I ask that the buyer notify me that the item was received before I leave feedback. I do not require that they leave me feedback first though. I am only wanting to make sure that the package arrived and all is okay. I had a few that had some problems with that I had left feedback after payment.

So now the only thing I require is that they notify me that the received the item (even though I use DC and know that the item was delivered).

I just signed up for the PayPal ATM/debit card. I'm tired of transferring funds to my bank account and waiting 2-3 days for the funds to be available.

Other than the $1 ATM fee for withdrawals, I didn't see any other fees. did I overlook anything?

What happens if I don't list for longer than three weeks and the card is deactivated? Can I reactivate or will that happen automatically if I start regualr selling again?

There is also a tyvek envelope for global priority that you can use. Possibly you would be able to get all three items in this? and you would have room to wrap them in some tissue/newspaper? The post office should have them available for you...only problem is that I am not sure as to the postage charge on that. (I have only used the flat envelope of global priority box)....Oh...there are 2 size envelopes available as well, the larger size is about 9 X 12, maybe that would fit all 3 items and would ship for $9.00.

Ok, I went to PO and all they gave me was the cardboard, non tyvek international thing... one doesnt' quite fit in it... very very close though...

I didn't get a global tyvek.. they didn't give me one, they said all they had was the cardboard one...

However, this is a new PO counter person, maybe she didn't know.

I Air letter is pretty quick.
I have always used Air letter for my boxes, but they have never wanted insurance (which they prob wouldn't be able to collect on anyway!).

Air letter for boxes? How does that work?

I was quote $27 for a 3 lb 10 oz box for GPM.. Global Priority Mail.

There was another option that was 4-6 weeks.. is there anything inbetween?

Is there another local post office that you can go to? The tyveks are definitely available and my post office does carry them, but you do have to ask for them. (If you can get them, request a few if you think you may want to ship overseas again).
Here is a number to call that can possibly get you some more answers...1-800-ASK-USPS. They will be able to give you more shipping options and all the prices you will need. Once you have all the shipping options, you could email your buyer and give her all the choices and let her choose which she would prefer. Unfortunately the choices are by global or post....nothing that I know of that is inbetween. Don't worry, I think most ebayers that are overseas know that it is expensive to ship an item to them quickly.

The box can only be so big. I whish I could remeber the exact inches but I can't. I just sent a beanie set to England. I used a shoe box wraped in brown paper.

I sent it air letter, it was $11.00. If the box had been about 1/4 of an inch bigger it would of been $25.00 to ship it air to England. So try to find a box that is a little smaller that a tennis shoe shoebox.

Crow is going to Reno! I got paid today, that's always good. The buyer is a very nice man who is just as happy with the outcome as I am. The Crow was the last of his Vernon Dumbo collection so now it's complete, well, it will be when it arrives anyway. Oh, I told him shipping and insurance was on me.:teeth:

Thanks to Carol Ann for starting this thread and to all who contribute to it.

Remember, if it's old Disney, buy it! Even if it's ugly!

Ta, ta for now!

Now I have to find a box that will work with that.. I've had really good luck with Target having lots of PLAIN brown boxes as they are unloading stuff...

so far emailed the winner the link from the post office. .. and she can decide which one she wants.

There were three choices, the two day, the seven day, and the slow boat!

Well, now I have to whine about Sparedollar a little bit.... the photo hosting is down, and all the many attractive photos in my lovely listings are showing as only an "X"! :(

Oh, boy, I hope that can be fixed before too long. We shall see. At least all my listings are ending tomorrow or later.

Upon rising here in NH, I look out to at least 2 inches of snow already, with another 10 to 16 predicted between now and tomorrow. It is feeling like Christmas for certain!

Well, I'll take back my whining, 'cuz Sparedollar's image hosting is back up and working fine, and has been for at least an hour or more. Whew!

Ya know - I'm so bummed. :( I was reviewing my Excel spreadsheet, trying to get my ebay fees to balance, which I finally did. I looked at my net sales since August when I found this thread. I've netted almost $300 and have nothing to show for it.:earseek:

Mind you, I used this"extra money" to do some Christmas shopping, pay my weekly bowling fees a number of times, and used it for other non-essentials like DD's highlights and my last haircut. It's amazing how quickly it comes & goes.

Question regarding stamps.com special offer:

I signed up for the trial of stamps.com where you get the scale and the free postage and supplies. The scale came yesterday (great service) but nothing in there regarding the rest of the deal. I would like to start using the free postage but haven't a clue on how to go about it. I read through the program but am still at a loss.

For those who have done this, can someone shed some light?

Thanks in advance.

Here in NE we are snowed in for the weekend!

Their home page says their hosting place has problems.

Hi, fellow snowed-in New Englander!

Have you downloaded the stamps.com application that you use from your desktop? That is where you will actually access the free postage.

It's been a good 6 months since I did that, so I don't recall a lot of detail about the process, but you definitely must download and log in to the desktop piece of it. When you do that, it connects you online, and by going to the "print postage" tab, you should see a credit for $10 in your account.

HTH, and if it doesn't, let us know. I'll try to offer more specific help.

Stay warm!

Yes, I've been reading the forums over there, and I guess this went on for a good part of yesterday evening into this morning. That is so unfortunate, thank goodness it is resolved.

I'm still very pleased with it. I know I've saved a good bit in fees for pictures, and I really think the overall appearance of my listings have improved.

Are you seriously considering switching over, Doris?

Mrs. Snowgod,

Thanks I found it under 'buy postage' but didn't see it under 'print postage'. I guess when I go to print the postage it will automatically carry over there. I think I'm supposed to get some kind of labels or something, too, to print stamps. Is that what happened to you?

I'm thinking about joining sparedollar sometime this weekend or early next week.

I think they give out credits for referrals? Not sure how it works or if it works with the 30 day free trial. But if anyone wants to get the credit for me signing up, just drop me a PM with instructions on how to get you the credit.

It would be nice to give someone the benefit, if I can. Otherwise, I'll just register through the website on my own.

Thanks.

Yes, I did receive the free netstamps, but never chose to use them. I saved all my free postage for doing shipping labels for my ebay sales.

The Print Postage section has your balance listed on the bottom right corner.

When you get ready to print your postage, if you do end up using it for your ebay shipping, look for the check box to "hide postage amount". I love that! I never have to worry that any buyer will neg me just because I added a dollar or so for handling!

WOW! I just logged in to my Stamps.com to verify the wording I referred to, and there is an upgrade that will now allow online insurance purchase! Yippee!!! And something else about emailing the tracking numbers from the reports list. Cool!

Now I'll never have to wait in line at the P.O. again!!!

BTW, I also didn't bother to order any of the labels from Stamps.com. I just print on plain white paper and tape over it. Or, if I have pairs of items to ship (multiples of 2), I use Avery Full Sheet Labels (item #5265), and print them 2 per sheet (just send it through the printer for the first label, then turn it around and send it through for the second). I have to cut them down, but I like the way they turn out.

I buy the label stock at Staples when I get certificates from my Discover card cash-back program, so they are sort of free.
