You just lost 80 pounds! What are you Going to do next? Ending TR

Your reveal pic is amazing (oops, someone already said that). It is awesome (um, someone said that too). You are incredible (uh oh, that one was already taken). How about fantastic? Nope, already used. Geesh, I sure would like to be original here! How about SA-WEET!

Good for you for doing this as early as you have. My "baby" and I have lost weight together -- she is 30, so I've waited way too long to get rid of the baby weight.

I'm sure your story will inspire many! And you have the gift of encouragement -- just reading here builds me up!

:goodvibes Thank you Debbie, I'm glad I finally got to it when I did too. I was concerned about becoming 50
and still in the same boat. I've heard how hard it can be for those past menopause, or even past 40 for that matter! :scared: I felt I had wasted too many of my younger years being over weight and wanted to enjoy living in this body again.

To Everyone.......

I say it's a good time no matter how old you are!! ::yes:: As long as you can keep moving and change what you've been doing all along (since we know that method hasn't worked as long as we've been doing it :rolleyes2), anyone can change their lives for the better!
I'm so blessed to know I'm inspiring others, but please, please, please people, be sure to be inspired as often as you need it, not just when you come here to read. This is why I encourage people to have a support system, we all need to be encouraged, believed in by those who support us, but also by those who we least expect....

http://youtu.be/qX9FSZJu448-This is so AMAZING!!! Don't miss it!!

http://youtu.be/Fuqkz_sZDos- Incase you wanted to see/hear the words from the video-So good!!

That video with that song does me in EVERY TIME!!
I don't advocate any certain method to get in shape, but I do advocate having someone believe in you and you being able to tap into that when ever you feel you can't go on.
Look what one man did when he thought he had only one person believing in him!! ::yes:: I so wish I had a smilie with happy tears streaming down it's face. :lovestruc

Y'ALL CAN DO THIS!!!!

Oh my goodness Millie! You look amazing!!!!
You were always beautiful with a fantastic smile but now you look so fit and happy! I am so proud of you - superwoman!!!!!!!!

Hi Camille! You finally made it! What a cute pic of you at ME! I must admit, I'm a little surprised how you just popped in here for your reveal without much fanfare - but I understand the fanfare was inside yourself! :thumbsup2 Again, I'm so proud of you - you have made decisions that will be with you for life! AND you are one hot mama!!! :rotfl2:

Hey, Camille! Just getting back on here after being off the boards for quite some time. Your journey is so inspiring and after the awesome buildup...your reveal pic was stunning! I have tears in my eyes... no joke. This is a journey and it can feel cliched, sometimes, to talk about becoming stronger and healthier that way, but it really is. I think you've picked up on a lot of the same things I have in the last year or so... and yes, it is IS about 85% what you put in your mouth. I made the mistake, when I first got back into working out heavily, of thinking...oh, great, I can totally eat whatever I want now ('cause you know that's how it had always worked in my 20s :lmao:)...um, no. No, you cannot! And yes, planning is key! I now spend a good deal of my weekends grocery shopping and cooking because if I don't make it, well it likely isn't that healthy. Also makes you stop and really think about what you do eat if isn't clean... and I don't think cheese sticks and good bread sound boring in the slightest.

Your daughter is beautiful!

Love the seatbelt pic...says it all, doesn't it?

Can't wait to hear more about this momentous trip!

Courage and strength or just plain ol' stubbornness!! :rotfl: It was as if my jaw became more set every time I'd realize someone else had fallen off the wagon in our weight loss group.

Thank you, Vickilynn!! And :welcome: !! It's always nice to have another reader. I hope in some small way you've been inspired too. :)

:rotfl: Okay, okay! :goodvibes I usually post once a week, but sometimes the mood strikes me more often. I have to be in that story telling frame of mind, you know?

Thanks, Tammie. :goodvibes I'm not one much for a bunch of fanfare, I guess. :confused3

TINA!!! :dance3: :yay: :dance3: :welcome: Wow! I'm so excited to see you back on the Dis and that you chose my TR to read about. :goodvibes
Wow! I didn't realize you were on the same journey, how are you doing with it?? And it's funny you bring up how cliché things sound when you talk about it because I'm thinking everyone one must be thinking the same thing as I type things out! :rotfl:
This has been one heck of a journey, and as you know I'm still on it, but feeling like I can actually see the finish line. :cheer2:
I'd looove to see pictures of you and your progress!! But only if you are comfortable with it. :)
For a really long time I wasn't, even though I had lost 50 or 60 lbs. I still wasn't ready for people to see me yet, I was glad to have this TR as my excuse as to why I hadn't posted pics yet. It was really in the last 20 lb. that I felt like you could REALLY see how drastic the changes were, I even have people who don't recognize me now!

It's so good to have someone who can relate to all of this!! ::yes:: And you are sooo right, it is 85% of what we put into our mouths.
I'm always saddened to see people still trying to eat or drink like they use to and then not understanding 'why their workouts aren't helping them', get frustrated and then give up. :guilty:
Or worse, they choose an unrealistic diet (some times starving their bodies) and way of working out, lose a ton of weight, but then go back to their old habits and don't understand why it all comes back with a vengeance!! :scared: :sad1: It makes me so sad and frustrated for them.

I'm a firm believer in KISS-Keep It Simple Silly! :) But I too can totally understand where the overwhelming feelings come in, feel you are finally at your breaking point and not know where to turn to, or where to even start. The best advice I can give anyone....Just start, where ever feels best for you and with something you know you can stick with and then research the rest like crazy and make the changes little by little as you think you can. That's it, that's how I did it. I know I make it sound easier than done and yes, I'm one who likes to push herself, but honestly if you are making this a priority and are on the constant look out for what new things you can add to what you are doing (as you are ready), anyone can do this!! :goodvibes
That's why I can truly say "If I can do it, any one can do it," and not feel cliché saying it. Almost anyone can start out doing exactly what I did, even if they have to go to a doctor first to get approval. ::yes::

AND yes, yes, yes!! Planning is one of the biggest helps for one to stay on track with weight loss. If I don't plan out my day food wise and exercise, I fail, miserably!! :guilty: I relate to the weekend buying and preparing thing too! ::yes:: I find my week goes much more smoothly if I get my food planning and prep done early on.
The cheese sticks, fruit and bread....:rotfl: I figured most people would laugh about that, but hey! I didn't have to buy food for myself at the airport (should have been the case for the both of us-) and my daughter and I didn't go hungry while on the plane, win, win in my book! :thumbsup2

I thought I posted from my phone the other day, but I don't see it anywhere. Sorry.

Wow! You look absolutely fabulous, Mackie too. I admire your willpower and strength.

You talk about eating clean. What exactly does that mean? Eating fresh, not prepared foods?

Awww. you had me crying right along with you!

Beautiful Millie, in so many many ways. You held yourself accountable to you (and HIM) and you won!!!!! So much more than 80 pounds.

What a lovely lovely update.

No worries, and yes!! Exactly! Not eating processed foods as much as possible and if you do, doing it with minimal amounts of ingredients and organic if possible.
It also means no processed sugars-high fructose, white sugar, beet sugar etc., no white flour, very lean meats, no fast foods, no foods with hormones, pesticides, not eating out at restaurants because there are soooo many hidden things put into foods, or already in the foods.
Such as sugars, caramel coloring-known carcinogen, salt, MSG, pesticides, chemicals that are supposed to make foods 'taste or look good.'
For example, a bowl of the fruit and maple oatmeal from McDonalds has more sugar than a regular sized snickers bar. 32 grams of sugar-that's 8 teaspoons of sugar for a 9.6 oz. bowl, the total carbs are 58 grams. A regular snickers bar has 29 grams of sugar.
A lot of the fancy yogurts out there are the same way, looooots of sugar. I stood in line at the grocery store recently and seen the yogurt some lady had up on the conveyor belt, it said 20 grams of sugar, I picked up a Dove candy bar just to see, 19 grams of sugar. :faint: A lot of times we just don't realize how much stuff goes into processed foods, and most of the time we think it's something healthy, who wouldn't think yogurt is supposed to be healthy?!?

That's sort of thing. :) Not easy to do, but able to be done over time. Of course I didn't start out that way, I added new things in as I learned or was able to make the change. Of course it's not always realistic, but trying to stick to it as much as possible pays off big time. ::yes::

Congratulations on your success!! You are an inspiration. I look forward to reading along.

Thank you Mary!! :) Glad to have you along!!

:welcome:
