You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

The night before a Disney trip is like Christmas Eve. I'm surprised you got to sleep at all!

And I think everyone on the boards is going to be using the "fart blossom" line now. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Be sure to take before and after pictures of your bedroom re-do. I'd love to see them.

How long does it usually take for a photo cd? I'm still editing all mine, over 2000 pictures taken. JJ had lots of pixie dust sprinkled on him. I'm debating waiting to start the TR til I have the PP pictures. I only have a little over a week to finish them or I'll lose my first photos.

Very excited for the reveal. This is a big moment. You've worked so hard and taken such good care of yourself. Whichever pictures you like best use them. If it means waiting it will be well worth it.

Mackie looks stunning in her braces free picture. I didn't even notice the sparkle reflections on her arm til you pointed it out.

Woohoo! The last Mickey head taken off of the countdown calendar!

Praying before travel is also one of our norms. In fact, before both kids were homeschooled we prayed before heading to school. I swear, the days we forgot we sure noticed a difference.

How nice that the shuttle person waited! Great way to have your vacation start.

Cinnabon seems to be an airport staple. I don't know why, but I have never liked them, yet I like the one at Gaston's. Glad she was able to get her favorite.

Does TSA allow large eyed needles or crochet hooks on the planes?

I'm on my phone and don't know how to quote so just a quick response to say thank you for thinking of Meadow and me with your prayer for safe travel. Very sweet of you. And.....calling your daughter a spoiled little fart blossom had my ROTL LMHO. Too funny!!!

You are more than welcome, Dawn. I usually pray travels blessings on/over people when I know they are traveling, I knew y'all were on the road/in the air that day. :)
 I'm surprised by so many finding fart blossom so funny. Is that not something others say around where y'all live? I remember hearing it when I was growing up, so it's just a normal/funny thing to hear someone say in my family. But aren't all kids pretty much fart blossoms?

Spoiled little fart blossom...that's the funniest thing I've ever heard. :)

:goodvibes Just so you don't feel left out, Jill. There were some people not on the list I showed Mark, because I knew exactly how to spell out their Dis names without looking them up, the list was me looking them up and writing them out, in no way do I want you to feel slighted, or anyone else for that matter. :sad2: :) I think I've sent a TR link to another Glennbo I don't know on the Dis twice now. :rotfl:

Mackie must be thrilled to have her braces off!

SHE IS!! :goodvibes

Yay, departure departure! I always get up before my alarm on Disney day. It's so worth it.

Best day ever, right?!?

Calling your daughter a spoiled little fart blossom.....priceless. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

Spoiled little fart blossom :lmao: I love it.

You're on the plane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:goodvibes

Almost on the plane, just about to be on actually. :)

Why is is so easy to wake up on VACATION DAY!!! :rotfl2: Nice you see you've made it to the plane, and fed your child. Oh, and your little fart blossom looks very grown up and beautiful with those braces off. princess:

Vacation day's are the best!! I love getting up for plane trips. :) And yes, my little, fart blossom is looking very grown up now. :sad1:

Oh boy, I think I started a revolution, a fart blossom revolution! Where's that Taco Bell dog when you need him? :rotfl:

lmao...fart blossom :rotfl2:

:goodvibes

I didn't feel left out in the least! I just figured I was in the inner circle. :)

I just found my way here and just wanted to say Congratulations on all the hard work and weight loss. Your daughter is beautiful:)

I can't wait to read more about your trip!

Fellow weight-loser here! After our trip in 2010, I said had to be under 200 lbs by our 35th anniversary trip in 2012. I didn't lose the weight by then -- but we also had to delay the trip for a year, so I still had a goal to work toward. By the time we left for our trip in April, I exceeded my goal and was down 85 lbs! I still have at least 40 to go to reach the "healthy weight range."

Welcome and Howdy, Debbie!! :wave2:
And congrats to you!! 85 lbs. is amazing!! Keep up the great work. I know I'm still moving forward, I want to be far enough away from feeling like I'm near the danger zone that I can relax a bit. That way if I put on a few pounds I'm not in a panic about it, I can do what most normal weight people do, be good for a while and work it off before allowing yourself to let go a little bit again.

I can relate to your seat belt story. Mine is a fanny pack story. When I pulled mine out in March, I discovered that I not only no longer needed the extender, I also could cinch it a good bit. I took it to my meeting and showed everyone that with the fanny pack at the old size, it now fell down to my ankles!

:dance3: :yay: :dance3: It truly pays to celebrate all the changes, it's in those celebrations we allow the old self to fall away and appreciate the new us that is developing!! :goodvibes I want to hear more about this journey as you go along!!

I thought about doing a trip report and including old pictures and new ones, but I just can't keep up with writing trip reports -- and I'm not nearly as entertaining as some of the folks here on the DIS. I can't wait to see your pics. And I am going to hunt up your PTR (I have signatures turned off, my eyes can't take all those graphics and my computer hates them).

TR's are not always easy to keep up with, ask just about anyone here, I can barely get to theirs! And I'm certainly not as entertaining as others are on here, I just write from the heart and some times my funnier side. :goodvibes

Now, one thing I came back saying about our trip was that the food wasn't nearly as good as I had spent a year anticipating it would be. Every time I had the urge for a sweet, I would tell myself, "No, wait until you have one of those cinnamon rolls at Disney." Well, I got the cinnamon roll and it was "Eh" -- dh though so too, so we shared one and took the second back to our room to snack on. And that was the way it was for just about every meal and snack we had. Even the highly-praised BOG left us scratching our heads. I'm wondering if you experienced the same thing.

::yes:: I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN!! It's really hard to go from eating really clean and almost no sugars or no white flour in your diet to eating it again. I actually had a headache every single day I was there. I know it was from what I was eating, my body just wasn't use to all that sugar that seemed to be in almost EVERYTHING, including a lot of the savory things I was eating, never noticed it on previous trips. I did the exact same thing you did by saying I would wait it out and eat something yummy in WDW and not at the moment, it paid off weight wise that's for sure!! :thumbsup2 Although I did enjoy my Mickey head waffles, BOG cupcakes and my first Dole Whip, (the cupcakes in small measure-they were just too much sugar to eat at one time) so at least there was that! :thumbsup2

Last thing before I go -- the "pw" in my name stands for pastor's wife -- so I love the faith aspect you bring into your trip report. :)

Aww, thank you! Well now I'm going to be extra careful of what I'm saying! :rotfl: Naaaa, I'm just me. I don't pretend to be a perfect person or Christian. Good night of livin!! Imagine what kind of mess I'd be if I weren't a God fearin girl?!? :rotfl2: :rotfl: When I have someone say something to me critical about a Christians behavior I remind them of just that, "Just imagine what they'd be like if there weren't?!?" :scared:

Yeah for no braces. Your DD is beautiful.

Sounds like a good start to your trip. We always end up needing to be at the airport before 6am. I would love an 11 flight, but we have a 6+ hour flight to WDW, and hate arriving so late.

Can't wait for your next installment. Trip reports kind of remind me of the old magazine serials. Keeps us waiting for the next part of the story! Lol

I'd love to have been on an earlier flight but there were NONE! I was not a happy camper with SW about that very thing. It's in large part as to why we ended up going an extra day early, we wanted to feel we were starting out on a rested note. :) It all worked out in the end.

Be sure to take before and after pictures of your bedroom re-do. I'd love to see them.

Hey, Michelle! :wave2: I sure will, although I'm embarrassed to put up photo's of the before, it looks like a dang junk haulers convention in my room!! :rotfl:

How long does it usually take for a photo cd? I'm still editing all mine, over 2000 pictures taken. JJ had lots of pixie dust sprinkled on him. I'm debating waiting to start the TR til I have the PP pictures. I only have a little over a week to finish them or I'll lose my first photos.

I have not a clue, I'll let you know when I get mine. It's been at least a good week or better by now.

WE use to do the same thing!! And yes! You really do notice a difference. :scared: Now that John takes Mackie in the mornings I don't have that prayer time with her.

Cinnabon seems to be an airport staple. I don't know why, but I have never liked them, yet I like the one at Gaston's. Glad she was able to get her favorite.

Yes, it was soo nice of the shuttle lady to wait on us. I was truly grateful for that. And I'm with you on the Cinnabon's, too much cinnamon, :crazy2: I didn't get to try the one's at Gaston's, I was on a sugar overload that trip, it seemed to be in soooo much of our food, even the foods you didn't expect it to be in. When you don't eat much of it for a long while, you really notice it.

Does TSA allow large eyed needles or crochet hooks on the planes?

Yes actually, the TSA or HLS released right before the trip for men to be able to start carrying pocket knives again, so I figured a crochet needle and large eyed needle (neither are all that sharp) would be no biggie. I've taken them on the plane plenty of times since 9/11. Not so sure how I feel about pocket knives being able to come onto the plane again.

Yes, yes you are!! ::yes:: So glad you were able to sell your house. Are you okay with the fires burning close by? You aren't in any danger, are you?

Joining in! Blessed to have found you! 86 days before our inspiration trip...dh tryimg to lose 23 pounds and me trying to tip 100 pound clippie! All your pains and frustrations I identify with! Thank God for being the Master encourager!

Can not wait to see your pics and read your trip report! This will inspire me to goal!

I'm sorry, but were you excited about that trip? I just cannot get that from your post. ;)

:lmao:

Seriously, so exciting! I was glad to talk to you that day because I'm not always good at remembering when people are coming and going to the World. It was nice to wish you happy trails! :goodvibes

Getting rid of the house was truly a blessing and a weight off. I'm not in any danger of the fires but we have been dealing with the smoke here in Denver. We do have people here at work that are impacted....over 360 houses burned as of yesterday morning...I haven't heard and update today yet. This fire is already worse than the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs last year. They have had 2 fatalities so far as well. Please send rain!

So glad to have you!! :) Welcome!! :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3: 100 pound clippie?!? I've never heard of that before!! Too cool!! Way. To. Go! Girlie!!! That's my ultimate goal, to lose a total of a 100 lbs., at least. We'll see as the last of it comes off if I need to lose more, it's hard to tell when you lift weights what you'll look like at what weight. When I saw myself getting into old clothes 30 lbs. heavier than when I originally wore them I had a feeling I'd have to take the last 20-30 lbs. little by little to see if I really needed to lose more or if I'd be happy where I was. It's not just about a number, it's really about me feeling good in my body....not quite there yet, but getting close. :goodvibes
Keep up the amazing work!! How are you doing it, if you don't mind me asking, and if you don't want to post anything here you can always PM me.

Yes, I 'm sure it was a big weight off your shoulders, a blessing to say the least! :goodvibes
I can't imagine how yucky the smoke must be, we had a bit of it all the way from Mexico which is fairly far away compared to the proximity of the fires to you and I had a hard time breathing with that stuff in the air. :scared: I can't imagine how tough that must be for y'all.
We had the big Bastrop fire here almost a couple of years ago and it was un-nerving to live with the conditions of knowing it could happen just about anywhere around us (that's what 11 months without any true rain will do for you). We had a couple that started close by but they were able to get them out before they became big. Thank the Lord!
One actually started across the street from our subdivision and in a matter of a couple of minutes the cigarette that was thrown out of a car burned through an entire field and a couple of houses due the high winds. :faint:
And I do mean minutes, scared the pee out of me! One of the couple's barely made it out of their house because it was burning that quickly! :guilty:
I'll keep lifting y'all up and the people's homes in the path, the firemen must be beyond tired right now. :guilty:
Praying for rain!! :)

I heard there were flatulence metaphors and was drawn towards the flame. My breakfast of choice when flying out of AUS...the breakfast burrito at Salt Lick BBQ. MMMM Tasty. And powerful. (See above metaphor.)

Welcome to the flame, G.B. And you heard right....there is a new flatulence metaphor (although living in Texas you've probably heard it before) everyone is laughing about.
Mackie ended up with breakfast taco's and a Cinnabon. I tried to talk her into the Salt Lick, but she didn't go for it.

I have just read your trip report....I know a little late, but better late than never. First of all Congratulations on losing 80 lbs. What a wonderful victory !!! I just LOVE your idea of the board you put up for inspiration. I have just decided to start walking and hope to get to jogging and running. I am going to start the Couch to 5K plan tomorrow. I just started my own board this morning and put up the 3 races I just put on my bucket list. First Expedition Everest Run, then Tower of Terror, then the Princess 1/2 Marathon. Just wanted you to know you inspire me !!!! :thumbsup2

Hey B-Mama!! :wave2: Welcome! And don't you worry about being late, the more the merrier no
matter when you come along! :goodvibes
Serious congrats on the start of your new journey!! This is exciting news!! It's always fun to hear someone else is motivated to change their lives for the better!!
I love having my inspiration wall, I had heard others in the past talk about starting a board and I thought why not a wall, something I could look at when I was exercising, something that would truly motivate me. :goodvibes

I don't know if you read any of my PTR but I mentioned I started out with pics of women from health magazines and catalogues that I found inspiring, some with cute bathing suits to give me hope for getting back into one, (I think it was from Lands End catalogue) and pictures that not only inspired me but with colors that also made me happy to look at.
I also picked pictures of women with toned arms or legs that I aspired to achieve, add in some inspiring words, quotes, and scripture and voila! You've got a inspiration wall!! :thumbsup2

Be sure and keep us posted and don't lose heart as times get tough, and if I may offer this bit of advice and encouragement....be sure to have a support group and/or support person you check in with on a regular basis, it was a huge component to my success. Having others to be accountable to and to cheer you on as well as pray you through the tough times will really help keep you going and stay on track. ::yes:: :thumbsup2 No matter if it's weight loss you are going for or just trying to get healthier through training.
I know my weight loss failures in the past were due to me trying to doing it all on my own, I've heard sooo many people say it makes all the difference to have someone to do it along side of or to have a support group to help keep you on track.

You'll find this funny, even my physical therapist (who does triathlons) says they have training husbands and wives, not their actual wives or husbands, but people they train with and partner up with through out the training process. When we are doing something that requires a lot out of us and for long periods of time, I guess we all need cheerleaders in our lives!! :cheer2:

YOU CAN DO THIS, B-MAMA!! :thumbsup2

Thank you sooo much !!! I haven't read your PTR but I will do it soon. The magazine that always gets me excited is Athleta. Those girls are so fit and healthy and that's what I want. I am about 70 lbs overweight and it seemed after my last child was born (13 years ago) my weight just climbed up and up and I lost all my energy. I've tried the gym but didn't stick with it. I really want to FEEL BETTER and have more ENERGY !!!! I'm an outdoor person so I figured running would be a better fit for me. At least with the C25K plan I have a attainable game plan.

I will take your advise on having someone to be accountable to. Because of my schedule I have to exercise at 4 am so it's hard to find someone to train with me except for my 13 yo DD. We'll see how well that works.

Living in South Louisiana the food issue is really hard. We have SUCH GOOD FOOD here and I crave it. I did read somewhere on the boards about looking at food as fuel and not for my emotions. I bought a book (I think from Runner's Magazine) about Women and Running (I can't remember the name) but I need to read the food section to really get a grip on what I should be eating and I'll start from there.

Thanks for the motivation and I look forward to seeing the rest of your trip report !!!!

Day 1......Still.

As you know when I last left off we were about to board the plane, with my little fart blossom feed and no longer whining to me about being hungry I figured I had at least half of the flight or better to get through before hearing how hungry she is again. Mmmm hmmm!
Little did she know that her Mama had her covered with cheese sticks, orange slices, apple slices, and some good Rustic Italian bread from Whole foods. Mmmmm.

Yes, yes, I know, I sound like a boring eater. But hey! You don't get to the success I did without bringing your own food or planning ahead. When I started my weight loss I made the decision that planning ahead was going to have to be a major priority .
Every time I failed in the past it was a result of not having in mind what I was going to eat for my next meal/meals (depending how long I'd be out), and having that food on hand at any given time (at home too). If I didn't the result would always end up in fast food or what ever was easiest to get down my gullet when I got home, who cared if it was healthy, and I cared even less about exercise because I went into a food comma for an hour or two after. Did I mention most of my meals would start at about 3 in the afternoon or later? :rolleyes2 The body just can't run that way. :sad2:

Now, it's a rarity for me to leave my home without breakfast with me as I head out the door, or already wolfed down before I leave. :teeth:
I also don't leave the house without my workout planned into the day, most days it works out. :) Even with my failed attempts this week I still managed to get in two weight and three cardio workouts. Not to shabby if I say so myself.

Any whoooo, we're called to get on the plane and since it's a direct flight I'm pretty happy about the fact that with in the next three hours we'll be in....

Florida going to.....WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! :yay:

The plane ride was fairly uneventful other than a bit bumpy upon landing, but over all a pleasant flight. Mackie put in her ear phones and read while I chat it up with the really nice lady, Sandy, next to me (I told you I never met a stranger). She was coming with her hubby to a CPA convention (imagine the partying that must go on at those things ), <that's sarcasm incase you missed it> and planned on hitting the parks while he was away during the day.
You know how in life when chance meetings happen and you think....'Hmmm, I don't think that was an accident'.....well, that was this lady sitting next to me.
She and I got on topic of why I was on this trip and she proceeded to tell me how she and her husband were both on the same journey, she said they had both lost a lot of weight and how she too was learning more and more about the body, how it works, and how eating clean is truly the only way to lose weight, stay healthy, and keep it off.
She sounded like an old hand at this and I asked her what got her motivated, she said that she had been diagnosed with something, and it woke her up to what she had been doing to her body all these years (she was probably well into her 50's) and how now she was healthy as a result of it. It felt really good to talk with someone who got it, someone who knew exactly what you were going through and thought a lot of the same way you did about foods (what's in it, on it and GMO'd into it) and how it affects the body.
Now, I know this may all sound very boring, but to me, I felt it was God's way of showing me how blessed I was to have started on this before having to hear I had some sort of illness. I sat there and truly felt grateful <hate the way that word is spelled-it should be greatful> for having started when I did and it helped me see how important it is to stay on track and to KEEP MOVING FORWARD!! :goodvibes

Okay, sappy part over, back to the getting off this darn plane! Why is it when you are doubly excited to be somewhere the people seem to take forever to get off the dang plane?!? :hyper: :faint:
We finally made our way off the plane :woohoo: and found our way over to a ladies room (this will be a common theme on this trip-that and the first of many gripes by my daughter because of it) and then over to the fake monorail...

Where we took our "first sweet ride" of the trip.

At this point we weren't sure if we were going in the right direction, but we soon realized we were right where we needed to be. Since it was just Mackie and I, I was trying to wing it from memory. Usually I have my information out and reading where we're to be next so my ex-military husband doesn't have a heart attack about not knowing what we are doing :goodvibes We finally made our way through to finally see these...

Once I saw these baby's I knew we were well on our way to ME. :goodvibes It seems to go on forever, doesn't it?!? :rolleyes2

Finally!! WE found where we needed to be, I think every time we've gone to WDW the counter set up for ME is different. At least it's more efficient every time we've gone. :thumbsup2
I pulled out my ME information to hand to the nice CM and they motioned us to the right lines, as we were making our way through to get to the buses I started to cry. I know.

1) For the fact I was beyond excited and 2) Because I thought so many times through my weight loss journey I wouldn't make it to that point.
I can't tell you how many times I remember sitting on my bike, sweating it out and thinking is this even possible, will I really ever make it to where I want to be?!? Will I walk those streets in MK w/out pain? Will I be able to truly see myself at my greatest potential??!!?? After all my wall said "I must see myself at my greatest potential at all times."

During my workouts I had looked at that quote so many times, along with all the others, concentrating on the words and pictures on my wall, thinking of myself in all the different scenarios of being at Disney skinnier than I've been in almost two decades.
And here I was, finally walking through the ME line, crying, realizing not only did I do it, but I was finally living out what I had visualized for TWO YEARS!!
Through broken toe, sweat, tears and many other obstacles I had finally made it!! I was crossing the blasted finish line!!!!!

Cue Chariots of Fire....

Bless Mackie, she kept saying "Awww, Mama...it's okay, it's okay. I couldn't control myself!! I could not stop crying and thinking about how far I had come...

To finally.....

Me, 80 lbs. thinner. It's not the greatest picture, but it was at the very moment I had been describing. I was finally here, I had finally made it!!!
I was so happy and so in the moment I didn't care who saw me crying. Mackie and I took our pictures of one another in front of the ME bus, we were soooo happy to be there, it was a long time coming but we were there........finally. <big happy sigh>
