate if they don't need the money. We are salaried and working from home so we aren't losing any money. At least as of right now.
Not everyone will be getting one. There's an income cap.If you don't want it DONATE it Help someone in need.
YUP, just GIFT it to someone.
That's how I feel. I wish there was a way for them to only give it to those in need due to all of this. I'm a school counselor (so far still getting paid) and DH is in the military so fortunately financially not much has changed for us in terms of immediate issues. We don't need it and I feel so frustrated for those that are literally being destroyed by this. I'm really hoping they find a way to help those in need without being wasteful.I hope I don't get it. Yeah, if there is an income factor then I would not get one and I am happy with that. We need to help those in need and the economy. Sending me more money would only help the economy if I actively decided to spend more money than usual. Not everyone will be getting one. There's an income cap.
Not to be a downer, but I know many people are salaried and are fine because we can work from home and are getting paid. This $1,000 per person is going to be a drop in the bucket if this goes on for weeks on end. Yes, I hope our jobs can continue to support us - but they can't if the entire economy shuts down for too long. If we need to shut everything down for two weeks let's start it...yesterday.
ETA: Right now, we don't need it either and it would probably help someone else more.
